I enjoyed the interaction of the couple in this book. I really like how the author was all about showing the female character as a strong knowledgeable woman. Yet, also too stubborn to allow herself the luxury to be vulnerable.
Which for Dr. Samantha Striker it could be very beneficial seeing she is an Emergency Room Surgeon. But as Sam just the woman it could come off as plain stubborn if you didn’t take the time to know her. She is actually a very kind and caring doctor. She at her last hospital had done volunteering work in her community. It had a bad incident that caused her to step back far enough to move the Marietta.
In Marietta, she is just staying to herself with her only real friend being Bianca Whitehall, a fellow doctor who is a partner at the same clinic with Jack Gallagher. Jack is the older of three brothers all of which are doctors the fourth brother is a rancher which is Dylan. There is Jack, Sean, Wyatt, and Dylan. All are married but Dylan. And word on the street is he is quite the ladies’, man.
Well, when Dylan’s foreman is kicked by his newest ward and brought to the ER and bleeding internally, Sam had to operate. When she’s finished, Dylan was who she spoke with. She couldn’t say much due to HIPAA even though the Gallagher’s were all the family Clay has. The next day Clay gave consent, so they spoke again and many days thereafter. Then she kept running into him until he asked her out. She lied and said she had a fake boyfriend. No player for her. No Way!
But when they both attend Bianca’s birthday party he finds out what he had already known, there was no boyfriend, via her BFF. All is forgiven. She just couldn’t figure out how all his exes still liked him. All of them even Bianca. Yup. Bianca. She gets talked into going to his ranch to go horseback riding since she hasn’t been since she left Texas which she misses. How could she say no to a charming, loyal friend, and sexy as hell man who loves his family? She couldn’t.
Their day of riding ended unusually by certain events that lead them to a more constant appearance in each other’s lives. Some good and some downright dangerous. See how this couple react.
I enjoyed this book. I especially liked how the animals had such a healing effect not only on each other but for the human to animal. But animal to human also. I give this book. 4 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. A good romance with a hint of suspense will keep you turning the pages. Dylan, is a cowboy whom is known is not to have serious relationships until he meets the new surgeon in town, Dr Samantha. Samantha is not looking for any kind of relationship but soon she can not deny the chemistry between the two. When random acts of violence are hitting to close to home for Samantha, Dylan steps up to protect her. Now to try and figure out from her past that wants to see her hurt.
A great story that I could not put down. Great characters, that I fell in love with. Loved Shadow, the dog, also great protector of Sam. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Return of the Cowgirl.

Wow
Wow, a romance with danger and suspense for the heroine and very protective hero. A missing sister who is being hunted thrown into the mix.

Didn’t think much of this. No character development.
No depth of relationship. Just ‘wow he's so hot’ and ‘I want to get into bed with her’... to I love you...move in with me...marry me. maybe if there was more about the dog and the horse it would have been better.

Exciting
What an exciting story. Again strong characters and what a story plot. Fast moving and had me on the edge of my seat. Love the animals. I really did enjoy this book.

Never have I ever
Read a book that was so excessively descriptive about food, thoughts and sex. The repetition and the unnecessary inner monologue just dragged everything. Like literally one of them would have a paragraph if not longer talking to themselves. And the only concept that he’s not a player but he’s dated half the town didn’t vibe with me. Like I don’t care how nice he is if every female say oh we went out for a little but it wasn’t that serious and he’s a nice guy it doesn’t gel well.

There are some series that I simply become invested in the outcome of the various secondary characters knowing that one day their stories will be told. It’s been that way with The Gallaghers of Montana from the first story. This is a pretty amazing family who has had to face some difficult challenges, yet they’ve always been believable and realistic people to me, and when I can view characters as old friends it’s so much easier to fall into the next story without a lot of catching up to do.
Dylan has always been that man who loves women. He’s not a player, not in any sense of that word. Sure he loves women, but he also respects them and all of his exes can call him friend, even years after their last date. He simply hasn’t felt the need, like his brothers, to settle down with one woman. until Samantha came into his life. With her he’s falling fast and for a time will be just a bit clueless as to why she’s different. But when it hits him, the truth is an easy decision to follow through on.
Sam is a recent transplant to Marietta from Dallas. The hospital is growing in leaps and bounds and now the need for specialized medical personnel is outweighing what the town can provide locally. She is a talented, fearless surgeon who also is, or war, deeply involved in working with abused women. An incident in Dallas changed that. She’s not looking for a romantic entanglement, especially not with a born flirt and suspected player like Dylan. Yet her will to keep avoiding this handsome, stubborn cowboy is quickly wearing thin.
The Cowboy and The Doctor is such a smooth romance with gripping suspense woven throughout. Sam is is danger and Dylan will do everything in his power to protect her – even when she’s stubborn enough to refuse his help. I don’t want to go deeply into the suspense aspect of this story other than to say that it’s a riveting, intriguing part of their romance and will keep you quickly turning pages. I enjoyed Dylan and Samantha’s romance so much, it’s full of sweet and sexy, danger and shelter. They make a believable couple facing danger together. I don’t feel you “have” to have read the earlier books in this series to enjoy their romance – but they are such good stories, I can’t imagine why you’d pass up the chance to add more romance to your life… just my opinion.
I would definitely recommend this story to any Romance reader who enjoys a good, solid story, a bit of mystery, some sexy moments, interesting secondary characters and a love that shines through the pages.

This was an enjoyable romance although I would have liked a little more attention paid to the initial romance. The book is basically in two parts. First there is the romantic attraction between Dylan Gallagher, the titular cowboy and Samantha Striker, the doctor. He’s immediately attracted to the new doctor in town when he meets her at the hospital. Samantha has moved to this small Montana town from Texas after bad experience with romance. Plus, she used to volunteer at a women’s shelter and had witnessed some vicious attacks by men on their wives and girlfriends. She’s decided that she didn’t want to get involved with any man in her new town, especially one with a reputation for playing the field.
And Dylan has that reputation. He’s a charmer, and has dated many women. However, as Samantha is told, all his former girlfriends are still friends with him. He’s a very good-natured and caring man. He rescues abandoned dogs and cares about his employees.
Right there is the set-up for a good romance. I would have liked more of the tensions Samantha felt about whether or not to begin a romance with Dylan. However, that was all wrapped up pretty quickly and the two get together and seem to be building a strong relationship.
Once they get together, we have a thriller-sort of plot as she has a stalker who is increasingly stepping up his attacks on her. Since the reader knows who the stalker is, the tension is just about whether or not he’ll succeed or how Dylan and and the adorable dog that Samantha has adopted will be able to protect her. Maybe because the readers know who the bad guy is, I just felt a bit impatient with them for not figuring it out sooner, but it was still enjoyable to read along with them as their relationship deepens and they work to build on that while staying safe.

This romantic suspense story is a delightful addition to this series and tells of the romance between the youngest - and only bachelor - Gallagher brother, Dylan and Doctor Samantha (Sam) Striker. He has a reputation for never being in a serious relationship, he’s dated lots of women but never for long and always remains friends with them after they split up. She has made some poor choices for dates in the past and is now wary of going out with any man, doubting her own ability to discern if the man is trustworthy or not.
Despite Sam’s reticence, Dylan is determined to win her over to go on at least one date with him. As their romance grows, however, so do the incidents around them, escalating in the peril associated with them. As they realise that someone from her past is out to harm Sam, can they identify the perpetrator before he succeeds?
It isn’t only the people who are the great characters in this story - the horses and dogs also have key roles, especially Trouble and Shadow! The reader knows the identity of Sam’s stalker but this just adds to the tension as Dylan, Sam and the others struggle to identify him. It is a great read as they strive to keep each other safe whilst their love, understanding and relationship grow. I love this author’s writing style as she immerses the reader in the action packed story, making it easy to empathise and relate to the characters, feeling their tension, angst and turmoil. The story ends on a real cliff hanger moment and I can’t wait to discover what has happened to Dylan’s missing sister, who I assume will be the main character in the next book in this series!

The story ends on a real cliff hanger moment and I can’t wait to discover what has happened to Dylan’s missing sister, who I assume will be the main character in the next book in this series!

Dylan Gallagher works hard on his ranch where he breeds horses. He's a friendly sort of man who seems to have dated a lot of women all over town. I found this a little unbelievable given that he hadn't ever fallen for a woman. I let it pass but it was irritating for it to be brought up more than warranted.
Samantha Striker is a trauma surgeon from Texas who has a guarded heart. I found the dialogue and her personality to be immature for her work title and age. She is guarded from finding the wrong men. Yet, she falls for Dylan very easily and without a lot of hesitation.
There were parts of the book I found irritating and unnecessary. There were conversations and arguments within the character's mind that I found to be distracting from the story. There were a few times it was warranted. Like within the villain's mind, that was perfectly fine. But other times, it was unnecessary and annoying, to be honest.
Despite the irritating and annoying bits, I did find myself wanting to find out what was going to happen and the romance was okay. I found it was a little too easy, but I overlooked it to find what was happening.
I didn't read the rest of the series, so the ending did catch me off guard. It was abrupt to say the least.

A good story with great characters and dialogue and so well written, I loved it! I’ve read this kind of plot before, but in “The cowboy and the Doctor” it all flows smoothly and skillfully and you really take pleasure in reading it.
Of course there’s this charming hero, Dylan, you cannot but fall for him. While he’s far from my being my usual favorite kind of hero (the wounded hero), he’s really captivating, a flirt, as we are told. I loved him! Eve Gaddy creates a multi-layered character that is gradually revealed: Dylan is kind, understanding, non-judgmental, compassionate; he’s also strong, sensitive (he even has defined music preferences and he’s not afraid of the “L” word) and loves a good laugh.
Add a strong heroine, Sam, a horse named Trouble and an adopted stray dog named Shadow (that turn out best friends), an interesting setting where horses play a major role and you have a really satisfying and enjoyable story. 4 solid stars!

I truly enjoyed The Cowboy and the Doctor by Eve Gaddy, the fourth book in The Gallaghers of Montana. Dylan Gallagher does not get serious with any woman he dates. He is too busy working with his horses and his ranch. All things change once he meets Dr. Samantha Striker. After a number of bad relationships, Samantha plays it hard to get, not even falling for Dylan’s heart-melting charm. However, the more time they spend together, the sexier their relationship becomes. A problem arises when Samantha is threatened by a number of incidents, each one scarier that the last. Can they find the man responsible before his dangerous actions turn deadly? Will Dylan and Samantha lose the one person they know they can’t live without?
This was an enjoyable book with likeable and authentic characters. Ms. Gaddy is a wonderful story teller and I had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I definitely recommend this book to other readers.

Some of my favorite authors write for Tule Publishing. Eve is one of them! She has shown again how to write a story to pull you into your Reading. Samantha moved to Marietta to work as a trauma surgeon after moving away from a deadly damage. Major Spoiler! She runs into Dylan and goes to visit his ranch. He raises Norwegian Fjord horses and has one that is dangerous. Trouble kicked his manager and went to the hospital and finds cancer. Dylan has to hire a new man who won't clean stalls, hates the horses and hates the new rescue dog. Feelings are mutual! Someone siphoned her gas, slashes her tires and used it throwing a bomb into Sam's bedroom. Now she is worried about the problem she moved away from. There is a hard end to this story. You must read to the end to see how it ends! Check out this book. Don't let it get away! You won't regret it! Enjoy reading this story! I volunteered to read and review this book.

Eve Gaddy’s fourth Gallagher book, The Cowboy and the Doctor may just be my favorite. I liked the suspense part of the story as much as the romance. In fact, that element was a pleasant surprise that I didn’t expect. The story flows smooth with good guys and bad, along with some awesome dogs and horses. The kind of story that draws you in to the Gallagher world.
Dylan like his brothers is a good guy just not a doctor. He is all cowboy, with his love for horses and dogs clearly showing through Young and older would fall for this good-natured cowboy he is certainly irresistible. Samantha Striker is a little on the prickly side but she grew on me. The suspense surrounds her without her knowledge. Early on you know the stalker, but it is a guessing game as for his true identity.
I would recommend this story to all romance fans who enjoy a lively story with a happy ending.

Two persons neither of which is looking for romance and certainly not love, meet and find just that. Add in a deranged stalker and things get scary. Dylan Gallagher is the last of the Gallagher boys to be single and he rather likes it that way. Sure he’s had lots of girlfriends but nothing that lasted very long. And, all of his exes still like him anyway. Dr. Samantha Sinclair is a fairly new resident of Marietta and she has no desire to be a loser in love again, especially with a guy like Dylan that to her is just another player. But, the more time they spend together the less she can resist him. Then there’s the whole stalker doing crazy, escalating things to Samantha that drives her and Dylan closer together. And, of course, there’s a loveable, protective rescue dog to just adore.

The blurb was so interesting, I wanted to start it as soon as I got it, but I had a lot of issues with this one.
Chapter 1: how does a doctor detect a patient has cancer when she's doing an emergency liver repair on him? The thing has to go into biopsy 1st before anyone can say if it's cancer or not.
Chapter 2: Said patient still needs his physician to make him do the tests and find out more, but the doctor must have physic powers because during surgery she knows he's already in stage II cancer and has 5 years to live.
A lot more things that just weren't realistic.
DNFed at chapter 6. The writing style wasn't for me. Too repetitive with how each phrase started: Dylan was here. Dylan entered. Dylan saw. Dylan. Dylan. Dylan. It was exhausting.

A nice and easy read with a HEA, but not without a bit of suspense thrown in. Having only read the third book on the series prior to this one, I've found that the author does a fine job of weaving prior characters into her current stories. Within having read the first books in the series did not deter me from being able to follow the story lines from the earlier stories.
Even though Dylan and Sam found their HEA in this story, it ends with an enticing cliff hanger involving the long missing sister, Glenna.

The Cowboy and the Doctor is the latest addition to Eve Gaddy's contemporary western Gallaghers of Montana series. Set in and around the picturesque town of Marietta, this book has that warm and inviting feel I've come to expect from this series. Dylan is the only one of the four Gallagher brothers who is not a doctor — he's a rancher focused on breeding Norwegian Fjörd horses — but his interest in the land doesn't stop him falling for trauma surgeon Samantha Striker when he first sets eyes on her. This story is heartwarming with a hint of sexy, is peopled with believable characters, and was a pleasure to read.

Dylan has never been one for serious relationships. He has remained friends with all of his ex-girlfriends cause he really is that nice of a guy. Sam came to town from Dallas after an incident made her decide she needed a fresh start. She is not looking for love, but there Dylan is. When someone starts threatening her safety, Dylan steps up to protect her. Together they solve the mystery of who is behind the threats and in the process find a second chance at love. Two damaged souls learn to love again. Great read.

The Cowboy and the Doctor is a very good read. The characters are fully formed and the setting is vivid. The reader is able to fully integrate into the story and never feels as if they have missed anything from the other books in the series. I will warn that the reader will want to go and read about the other Gallagher Brothers.

VERY ENJOYABLE STORY!!!
Really enjoyed this book! There is something about the way Eve writes that "speaks"to me. All of her characters come alive for me.... Her descriptions of people, animals, especially dogs, and scenes helps me to see the story as if I am watching a live play! This was a beautiful, sexy, sweet and suspenseful story..... I think Eve's characters act the same way normal every day people would which adds to the pleasure of reading the book!!!

3.50 It’s the youngest Gallagher brother turn to fall in love. Dylan is known as a lady’s man. He wasn’t a typical player, as all his ex-girlfriends remain his friend. Not quite sure how it pulls that off, must be his cowboy charm.
Dylan falls quickly for Dr. Sam. Sam is cautious, as she hasn’t had the best past where men are concern. Everything is going well for these two until a mysterious stalker enters Sam’s live.
It is an enjoyable read, but nothing makes this story stand out from others with similar plots.

This romance takes place in Marietta, Montana a well knit community. Dr. Samantha Striker is relatively new to Marietta and works as a trauma surgeon. Sam meets Dylan Gallagher when his top ranch hand gets injured by a fiesty horse. Dylan is well liked by the ladies and never really wanted a commitment until he finds himself drawn to the new and beautiful doctor. Sam doesn't trust easy because of her experiences in the past but shes drawn to Dylan who she finds to be honest, handsome and hardworking. A thoroughly great read!

Just reading along enjoying Samantha and Dylan trying not to fall for each other, and then wham danger and growing fear and I'm going to drop my rating to four stars cause I don't like being scared and it's not fair Samantha was in danger because of good deeds she had done.
But I kept it at five stars because it was that good and it was the good writing that had me enough into the scenes to be scared.

This was a very intense story.
Dylan is the last single Gallagher brother. Samantha is a trauma surgeon at the hospital who has sworn off men. But there is an instant attraction between the two.
There was plenty of drama in the story with a stalker going after Samantha. Dylan and Samantha are both very stubborn, but really likable characters. They really worked well together. And Shadow was awesome as well. He added a lot to the story.
I love the Gallagher family.

Book four is the story of Dylan and Samantha. I loved this suspenseful read. Sam is wary about going out with Dylan because of her three prior relationships. When Dylan finally gets her to agree to go out, the unexpected happens and she gets a loyal companion in Shadow. It turns out that Shadow is a lifesaver. No spoilers, so grab your copy and get ready to fall in love with the youngest Gallagher brother.
