As I have said in the past, this is one of my favorite series and authors. The story continues to grow and encompass all the characters from past books so you get a feel of continuity, the stories are all interconnected. I am always glad that there are new types of supernaturals introduced as potential mates so you do not have only the usual suspects. Great characters, great locations, great situations, and great dialogue.
Jake Louviere realizes that as his Alpha rises he can no longer deny what is happening to him. His beast starts to insist that he take his rightful place as Alpha even if that means killing his friend if he will not leave Acadian Wolves. He has to decide whether to commit that betrayal or to leave New Orleans forever and move across the country. When a mysterious woman shows up on his doorstep he is wary of the creature that he senses is not a wolf.
Kai Beckett has been hiding her true nature and identity her whole life in order to conceal herself from those who would steal her ancient powers. When her sister is taken she has no choice but to try and find her and she intends to enlist the help of the Alpha who left San Diego and the pack to return home to NOLA. Kai makes things more complicated however because she does not go directly to Jake but heads to someone who wants what she has and the chase is on.
There are danger and intrigue at every turn for these two and anyone helping them.

YES!!! Jake is finally here!!! It seems like I have been waiting for a very long time for this book. Kym Grosso you did not disappoint with this fabulous book. This book grabs you from page one. Jake and Kai are just perfect for each other, an I am so glad that Jake finally found his Mate and claimed his Alpha status. This book is a fast paced, sexy, steamy, with action, fabulously fun read. For readers that are new to this author Kym Grosso and love paranormal reads you will want to start with Kade's Dark Embrace. I love this book and this series. I Highly Recommend this book. You won't regret a moment of the time it takes to read.

This series just gets better and better with each book!!!
It seems like fans have been waiting forever for this book but it was so worth the wait!!! Jake's story is a bit unique in this series, but so much the better for the difference! From the very beginning we are drawn in and held captive until the very last page!
Jake just wants to be what he has always been, an Acadian wolf with no ties to anything but his pack. But Fate has other ideas for him, no matter how hard he fights! His story will take us from the bayous of Louisiana to New Orleans, all the way to the West Coast. Lots of unexpected twists and turns along the way!!!
Come along for the ride of your (or Jake's) life. Whether this is your first book in the series or you've read every one, you won't be able to put it down until the very last page!!!
Oh, and that epilogue!!!! WOW!!!!

Seriously?! I wasn’t expecting that Jake would be much more different that Leopold’s Wicked Embrace but…
So why bother reading it you ask? As I have written in my previous reviews, I’m attracted to the series because it was refreshingly different and fun at the time when I initially read the first couple of books in 2014. However, I expected the series to grow and diversify and that, as I read in 2017, has not happened. I'd like a little story with the sex please!
To say the least, I’m still disappointed in the stagnation of this series. Not to beat a dead horse but here goes the plot for the last four books:
1. Damsel in distress who has been in hiding and needs rescuing;
2. Kinky alpha male that will help said damsel bring out her deepest desires—which just happen to match said rescuer's proclivities—while saving said damsel;
3. Vampire acquaintance/friend who uses vampiric wisdom and strength to aid alpha male in his quest to save damsel;
4. Ménage à trois (vamp, wolf and whatever damsel turns out to be);
5. To the letter dialogue between mates, in and out of the bedroom;
6. A witch or demon with an agenda nobody knows; and
7. Said mates, despite everything, live happily ever after.
Is it wrong to just expect more when you start reading a great series?! Everything the author has created is in her favor for success of this series…the location—New Orleans for goodness sake!, beautiful creatures, the diverseness of the characters—vampires, wolves, witches, demons and all the magick available to tap into yet…I digress.
If there is another book written in this series I will probably stupidly read it hoping that miraculously it will have something the series has been sorely lacking of late--excitement, adventure and newness!

Been waiting for this book for what seems like ages. Jake is a character that has appeared in several book in the series Immortals of New Orleans and he grew on me.

During this time a mysterious woman comes into the bayou, but Jake is very weary of the creature who is not a wolf.
As much as he is drawn to her this beautiful but dangerous woman is kidnapped by a very powerful New York Vampire. And Jake is angry and swears retribution.
For centuries, Kai Beckett concealed her true identity from those who would steal her ancient powers. Now she finds her self seeking help from an Alpha to help her find her sister, and save her.
From New Orleans to Southern California, Jake and Kai are surrounded danger. Learning to trust each other, they fight lethal enemies and the irresistible connection binding them together. Jake is the best eighth installment of the Immortals of New Orleans series and what a story!! Action, adventure, surprises and smoking hot sex!!
I have been waiting for this book since I ended Jax! It was so worth the wait!! Author Kym Grosso did not disappoint Jake and Kai story like no other in the series. Kai is so different from all the other characters. Yes she is a shifter but something new something we were just introduced to in Jake. She is a fascinating creature.
Jake is an alpha no matter how much he doesn't want to accept that fact!! Kai is going to test him with everything she has and this makes for some extremely hot and explosive scenes. When you throw Quintus in the mix yes more and more twist! Just when you think you have it all figured out BOOM!! You're wrong.
This was my first paranormal series I ever read and it cause me to love PNR. If you have t read this series please go now. This book can be read as a standalone but you get so much more out of it by reading the series.

I received an ARC of this book which I voluntarily reviewed.
Sometimes when you have waited not so patiently for the next book in a series, it's a disappointment when it finally arrives. This is so not the case with the latest in Kym Grosso's Immortals of New Orleans series! This book was amazing! Jake and Kai's story grabs you at the very start and doesn't let up to the very end. I'm usually a very fast reader but I found myself slowing down for this one, I really didn't want to get to the end! I have endless admiration for an author who can produce a series with so many books and still make each book incredible. Believe me, you need Jake and Kai in your lives! (Oh, and Quint, I loved him in this book! ) Now back to the not so patient waiting!

Another Hit!
Kym Grosso's Immortals of New Orleans is captivating. It spans the country dealing with different preternatural /supernatural creatures, their lives their loves and good versus evil.
Jake was sent to straighten out a pack in Southern California, not keep them. Or so he thought. Returning home he encounters a female, unknown to him he thinks she's a witch. Enter Quintus and the story takes off from there. A wild ride that I enjoyed immensely.

This is one of my favorite series by Kym Grosso. And I've been waiting on Jake's story. It's full of danger, drama, intrigue and lots of hot wolfy sex!! This book kept me completely engaged from the time I opened it up until I read the last page! What a ride!! And now................. I NEED the next story!!!

Seemed forever til this released! I dont always get to books on release day. Most I do NOT! Jake was the exception! I was waiting forever it seems! It was sooo worth the wait Kym! Brilliant and it flew oh so fast reading about him and Kai.
Jake has a really hard time accepting the he and his beast are changing. I think deep down he's always known it but he grew comfortable being who he was until his wolfie said no...just no. I think most of the book he still struggled with it. I dont think he had time to really come to terms because of everything goin on with Kai and Quint and the pack he left behind in California. There are some definite surprises along the way in this book. I do wish we got to know about Jake's past a little more but honestly its ok and it worked out. Kai that poor woman has been in hiding since she was a child. She is quite a rare creature and her sister isnt the same but powerful in her own right and is missing. Kai is very determined to find her. Even putting herself at risk and she keeps making a few mistakes along the way until she comes into contact with Jake. Something about him draws her and her "other". They cant be together because she's not wolf and only wolves mate with wolves...right? Magic and fate always find a way as we get to learn all kinds of interesting things! Quint...I wasnt sure what to think of that vampire in the last book. He's quite different from Kade and Leo. Way different and way older. Very powerful and kinda quirky in his way. I really enjoyed reading about him and cant wait for his book. I very much enjoyed Jake and although it was a bit of a wait it was worth it! Love this series. Its one of my favorites. This series gets stronger and stronger as it goes!
If you're looking for a fantastic PNR, something super freaking sexy and with amazing storylines then this is definitely the series for you :D
This storyline was so so different from anything I have read before. It was refreshing and exciting and I couldn't wait to discover all of Kai's secrets.
Kai is so strong, fierce, protective and devoted...

Jake is amazing. Blindingly beautiful, loyal, brave and loves with his entire soul.

Wow. This series its getting better and better. Jake almost made me forget about Kade (#1), Luca (#2), Tristan (#3), Logan (#4), Leopold (#5), Dimitri (#6), and Jax (#7) eh eh…

There are times kai is one jealous woman, “see, they’ll be fine. Let’s go. Now.”Kai glared at Jake; her beast would not wait. Nothing would get between her and her Alpha..." I really liked this book, I am dying for the next book in this series, I need to know what happens.

Loved every single word of this book. From the very first word to the last it is very exciting always something happening. Cannot wait to see who's book will be next. While you read this book you will feel like you are right in the middle of the whole story along with each character.

JAKE by Kym Grosso! I am a bonafide Immortals of New Orleans fanatic and waited patiently (NOT) for this release and I must say, it was so worth the wait! Jake and Kai ...... OMG, such heat! I held me breath more reading this, sat on the edge of my seat and cried!!!!! This is a love story, a mystery and an adult read beyond my expectations! I will not give any hints but to say I LOVED IT! And Kym's choice of a cover model was spot on! Reading this, Travis WAS Jake and made the read even better!!!!!!!! LUCA # 1 and Jake just pushed Dimitri to #3!!!!!!! GREAT READ!!!!!!!!!

The 8th book of Ms. Kym Grosso's Immortals of New Orleans. As a follower of her books, also a reader, I was excited on how this will turn up. I enjoyed the previous sneak peak of each book at the end of the previous books, and I must say, I look forward to reading this book. I must say, it was better that I was expecting.
As much as I'd like to say that i knew Jake from book one, I can't. It was hard to place his name, I only knew him on Jax's book. But it did not stop me from liking him.
I like his personality. I mean, he was so different for the other Alpha's in the series. He denied his nature up to the point that he forcibly handed his pack to another Alpha. Then again, Fate will never be deterred. Hence, Kai. It took one special being for him to realize his true calling.
Kai, on the other hand, i can clearly understand her reluctant to meet with supernaturals.It is all because of what she is. The life she had was not something I would wish upon anyone. And it did not help matters that Jake is an Alpha, at the same time, both of them are attracted to each other. Throw in Quint, and we have an unlike trio.
I must say, in Jax's book, they nearly killed each other, but here? Man! I am left speechless on how they interacted with each other.
Jake's book made me cry several times. I can feel the hopelessness of Kai. How she did her best to conceal her true nature, trying so hard to stop avoid people for they would either kill her, or they would die. And each time she doubts herself, Jake would banish it by proving himself. And that made me realize how much he cares.
Both of them denied their true nature. An Alpha, who needs is reluctant to part with the pack he love, and a being that is so rare, that they killed those who protect her. Yet Fate bought them together. Not to posses each other, but to make them realize their role in the world they live in.
And falling in love? None of them wanted it, yet it happened. It was the clincher in this book. When the marked appeared, I cried. It was the most pivotal moment in the book.
I gave it 5 stars, due to the tears it made me shed. From Quint and Jake's banner, to the way Jake treated Kai.
More power! I look forward to Quint's book.

I feel bad that I gave this book under 4 stars (I am also in the minority here!) but I didn't really enjoy this book all that much. I saw myself skimming a lot and had to force myself to finish. This is only the 3rd book I've read and went back and noticed I also gave lower scores on those too.
The story starts with Jake at crossroads with what he wants in his life, his wolf is urging him to become alpha but the human side knows he would either have to kill his alpha in New Orleans or leave and go back to San Diego where he was the temporary alpha. Since I've only read book 1 and 3 in this series (and this is book 8) I was in the dark on why he was the temporary alpha and why he left. This may be one of the reasons why I did not connect with this story. He then meets Kai who he is drawn to but a bit leery of her, especially since she attacks him (she was weak and could not stop herself). She is swooped in and taken away by a vampire, Quin (who Jake had an altercation with previously) and this is where the story sort of takes off. There is a lot of internal struggles of being mates or not, being alpha or not, shifting or not and a lot of talking. I think this is when I started skimming, I actually started to gloss over while reading and I just wanted to get to the next chapter and find out what happened. The sexy times were sexy I have to say, I'm not much into threesomes but sometimes they can be interesting, this one was okay.
All in all, I feel really bad posting this review, this book and possibly the series just did not do it for me.

The appearance of a strange female on his doorstep starts a whole new adventure and many battles for him to face. She may be his answer or his ending.
Dr Kai Beckett has hidden herself from the rest of the supernatural community for most of her long life. She is a very special being. Now her sister has been kidnapped Kai is willing to sacrifice anything to save her. Unfortunately for her the very price she is asked to pay is beyond her control. If she cannot control her own body how can she allow an evil being that power.
There is one other character that plays a very big part in this story but I will not spoil it by telling you who.
This is a fantastic story that is so HOT it nearly melted my kindle. It's still steaming. Although this is part of a series you can easily read it as a stand alone. But be warned once you start this series you will get addicted and have to read them all. I have, and trust me, they are all great, and all very different. This book was phenomenal and I don't even know where to start. Let me start off by saying how much I already love this series and I was really excited when the author had a set release date. From the moment the cover came out, I was counting down to release day.
Jake started off with a bang and the action kept going on from there and when Quintus, the volatile and kind of creepy vampire was added to the mix, the storyline went crazy.
Jake had been working through his own inner turmoil after Jax told him some new information in the previous book. It made Jake reevaluate his life and brought him to some conclusions that he had not been ready to face. He was no longer a follower and in order to survive, he had to face becoming a leader. First step in this mission was to find out about a mysterious woman named Kai who he was connected to more than he realized.
Kai was on the run and had been for years, but when her sister went missing, she seeks out the help of Jake and Quintus in the hopes of gaining their support in her quest. This leads her and the others on a journey that puts them in the sights of someone very powerful and dangerous. It also uncovers secrets that have been buried for a long time and possibly give more power to an enemy who they once defeated.
Jake tried to deny his feelings for Kai because his kind only mated with other wolves, but fate being the fickle thing it is had other ideas. I won't divulge the creature that Kai is, but what I will say is that I did not see that coming.
Let's take a moment to ask about those special scenes that gives us all the feels. Oh. My. Word! There were some really hot ones here. Steaminess level was at code red with Kai and Jake, but as soon as Quintus dipped his...err toe in the water it became white hot. I think you will be very happy with all that the author came up with in those sequences. I was :)
The ending was heart stopping and left me hanging on for dear life, but the ride was glorious!

I devoured this 5 star book as fast as I could. Jake has been around in previous books and slowly becoming a familiar character. It is with excitement, I recommend this incredible story for you to read. YOu will want to read it through, nonstop. Kym Grosso takes us on Jakes journey. His struggle of having Alpha blood in his veins and not wanting to fight Logan for the title, despite it being his destiny. He has to decide if he fights for the Alpha spot in New Orleans or depart this place with Kia and return to his old pack. Ok, no more spoilers 😊 If you are not a fan yet, you will be hooked on this series. I did not read them all in order but they all tie in together and better if one after the other is read. You will thirst for the next book, promise! There will be Suspense, Adventure, Danger, Romance, Chemistry, Sexual Tension and Super Hot Lovemaking. The plot is very well written and every bookworm's dream. Details of New Orleans as always, Kym Grosso does not disappoint in delivering a high quality book with good research that you won't want to put down. Buy it, it is so worth it!

Massive Love!!!
I just bloody love this series so much.
This has to be one of the best PnR series I've read. There's no holding back on anything with these books. They are addictive hot as Hell and they will just consume you completely until the last page.
This is Jake Story. I just love him.
Jake has been ignoring his calling to Alpha for a while he's quite happy with his pack and never really wanted to take on one of his own.
But fate has other ideas. When a beautiful stranger trespasses on his land Jake's life will never be the same again.
Kia has been in hiding all her life hiding what she is from those who want to use her for their own gains.
She's drawn to Jake wanting his help she feels a pull towards him and doesn't know why. Neither does Jake but he intends to find out. Especially when an ancient Vampire is part of the mystery. A certain Vamp that Jake has a grudge against for personal reasons.
He won't rest until he finds him and finds out the reason the beautiful mysterious stranger wants his help.
I loved everything about this book and I'm looking forward to finding out more about the sexy Vamp too.

Jake is the 8th book in Kym Grosso's Immortals of New Orleans series, and a series that I one click because I absolutely love it. This book was awesome! I was hooked from the first chapter and did not put it down. Ok, so I did have to put it down in order to adult but I did not want to. There was action and heat to this one. The action kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting for what would happen next. This series is one of those that really needs to be read in order, if not you could get lost because of the references to events in prior books.
