It's always an illuminating and enlightening experience when you have the chance to read two different versions of essentially the same story. I like seeing the differences in the writing style - how it gets more refined and detailed, as well as the improvements that the author makes to their works - some work well, others, maybe not so much. 🤷🏻♀️ The kicker is that Goodreads doesn't allow me to review either edition separately, so here's my analysis comparing the two, which you should know well enough by now will never be just a simple review. 😌
So, this is pretty much the short story leading up to Walter's eventual proposal to Kelly in front of their loved ones, which sadly also comes on the tails of the much-anticipated, much-thirsted over, much- highly-regarded release of Frozen, Disney's latest endeavor that has Kelly in a chokehold. 🫡 It's an endearing thing to see him so excessively smitten, one that has its perks as he gets him all riled up and deliriously frisky that is always met with no complaints from Walter, of course.
“Mine. He’s going to be mine. Officially. Forever.”
What stood out for me in the first rough cut was that it was much shorter. It had its sweet and sexy moments, but a lot of key moments were condensed into well, a sentence or so. The writing was a bit more on the simpler side, but it still managed to capture the intensity of their shared emotions and the visceral connection their passion ignited whenever Kelly indulged them with his contagious Disney fetish, and Walter was smitten with Kelly's adoration for it. 🥰
It's the best example of what we do for those we love. Sweet, very honest, very affectionate, very Walter-like of how his woes and troubles all melted away whenever Kelly was near, how he was willingly resigned to do anything to keep that beautiful smile on his fiancé's face. 🥹 How even when he can't understand Kelly's infatuations, he is more than happy to sate them both with his insatiable desires. They're still young, but so hopelessly in love that shines with how they just are so in sync. 🫶🏻👌🏻
In the edited revised version, we get a lot more grounded and proofread look into the days leading up to Frozen's release, and also a bit more depth into Walter's proposal! Which was a lot sweeter than I remembered! I liked that the author expanded on certain moments - like the proposal, the morning after, and ofc, the Tangled cosplay bedroom scene!
“He kissed the man he loved, lingeringly, on the mouth. “Go get into your tower, Rapunzel, so I can break and enter.”
Kelly kissed him back, biting him lightly on the lip. “Don’t keep me waiting too long, Eugene.”
So blessed, so grateful the author extended it! 😅 It was so funny, and so ridiculously cheesy, but flirty, with their playful banter, but so them!! ❤️🔥😏 It was kinky and hot, and also funny, and sweet, and also so very tender in how Walter felt so overwhelmed in that one instance, which immediately Kelly sensed and captured his heart whole - never letting go. 🥺❤️🩹 'Walter—Walter, I never dreamed…' It was only briefly mentioned in the rough cut, so I am grateful that for whatever reason the author chose to write it out in detail, she decided to do so. 🙏🏻
Where I do feel the downside of having to write out all the feels, was the moment they finally did go and watch Frozen - where in fact, I actually preferred the original version, rather than having Walter's entire train of thought while watching it for the first time.It was exhausting to have it spelled out for me, and kinda took the fun out of it. 😮💨 I liked it when they just returned to their car and were dumbfounded into silence at how much their own love story mirrored Anna and Elsa's own dynamic.
“He’d known this was what had happened when fate threw them together in that dorm at Hope. He just hadn’t quite realized Kelly would melt him all over again every single day.
Or how much he would love the way melting felt.”
Yet, regardless of which version it was, I'm glad we got to see a glimpse into how they've impacted each other's lives in the most beautiful and heartwarming of ways. There was never any doubt or change in how much they meant to each other, of how 'Kelly’s innocence, his optimism, and the steadfastness and tenderness which, like Anna leading Elsa, taught Walter how to believe in love', a love that can melt a Frozen Heart., and even at times, managed to melt mine, as well. 🩵☃️🩵

Ok, I LOVED Love Lessons and when Heidi announced on twitter that this was a short follow-up freebie on her site, I might have embarrassed myself by jumping up and down in a very undignified manner.
I literally hid in the bathroom, away from my family so I could devour it.
This is such a cute and adorable little snippet. It takes place right near the end of Love Lessons and sort of fills in a little bit of the time before the ending.
To say I loved this one too, would be an understatement.
Kelly is still his adorable Disney obsessed self and Walter, oh Walter is just *sigh* the sweetest guy ever.
I admit I've read it twice already and know I'm going to be rereading it again soon.

This was a cute extended epilogue. But, I'm not going to lie...Kelly's Disney fetish in this one weirded me out a bit.
And in further truth telling, I do believe I'll be watching Tangled and Frozen soon since I've never seen them.

Such an adorable short read that intertwines with the epilogue of #1 Love Lessons. Kelly is highly anticipating the release of the new Disney movie Frozen.... and by highly, I mean:
...in a good way of course.
His excitement involves Walter too. Quite the scene there when the trailer was released! LOL ;)
Walter is concocting his own epic happily ever after and is shivering from both excitement and nerves.

This was kind of an extended epilogue. With a proposal. And a ton of Disney. Unfortunately this didn't work for me at all. Sweetness overload. And the Disney thing got almost creepy.

What a fun and short read with Kelly and Walter again. I loved every word of it. The thought, care and worry that Walter went through for the proposal and his simple adoration of Kelly is always lovely to read. Oh and I still love how turned on Kelly gets via Disney movies.

Dude!! I love Tangled, like a lot, but let's not get carried away with the 'good message'. Baby girl gets kidnapped and every year for 18 years her parents show they continue to mourn her by setting lanterns into the sky along with all the people of their kingdom. Something she watches from her tower, where she is an unknown prisoner, and hopes to one day see the lantern spectacle without knowing it's really for her. Yes there are other messages but let us not forget the kidnapping and everyone losing out on 18 years shall we?

I don't have posters and play sets but it's honestly not something that's outside the realm of possibility that this could happen one day. So this made me laugh, was ridiculously sweet and made me feel less crazy.

Wow. I can't get over how much wonderful Heidi Cullinan was able to pack into the Walter and Kelly short story.
I almost didn't pick this up because we had seen the proposal in anther book.
This is so worth it. All the Disney and loving your partner and awww.

I am one with the wind and sky....
This was hysterical because I was absolutely like a puppy wiggling at the back door the week before I saw Frozen.
This 19 page document is brilliant. Just beautiful. Like the movie.
Here I am. In the light of day.
When the screen went black, a cappella chanting started and the Disney logo emerged, however, Kelly went completely still laser-focused on the screen.
By now, he should have been accustomed to the fact that somehow watching kids movies with his lover would always melt his cynical heart, but it still shocked him.
Doppelganger.
Also hysterical, I excitedly showed this song to my dad, who was just like walter " unimpressed with anything animated ". LOL.

Downloaded this from Heidi's website. Poor Walter (<3), yet another Kelly obsession with a Disney film, this time Frozen BUT the marriage proposal surely takes precedence over the film although the actual proposal itself isn't featured but does take place in book 2, Fever Pitch. 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars for this freebie from one of my favourite series of all.

Kelly is super cute, but it's scary how much he reminds me of my 5 year old daughters, I mean I really really don’t want to think about it.
Disney sex is probably the kinkiest thing I have ever read!
And I will never watch Tangled the same ever again!

I just saw this and so had to add it :)
Walter, Oh god, he is just so sweet. Melted my heart. Right there.
And it was so sweet of him to buy the CD Soundtrack, plus tickets to another screening and dragging Kelly to the next Toys R US - he knew just what he would want to do *sniffls*
I am so happy to see Walter and Kelly again ♥ I missed them..
So, first thing I did, watch the Frozen teaser trailer *cough**cough*
Coz yeah, I haven't seen anything bout the movie until last night; and yes I admit now I'd like to watch it.I will be seeing Walter and Kelly though, instead of those sisters *laugh*
The other day I saw a picture of two boys in front of the castle in Disney World - how can I not think of Kelly and Walter? =D
I would love to "see" them at Disney World - maybe for Kelly's birthday? :)
