It was hard for me to feel excited about Ivy and Liam’s story and their relationship. The writing was really bad, the pacing was inconsistent, the dialogues felt unnatural and forced.

The structure of some of the chapters was very confusing. I was reading about their first date and then suddenly, mid conversation, the scene was no longer about their first date, but a later one („he’s been an ass for the last two weeks” - how did we suddenly skip weeks?)…

Also, I wish we (readers) got to experience things happening instead of being told that they have happened - there were multiple instances of this, eg. we were told that the main characters have kissed, but we were never given a scene of their first kiss, etc. I found this author’s writing style very frustrating and made it impossible for me to get invested in the story.

The dialogues between Ivy and Liam often felt forced and unnatural. Their conversations felt like a bunch of separate statements, not an exchange between two people. And almost everything Gina said when Liam got hurt was her repeating herself, over and over again. I get that she was nervous given the circumstances, but it was so bad, it had me wondering - has anyone edited this book, at all? And then, when Liam, the MMC, was in an accident that potentially left him with a permanent disability - what does Ivy, the FMC, think? „He needed reminding that he was a man and he needed to act like one”. Straight after the accident?! With no time to process it and the consequences that potentially altered the rest of his life? Jesus Christ. It’s 2026, and we’re still continuing with that „boys don’t cry, be a man” rhetoric? Uh…

Overall, it wasn’t a good book experience, unfortunately it’s a 1/5 stars from me.

Walk in Her Shoes

This is a short novella which has more feel & emotion. Liam is a firefighter who bumps into Ivy who is an author. He has quite an attraction towards her & his physical looks & charm does not work on Ivy. He had no idea Ivy is blind but he's determined to get to know her better. When he has an accident during a fire call, he loses his sight. Ivy is concerned for his self-pity & helps him to accept his blindness. She teaches him to use his other working senses & he learns to love her at a deeper level. During his healing time, his sight returns but his guilt eats at him. Will Ivy be able to forgive his lie by not telling her his vision has returned? Will he return to being the player & move on to another woman who has her vision or stay with her out of pity?

I thought this was a really good story. If I lost my vision like Ivy & Liam have, would I go through the same turmoil of emotions as they've gone through? An interesting story to have you look deep within yourself & to appreciate your gift of sight & not to take any of your senses for granted they'll be with you every day.

Her Fighter. This short story surprised me. It was different than I expected but none the less it was a very good emotional romance story. Ivy is an author and is about to be presented with an award at a reception in the same building as the firefighters were having their ball. Liam bumps into Ivy. He puts on his charm when he apologizes, but he doesn't realize that she is blind. When he talks to his friend, Andy, and find this out, they make a bet that he can get her to go out with him. They go out on a date but Ivy is upset with Liam because he tries to help her because she is blind but only messes up on the date. They argue and Liam realizes his mistake and decides to try again. They start a relationship but with no sex. Ivy wanted to change that and decides tonight is the night, but Liam is in an accident and in the hospital. He ends up with some serious injuries to the brain and now he is blind and not sure he will get his sight back. How will they deal with this situation? A must read story!! The was a quick and brilliant book and I loved the story line and all the characters involved and how each has to overcome obstacles to get there HEA. Liam is a firefighter who loves all women and with his good looks doesn’t have any trouble with the ladies and is at the convention centre where is meets Ivy and he flirts up a storm and there attraction is burning hot between them. Ivy Simonett is a Best Selling Author who is also blind from a car accident and is at the convention center as a speaker when she bumps into a man with the sexiest voice that she has ever heard and she wonder what he looks like and he is flirting with her and she wonder if she should take a chance on this man. After Liam learns that she is blind it made no difference to him he still wanted to see her and she is thrilled but when Liam has an accident at work that leaves him blind and angry but will he let Ivy help him through this or will he push her away.

She needed to learn to live in spite of her blindness. Now she is an award-winning author. Liam had bumped into her while his fire department held their annual ball at the same hotel as her award ceremony. He didn't realize that she was blind. He has been a player since he was a teen and accepted a bet to get Ivy to go out with him. Image his surprise when he learns that Ivy is blind. Ivy goes out with Liam and she preparing for a date when she gets word that Liam was injured at a fire and is in the hospital. When he wakes, he is blind with no word if he will regain his sight. He stays with Ivy after his release; and she slowly teaches him that there is other senses beside sight. Will Liam ever get his sight back? What did he learn from his period without sight? Can he and Ivy have a future together?.

Sight unseen.
Awesome story. Ivy lost her sight in an accident a decade ago but, she doesn’t let that stop her from living her dream of being a writer. At an awards ceremony for one of her books she meets Liam who has no idea that she’s blind. He lays on the charm as he usually does with the ladies. When she agrees to go out with him he realizes that he wants to protect her from the world. After they’ve been dating for weeks of coddling her she’s had enough. They talk and he sees his mistakes and vows to correct everything with her. When Liam is injured in the line of duty he loses his eyesight and must learn to cope in Ivy’s world. She teaches him how to live with his new reality. When he starts to see things around him again he fears losing Ivy. Will she still want to be with him when he can see and she can’t? Love is not what you see but, how you feel about a person.

When Ivy is knocked over as she crosses the hotel foyer the man who helps her up puts a card in her hand and she is intrigued.
Successful author Ivy Simonett has been blind for ten years but now manages on her own as much as possible.She is headed to the Plaza Hotel to recieve an award fo one of her books.As she crosses the foer she she is knocked over then helped up by a charming sounding man and as he does he presses a small card into her hand.Ivy is excited and intrigued as she realizes that he has no idea she is unable to see. She quesses that the card has his contact information n it a decade she wil get in touch with him. Firefighter Liam rushes off to his function and hope the beautiful woman will call hin but his friend who had seen what had happened tells him she is a well known author and that she is blind.

An enjoyable short story that's about Ivy Simonett who is a blind author, and Liam Howell a fireman. Ivy's is entering the room at the Plaza Hotel for the award ceremony to receive an award on her book when she bumps into man. The man leaves her a card with his name etc. that her assistant, Avery reads. Avery tells Ivy that he might be a fireman attending its annual ball. Liam whose known for a player enters the room catching the guys laughing. His friend Andy tells everyone how he's hitting on Ivy with all his charm when she can't see him. Andy and Liam make a bet, but Liam feels something different about Ivy that he hasn't felt before. Then Andy's wife tells Andy to call the bet off or else, which Andy does. When Ivy calls him, will he get his chance? This was an enjoyable instant romance story to read with likable characters that had chemistry in this copy I'd received and volunteer to review.

His Indistinguishable Love -
Ivy had found a way to live her life fully even though she was blind, but relationships weren’t really important to her, that is until Liam started pursuing her. Liam was instantly attracted to Ivy from the moment they met, but his eagerness to pursue her was as a result of his friends instigating him. However, the dynamic of their relationship changed after an incident changed Liam’s life and Ivy stepped up to support him.

Liam and Ivy’s attraction for each other grew as they spent time together, but their relationship was neatly destroyed because he kept a life changing secret from her. Fortunately, Ivy forgave Liam once he came clean and confessed his true feelings, which helped them work towards a life oh happiness. I enjoyed reading this steamy and entertaining story an will be happy to recommend it.

“Her Fighter: A firefighter romantic short story” is a short novella about a blind woman named Ivy who meets and falls in love with a firefighter named Liam. It starts as a pretty typical story about them falling in love and Ivy having to correct Liam’s misconceptions about her blindness (that she is not a delicate flower and that disabled women can still be sexy)… until Liam has an unfortunate accident and becomes blind himself and Ivy becomes the expert.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this novella and I wish it had been turned into a full novel! At times the writing was a bit stilted and could have used more editing to clean up typos. It was also obvious that the author is not blind and blindness was used more as a plot device than anything. However, it was an interesting concept and done with respect. Given this was so short, I thought it was 5/5.

Liam and Ivy. Writes novels. Shes accepting an award. A driver picks her up. Drops her at the Plaza Hotel. A man ran into her knocking her down. Light flirty banter then as she was leaving he slipped her a card. Finding out he was a firefighter that had been there for their annual banquet. Hes a playboy with calanders. Didnt know her secret and thought he found another notch. OMG his buddies made a bet with him. Shes going to be furious when she finds out because hes the first for years thats she showed interest in. But he was having feelings he never experienced before.
This is a romance that pulls you into their hearts and feelings that wont let go and after the heartbreak will be putting you back together. Absolutly loved it. Couldnt put it down. Wait for her secret that he finds out later and then makes the bet.

Her Fighter is a firefighter romantic short story. Her Fighter follows the journey of Ivy and Liam. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Her Fighter, I thought it to be entertaining/enjoyable, an ease to read, romantic/steamy, unpredictable, suspenseful, a definite page-turner, and there is a happy ending for the characters. Author Summer Cooper continues to write amazing romance stories whether their short or a full novel story she pours her all into her stories to give her readers the best books. Her Fighter is definitely a book that I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone to read. The characters are exceptionally developed and well executed throughout the story. I absolutely fell in love with Ivy and Liam's story and I couldn't get enough of it either.

Liam is a playboy firefighter, during a party he meets a beautiful writer. While his colleagues are too busy taking bets on his possible relationship with this young woman, he is too busy falling completely in love with her.
Ivy is a young writer who is invited to an awards evening, despite her disability she managed to break through and that night she is the guest of honor. She did not expect to meet a handsome firefighter Liam for whom she will have a crush. After many dates she is ready to break up with him because he is too overprotective of her because of her disability, but Liam will be the victim of a terrible accident during an intervention.
Will they manage to overcome Liam's accident and will Liam manage to be less protective of Ivy...

Ivy is a writer that happens to be blind. When she ended up blind, she didn't let it stop her from being independent. She is heading to an event to get an award when she runs into Liam. Liam is a firefighter and is interested in Ivy. However, he had no clue she was blind not that it made a difference to him. Not long after they start seeing each other Liam has an accident at work that leaves him blind. Will he let Ivy help him? Will they find a way to be together?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This si a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

"Her Fighter" by Summer Cooper is an engaging read from start to finish. This short read is full of heart and good writing. I loved the depth of the characters, and I especially loved Ivy. An intelligent, determined, remarkable female lead who has navigated life to follow a dream of being an author. I also liked Liam, who may start as a playboy-ish/protective type, but certainly evolves into a determined, caring, patient person who truly cares for Ivy. As a couple, they are endearing and dynamic as they navigate what life has to offer (ups & downs) to find their own happily ever after. This was my first read by Summer Coooper and I am glad I had the opportunity to do. Worth the read!.

Liam was known to be a ladies man. Women loved him because he was hot and a firefighter. He has never been turned down until the day he literally ran into Ivy. He turned on all his charm but it didn't seem to affect Ivy much. He couldn't get Ivy out of his head so he is thrilled when she calls him and agrees to a date with him. However knowing she is blind causes him to act totally differently than normal. He only takes her to one restaurant and tries to help her is misguided ways. Ivy has a lot to teach her sexy firefighter.

There is an instant attraction between these two, and when an accident takes away his sight, Ivy comes to his aid to help him use his other senses, but when his sight comes back, he feels guilty for keeping it to himself. This is a quick read which is sweet, and with emotions, secrets, lies, intrigue, and is a steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is a sweet spicy story about a couple who has to overcome tribulations and learn to see each other under a new light.

Ivy is a blind successful writer, she lost her sight after a car accident, Liam is playboy firefighter who askes Ivy out -in a sort of bet/joke-. but realizes she is blind, and that brings a protective side of him. As they are ready to go out, he suffers and accident that will change his life, but it is Ivy who steps up and helps him navigate his new reality

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review. This was a novella that was sweet, steamy and had heartfelt moments. The plot was straight forward with a little angst that was quickly resolved and the chemistry between the 2 main characters was insta attraction but I appreciated that there was some slow burn rather than instant gratification. The ending was more HFN as there wasn't an epilogue to show how their relationship plays out further down. But it was a satisfying quick read.

A very short sweet read with some heat. Firefighter Liam has a reputation with the ladies. Accomplished author Ivy felt she needed a break. When they accidentally meet, Liam accepts a bet with his fellow firemen that he could charm her into his bed, not realizing that she was blind. Her Fighter by Summer Cooper is the touching, tender story of Liam and Ivy. He sees her when she’s receiving a writing award. He’s a firefighter. But, there’s more to her than he can possibly imagine…and then disaster strikes!!!

Wonderful read!!! I liked the story…and the characters. Only wished there had been a bit more of a build-up of the relationship. Good story!!

I've read a lot of books written by Summer Cooper; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

She has written another good short story. The story is about Ivy & Liam; she’s a written that hasn’t let her disability hold her back; he’s a firefighter. He gets injured in a fire and loses his sight; she helps him learn to use his other senses. They begin getting close but when his sight returns he doesn’t tell her and when she finds out it causes issues between them.

Ivy is not like any other woman Liam is used to, being a playboy, he uses his charm and good looks to win them over, but there is something different about her. She can't see.

Her Fighter is a great story that puts Liam's truths and reality in a hard perspective for him, when an accident takes his sight. I love the hard love Ivy gives Liam and has no problem putting him in his place.

This is a great fast read that makes you smile.

I really enjoyed this book, i loved the topic and the storyline was perfect. I thought it was a true likeness to the real world. We have all been known to do what Ian did by thinking we are helping and actually making the blind person's life harder. I loved Ivy's character, she was strong and independent, and knew what she wanted. Totally shows you can life normally once you lose your sight. Loved it recommend.

Ivy is a novelist who happens to be blind from an accident when she was 18. When at a convention center to relieve an award, she literally bumped into Liam, a firefighter there for a convention. He is a playboy and hits on her without realizing she can’t see him. They start dating with some bumps in the way getting used to what each expects from the other. Then Liam is injured at work and loses his vision but is unsure if it will be temporary or permanent. Ivy teaches him the beauty of darkness.

LIAM AND IVY

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

This is a sweet short story that allows the reader to see into the world of an uninhibited blind person who refuses to be coddled. It gives the vibe of ‘walk in my shoes’. Liam understands this after an accident and doesn’t know how to resolve his issue of no longer being temporarily blind. It also gives the reader insight into a world that makes use of all senses when sight is no longer available. I loved it.

This was a very short and sweet novella about Ivy and Liam who meet at a banquet for different events although there is a very interesting twist. Ivy is blind and Liam is not aware. Liam is very much a playboy but in Ivy he has met his match. Although this was a short read I loved it so much and Ivy and Liam could not be more perfect together. A little drama occurs but nothing these two cannot overcome. Would love to read more about them in future books.
