George Kranky created his own Marvellous Medicine to deal with his grizzly old grunion of a Grandma. You definitely can't do that at home (so don't even try!), but here's some amazing science that you can do!From concocting home-made slimy snot to creating your own volcano, these fun experiments are all easily done, following simple step-by-step instructions and using everyday household objects.Inspired by Roald Dahl's terrific tale, this is the book for budding young scientists everywhere!
What a fantastic book! Full of great science experiments that the children got so excited about seeing and doing. Always helped me when I ran out of ideas or ways to show the children certain scientific concepts and also helped me plan a whole science day.
It really was a funny and nice book for reading, but at the end when the grandma dies I really felt very bad. Except of everything I liked it. The reason why I am giving it 4 stars is that at one moment I didn't wanted to read it anymore and it was a little bit boring at some point.

This is a fantastic little book, full of great ideas for activities with kids which will get them excited for science. Most experiments you can just use normal household items/products too.
It is about a young boy, George, who is forced to stay with his witchlike grandmother, with a penchant for eating bugs. However, considering her elderly state, she must have her medication each day, and her grandson must bring it to her. George, being the curious young boy he is, decides he will instead create his own medicine for her, just to kind of shake her up a bit.
He begins to look all around the house and the barn for all sorts of medicines, lotions, creams, paints; just about anything he could get his hands on to mix up for the medicine. When he is finally complete, he gives the medicine to his granny, causing some rather unexpected results.
I had so much fun reading this book it was amazing.
It’s such a fun read. All Rold Dahl books are creative and wonderful stories with lots of fun and humor. This books has a great story and love the story telling. I love the fact that all his books brings vulnerability and imagination to the story. This book is so easy to read and gives such fun vibes. Wonderful read.
I was very excited to receive this book for review. It’s definitely not the sort of book I would normally read but I am really looking forward to trying some of these experiments with the grandbabies. If you have small curious humans in your life, I definitely recommend this book.
I really like this book and I would also want to make a medicine like his.(not for my family of course) The thing I didn't like about it was that it was kinda boring and you can't REALLY read it again
I love Ronald dahl’s books because he has a great imagination. At the very beginning George wanted to get back at old witch like grandma. He try to figure out what he could do since he didn’t have rats, snakes, or bugs. Then he looked over at her medicine. He brewed up a plan and put random stuff into a big pot. It had amazing affects the people would grow. George’s father found out and since he always wanted to breed bigger animals. They tried to re-create this medicine but they figured out that they couldn’t do it it there to many things in the medicine.
George’s Marvellous Medicine is another unforgettable gem from Roald Dahl. Full of mischief and imagination, it follows George as he creates a strange and hilarious concoction to deal with his monstrous grandmother. Dahl’s trademark wit and dark humor shine through, making this book a hilarious and thrilling read for both children and adults alike. With quirky characters, wild inventions, and a pace that keeps readers on their toes, this is a marvellous story that will leave you laughing out loud.
After reading 5-10 Roald Dahl books with my kids, I'm sad to realize that I don't actually like his writing very much. The characters are hard to like, and his point of view is rather mean-spirited. This is another book in that vein, and despite its length very little happens.
