ABBA – The Complete Recording Sessions by Carl Magnus Palm is the groundbreaking book detailing how the Swedish band wrote and recorded their music. When first published in 1994, the book was the first to reveal the stories behind ABBA’s well-known hits, as well as album tracks, single B-sides, and unreleased recordings (many of which are unheard by the general public to this day). When the original book was written, because of all the tapes still being analogue only, there were hours and hours of alternate mixes that went unheard. Since then all these tapes have been transferred to a digital format and are easily accessible. The author has unearthed innumerable variations of ABBA’s recorded work – some of them of the mind-blowing variety – and all this new information has been incorporated in the new edition of the book.

Moreover, the book expands the scope of ABBA’s musical universe by including new insights from the people who worked with the group – and much more!

I love these type of books and this one is excellent with great detail and rare photos and studio recording notes of the time .
