Koko Brown

Koko Brown is the pseudonym for a quintessential erotic romance junkie who once read over 200 Zebra Club novels the summer before her senior year in high school.

Koko’s writing career began at the tender age of nine when she self-published and distributed a newspaper to her fellow classmates. Unfortunately, her grade school school principal didn’t appreciate the competition and put her out of business after one best-selling issue.

Undaunted, Koko continued to write and read everything she could get her hands on. She honed her writing skills as a staff writer on her college’s newspaper, writing obituaries for the local newspaper, and teaching English to high school students.

One day while daydreaming in bed, Koko came up with the idea for her first erotic manuscript. Taking a hiatus from teaching, she had enough time on her hands to flesh out the story in two short weeks. A week later, she cleaned it up, then sent it to Ellora’s Cave during the Christmas holiday. By January she heard from one of their editors and by March (and many revisions) she signed a contract for her vampire novel Charmed.

Calling the east coast of Florida home, this multipublished author of interracial erotic romance loves to travel, shop in thrift stores, ride motorcycles, renovate houses, and volunteering.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This story was indeed a role reversal. The heroine had strong alpha tendencies which I didn't find attractive. There is a fine line between strong and stubborn and I found her push and pull extremely immature for a 39 year old woman. Speaking of age, the age of the hero is unclear and he was extremely offended that the heroine thought he was in his early 40s. Overall, I was unable to buy into the hero's attraction (or his eventual love) for the heroine. However, I did enjoy the behind the scenes look at the haberdashery industry.

L♥ve the book cover!

This is my review and how I see it. I enjoyed reading this story. In Her Silver Fox, Koko Brown's newest release about an investment banker Patrick Kelly and Shoshana Haufman a master tailor, where it is lust at first sight but turns into something more for Patrick. Their initial banter at first meeting was wrought with innuendos.

At first, I did not like Patrick especially the way he treated his father. While Shoshana showed her father much love a respect Patrick loved his father but didn't respect him much. Two different people from two different walks of life and one having such a profound impact on the other that the other person changes how they look at things.

Loved Shoshana's assistant Tyson! I wished the author would have expounded a little more on the story past just them getting ready to Patrick's dad, but to have that written in the to story to see them reconcile in the story rather than behind the scenes.

Koko showed you two sides of the coin in this book, Patrick's life and how he went about things and Shoshana's life and how she went about things. You started to see how Patrick's life starts to change as well as his views and outlook.

All in all 'Her Silver Fox' is not your typical silver fox story. The story brings to mind that song 'When A Man Loves A Woman' the Percy Sledge version.

This book is for anyone who believes a man in love can change his outlook on life when he loves a woman.

The author has provided a free copy of her work in exchange for an honest review.

Patrick Kelly was such a hard worker but not much went right for him in his line of work, and not a big family man where as Shoshana Haufman took great care of her sick father holding a lot on her shoulders juggling work also .Two totally different people but with Patrick taking the hints and watching how she cares so deeply will he follow her lead and change for her and become a better man.
I enjoyed the Authors writing where this was my first book by this Author

What a waste of time. She is a master tailor who has sex with a new client, the silver fox, within minutes of meeting him. He claims that meeting her just one time completely reset his moral compass and changed his outlook on his job as a cutthroat investment shark. Within days he is thinking of leaving his job at an investment firm. Really!!!

The sex is boring, the romance is boring, and there is no plot or suspense. This book is a dud.

3.5⭐️ this book was really good about how love can change a person and not handling everything on your own. I suppose I wanted a little bit more to see their relationship develop more and see them as a couple.

I am voluntarily reviewing Her Silver Fox by Koko Brown for receiving an Advanced Reader Copy.

Wow. What a refreshing look at things where Patrick has to work so hard to get her instead of the normal she is trying everything to get him notice her. They had the chemistry right off the bat but neither would admit it was more than that to each other or themselves. Shoshana treated him like he used to treat women and he didn't like it. LOL I enjoyed when he decided to go for a relationship and told her no more sex until she decided she wanted a relationship with him. I also loved the fact that she was taking care of her father who had the beginning stages of dementia and she is in denial but then Patrick tells her to let him be there for her and to help because he loves her.

Koko Brown is one of my favorite authors but this one wasn't the best. This is one of those happy for now books. I think this book needed to be a lot longer to explore the relationship because even by the end Shoshanna didn't even love Patrick. There's no love until the epilogue. I was so disappointed usually Koko's books take you on a journey with the two characters and have you smiling by the epilogue. This one not so much.

I really liked this one. Like In Her Closet this was a book that gave me something different from what I expected. This is more of a realistic look at what would happen if you decided to have a booty call and then both of you catch feelings and then one person tries to fight those feelings. That shit felt real lol.

Also both Shoshana and Patrick's professional lives were very well done. A very enjoyable read.

Whew. Glad it's over.

Reading this book was a chore. It took waaaay to long to get anywhere except for the sex. So many questions not answered. Why did the H suddenly have a change of heart about everything? I will delete this one from my library.

After seeing how love ruined his father, Patrick Kelly swore that he would never let a woman get to him. Until he met Shoshana Haufman. Shoshana had a lot on her plate and the last thing on her mind was a relationship, but maybe a fling would do. To bad fate had other ideas for both Shoshana and Patrick. These two get way more than they bargained for when they give in to passion. Will they let their past issues and present drama stand in the way of what could be a beautiful new beginning for the both of them?
Now, I love a strong women but there's a big difference between being strong and just being selfish and stubborn, and I think Shoshana suffered from both in my opinion. I liked that she didn't put her life on hold for a man, but I felt she played with his emotions a little. Patrick, whom I really liked, was willing to do anything to just to have some of Shoshana's time, but I felt he gave her to much control over the situation. I wanted them to meet somewhere in the middle but they never seemed to get to that point. I though the story line was great, I just didn't feel the love between these two. I give it 3.5 stars.

This was an okay read. While the chemistry between Patrick and Shoshanna was hot, there were some issues that I found hard to believe. The story could have been a bit more insightful by providing more detail into Shoshanna's absentee mother and more conversation between Patrick and his family. Patrick is a "silver fox" but his true age is never revealed and he get's offended when Shoshanna think's he's fortyish. Patrick's profession also afforded him a certain lifestyle level and the fact that he never took advantage of a well tailored suit seems a bit much. As much as those things did bother me, I did appreciate that Shoshanna was more of an alpha female and Patrick knew exactly what he wanted and was willing to do whatever he needed. However, his revelations seem to come about too quickly since there was not that much "quality time" spent with Shoshanna. Overall, this was a decent read and I hope that the mention of Patrick's brothers is a set-up for future works giving readers more insight into this family. I think Ms. Brown is a talented writer but I needed more from this story.

Hot Romance

Shoshanna and Patrick's romance was hot and heavy from the beginning. Not accustomed to women doing him like he did most women had Pat baffled. Shoshanna seemed to be unaffected by his charm or so he thought. She really did not have time for a relationship with her family business and her father. As much as she wanted to be Pat's, she's did not think she was Pat's type of woman. After being around Shoshanna, she affected him in ways that had him reevaluating his life and made a 360 turn around in his life.

Accepting the fact that he was more like his father than he realized, he's set out to make Shoshanna his because he had to have her in his life, no matter how long it took to convince her.

This was an easy enjoyable story to read.

Lemme preface with the cliche, "I've read this author, and I usually love her work"..., and in this case, it's very true. I've read this author many times before, and I usually do enjoy her work, but this one was really meh for me. I didn't like either character very much, and the chemistry was almost non-existent.

I'm not going to go into a long diss or diatribe about all the things I didn't like. The writing was solid, and the story flowed. I loved the older woman, younger man (Not like those 45 yr old man and 28 yr old woman May/December joints) angle. I just could not get into Patrick and Shoshanna as a couple. And the ending was just flat.

A disappointing read for me. I was so looking forward to reading this book.

There was way too much narration of the story, of how the couple felt about the issues surrounding their lives. They did not have a real relationship (in my view) they met had intimate moments but this is not how a relationship is forged. You need to dialogue with each other get to know each other they met only a few times which you could count on one hand. How can they overcome the obstacles in their relationship if they never spend any real time conversing with each other. I forced myself to finish reading it.

This one sounded like it would be a great read - and while the concept was great and there were really good moments - overall it was just an ok read for me. I found that it kind of lagged in a lot of places and there wasn't a ton of time with the characters actually together! I wanted more of them actually together - not just their individual stories happening and then the rushed ending...

This had so much potential - just needed a bit more edititng (in my opinion).

'The impossible problem becomes possible when the problem is only a tough decision waiting to be made' when shoshana first sets eyes on Patrick she's lost for words . he's a stunning silver fox! being prematurely grey is the only thing premature about him ;) this book was beautifully written , I really felt for everything shoshana was going through but despite it all mr kelly manages to worm his way into her life! I absolutely loved both characters especially how strong shoshana was! an awesome read! looking forward to reading more from koko!

A refreshing read and for me that made it a really good read. I found myself enjoying it more as I got to know all the characters, not just Shoshana and Patrick.

For me, I was invested in these characters, this is what I would call a real world romance Shoshana and Patrick knew what they wanted but have to fit it around responsibilities

This was my first time reading a novel from this author. I haven't read many books where the Alpha male gets bested by the heroine (I particularly enjoyed that). The best part...him being dismissed after their "afternoon delight". Priceless...

Good...

This one fell a little short for me. I liked the characters and the storyline, but something was off. It didn't seem like we sawenough of Shoshana and Patrick together. I loved their first meeting, but it was a minute before they got back together, and during that time, it felt like we saw more of him than her. IMO, these two were so busy dealing with the issues in their own lives that their interactions were limited. I was really surprised when love came up. They had great chemistry, and hot sex scenes, but I felt more lust than love.

Read this one for yourself, though. Koko Brown tells a good story, so it may be me that's off. Having said all that, I'm looking forward to whatever is next.

This was quite different to a lot of romance books. It felt quite intense in that it was very focused on Soshana and Patrick, with only small parts of 'everyday life'. Whilst the chemistry was very intense between them I didn't get a huge romance vibe for the majority of the book.

However I did like the role reversal where the male who was being given the brush off and left dangling by the heroine. Patrick seemed to have lived his whole life running away from love, ever since his mother walked out when he was a young boy. He worked hard and was successful, in some sort of bid to prove he was worthy. However meeting Soshana opened his eyes to what a mean and uncaring person he was. I loved seeing the transformation Patrick made as he opened his heart to love and started to care about others.

I also liked that the characters were more mature, it was refreshing to read a book where both the hero and heroine were a little older but still sexy. I found this an enjoyable book to read.

For me, this book was like a real slow burn. A long play of will they or won't they. The story was slightly different than your typical book which is refreshing.

Patrick is a confident, self centered investment guru and until he's met his match in Shoshana. Equally confident, smart, sexy and witty, Shoshana doesn't have time for men in her life. Homer she cannot deny her unbridled connection and attraction to her Silver Fox, Patrick. It was an interesting perspective to read a successful woman taking what she needed from this man, but not being able to fully commit. Making the confident man do the chasing and pining for the woman's attention.

Overall, I enjoyed the story but I wish there was a little more to grab my attention. The characters were beautifully developed but Patrick's change in character was a little to quick for me.

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, but my word, it will not be the last. Shoshana has a huge burden on her shoulders; looking after a sick Father, and working full time. Patrick is a hard worker as well, but not into family in any way, shapes or forms. There two are complete opposites, but are attracted to each other and are a perfect couple. No spoilers from me though, give this one a go for yourself!
This is a well written story, and had me intrigued and hooked throughout. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

When career driven, in control of his life Patrick Kelly meets Master Taylor Shoshauna Hoffman, he realizes just how out of control love can make him. She is a dedicated businesswoman and family first type. So while she’s okay with breaking her cardinal rule of being with a client, she is not ready for the betrayal of her own heart. While she fights to maintain a pure physical and business relationship only, Patrick fights to figure out how he can make her his.

I did not like Patrick Kelly when I began this book. But it didn’t take long to figure out that his gruff manner and his love for business was a wall built out of hurt and a desire to survive. With great dialogue, hot love scenes, well-developed characters, and even a peek into the secondary figures, Koko Brown weaves a great romance. I found myself rooting for this couple, and hoping they would find their happily ever after. Her Silver Fox was easy to read and difficult to put down. It made me go looking for more books by Ms. Brown.

This was such a lovely book to sit down and read. Our male lead took us on a journey. He was career-driven and cold until he met our lead female. It was so sweet to see that after one meeting, Patrick really started to change his life around for the better. He was no longer that jerk of a robot and actually started to become more compassionate towards the regular man. He, all of a sudden, formed morals. I really liked that in our male lead. Soshana could had done with some growing. She was very stubborn to the point where it became dangerous, considering her home life. The thing about her is that she had so much stuff going on at home, she felt that she did not deserve a relationship because she would not be able to give it her all. That was very commendable of her and it made me respect her. Overall, I rooted for our two leads and was happy that they found happiness.
