"It's raining men..." (sing along with me). With her career finally in high gear Vivienne starts to focus on her withering love life. She breaks her own rule about mixing work and pleasure when she meets her latest potential customer. Sure he recently became a billionaire by selling his first company; it's their geeky chemistry that really draws her in. These two socially-awkward introverts are on an uphill climb toward romance when fate steps in to throw another option in her path.
Sebastian Fontaneau is everything Viv wants, or thought she wanted. He's so much like her first love, Danny. But memories of that disastrous relationship and the chance of something long-term have her questioning whether she should take him up on his sensual offer.

This is the fifth book in the Vivienne Series and the best one so far. The main character Vivienne (Viv) is a strong woman and I just love watching her grow and all of the adventures she has in this series. Ms Gordon has created a fabulous story line and I can't wait to see where she will take Viv in this next book. I can't recommend this high enough. This is a fun, fabulous book and series.

This part in the series takes a different turn from start to finish. You can tell that Viv has changed personally in the way she acts and holds herself. The way she responds to the guys around her sounds realistic. The end of this one takes a slightly different approach to the erotic side than the prior books.

3.5 Stars!
The Vivienne Series by Karen Gordon is comprised of seven engaging installments. Soaring is the fifth novella about the life and times of Vivienne Ramsey, an independent, 25-year-old woman on the path to financial and personal success. Vivienne is not only smart, she is attractive as well. In this book, Vivienne begins meeting with potential clients that are interested in purchasing the 80 million dollar airplanes that she is selling.
Vivienne is articulate, sociable, and always on her game when it comes to anything work related. Unfortunately, she has a tendency to doubt herself and others when a social situation arises. Her client, billionaire Evan O'Donnell, is a cute nerd that Vivienne enjoys spending her free time with. They flirt a little and get to know each other, but their mutual awkwardness during non-work time is palpable. Vivienne abruptly departs California and Evan for New Orleans, to look after her stepmother who has just been in a major accident. That is where she meets Sebastian, a hot helicopter pilot that is helping his sister with her busy bar during Mardi Gras.
I liked Soaring, even though the beginning was short on substance. The second half was terrific, with the introduction of Sebastian and the New Orleans setting. Vivienne and Sebastian are attracted to each other, and Sebastian's need for a submissive lover is an interesting subplot. I am looking forward to the next installment.

The story as ever moves along so quickly that I managed to read it in one morning. I always look forward to the next book in the Vivienne Series and I have to say this is just as good as the rest of the series if not possibly my favourite so far.
It was interesting to see Vivienne's interactions with Evan and it made a change to see her not at her fully confident self. Although to be fair both Evan and Sebastian brought out a few of her insecurities. I loved how different the two men are who come into Vivienne's life. It was a great contrast and it was actually fun to see Vivienne out of her comfort zone with both of them. What will happen next though that is the question.
This book is light hearted and perfect if you have a bit of free time just to relax with. Vivienne is a great character, it has been so much fun getting to know her and follow her on this journey. I can't wait to read the next book and see what else is in store for Vivienne.
Soaring is fast moving with a few surprises along the way!
Thank you to Karen Gordon for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Another great installment in this series. I wanted to route for Evan as a romantic interest, but it was difficult to picture them as anything more than friends. Vivienne seemed to think he was cute, but no real sparks emerged. Evan's geekiness also made him a little socially awkward and therefore immature, but he was a very likeable guy.
Sebastian on the other hand...sparks are definitely flying from her end, but he seems to want to go much more slowly than she does. With this series, who know, Sebastian could be a no go in the next installment and she could be off to who knows where. We never did meet the second client, so I will stay tuned. Two more installments to go. (I'm secretly still routing for Danny, who knows why).
