The Taking

Rate this book
"Every quarter century, on one night during an eclipse, a beast comes out from the forest to claim his bride. This is called The Taking. He roams door to door searching for the woman whose entire essence calls to him. He will kill, mutilate and destroy everything in his path until he finds his bride. In the past, the townsmen have tried to hunt the creature and kill him, but he is not alone in the woods. He has servants among the shadows to make sure his task is completed. Once he finds her, he changes into a handsome young man and carries her back to the forest where she is never seen by a single human soul ever again."

Celeste believes this so-called "legend" is just some scary fairytale her grandmother made up to scare her. But was she ever wrong when a pair of moonlit eyes stared straight at her through her bedroom window and entered her room. Next thing she knew, she was being carried out the house and into the woods by a half-naked man who called her his.

Who would have thought? Grandma wasn't crazy after all.

Very poor grammar. Incorrect words were often used, but you could figure out what they should be from context clues. Great story!

Okay, I have several questions about the storyline and world building, there's definitely lots of typos and some grammar mistakes, but OMG the book is hilarious!
For a werewolf story on Wattpad (I read it on the app) it's pretty decent. I really appreciated that there wasn't much alpha male possessiveness bull**it. The FL is far from weak and has a backbone. And Gran is an icon!

If you want a light shifter story to unwind, this one is puurfect!

Warning, if you’re expecting smut, there’s none in this book. If you’re new to the werewolf world, this is a perfect book! It’s clearly an under 16 age group book that is perfectly written. It doesn’t have a typical strong alpha, which was kind of refreshing. All the female leads have strong personalities and I love that. MUST READ!

Grayson and Celeste

I def missed the plot. You know, it’s a werewolf/ mating story, so I expect more of them together

This was a nice book to read. The premise was somewhat new an refreshing. There were some inconsistencies and plot holes not to mention many grammar and spelling mistakes, but you can get over them if you want to read the book.
I absolutely loved Grayson, he was the ultimate book boyfriend. I would like one "to go". I even liked Celeste and don't remind me about Gran, she was absolutely epic, she and her cane. That cane should have a name.
So all in all I liked it very much and will definitely read the sequel.
