The Choice contains 2, brand-new, full-length novels, each with a different HEA.
Sixty days in another life, another time…it’s tempting. Now the decision to accept the pocket watch is yours. What choice will you make?
Sara Wells is in Venice, preparing to leave on a fourteen day cruise to Greece, when Gertrude offers her the pocket watch. Will she take it? You choose.
If you accept the watch, Sara will travel to eighteenth century Venice where she meets a young Scottish expatriate who owns a small ship building company. Will their love for each other be enough to overcome all obstacles?
If you refuse the watch, Sara will remain in the twenty-first century, where she will encounter a traveler from the past and more intrigue than she can pack into the books she writes.
Once you've read one, you can go back and make the other choice.
One choice, two souls, two different happy endings.
The Choice is a romance novel and thus contains several mildly explicit intimate scenes.
No primeiro livro Sara aceita o relógio e viaja para Veneza no passado, onde ela salva a jovem Ceres, e conhece nosso lindo e maravilho Benedict... E aqui eles encontra a felicidade... Ambos foram livros maravilhosos de ler, tanto que não consigo escolher o melhor, pois amei de paixão os dois... 🤣🤣 Happy reading, and until the next reading... 🥰😘😘
As usual as the pocket watch cronicles go sixty days in another life, another time.....it's tempting and the choice is all yours. So what's your choice? This book is like no other book I myself have ever seen or read. If you accept the watch Sara Wells will travel back in time to eighteenth century Venice where she will meet an intriguing man who owns a small ship building company, but will their love be strong enough for her to stay and overcome all of the obstacles in their way? Now if you decide to refuse the watch, Sara will remain in the twenty-first century, where she will be the one to encounter a traveler from the past who is like a real life walking talking, but better version of the books she writes. If he decides to stay will their love be enough to overcome all? Once you've chosen one and read it you can then go back and chose to read the other. I myself took the pocket watch right away and loved every minute of going back in time with Sara then I decided to decline the pocket watch and stayed with Sara in our time and was equally impressed. Ceci Giltenan is absolutely amazing and this is one heck of a stunning book. If I could give this book more then 5 stars you can be sure I would that is how much I loved it.
I liked how it had two different storylines depending on what you chose in the opening chapter. It was interesting to read both. I did enjoy it, but I did have one hang up with one of the endings. I'm going to go in the order I read them.
What if I Fall In Love: This is the one I had an issue with. It was interesting on one hand to see Benedict trying to adjust to modern life and fall in love with Sara. But the ending just completely came out of nowhere. I wasn't at all expecting it and in this case, that's not a compliment.
Nothing to Lose: I enjoyed this one more, surprisingly (I prefer books set in modern day to historical settings). It was interesting reading about Sara adjusting to life in the 18th century and reading about some of the cultural things then. Her falling in love with Benedict was also cute and being willing to stay behind for him was nice. I felt the ending was more realistic too (as opposed to the 'twist' in the other version, which I've already discussed), which I can appreciate.
Overall, 4 stars, but only because WIIFIL wasn't the best.
This is two novels in one that are related to each other. Basically, the heroine is given the choice to use a time-traveling watch. The first novel is the story of what happens if she does, and the second novel is the story of what happens if she doesn't. I enjoyed both of them, but I think I enjoyed the second one a bit more because that one was tied a little to events from previous books in the series.
I enjoyed Giltenan's writing but it may be a bit preachy to some. It doesn't have an overt Bible-thumping tone like some Christian romances, but there is the feeling that the reader is being taught a lesson about what is important in life. I was a big fan of the TV show Touched by an Angel back in the day so I didn't mind the tone, but occasionally it seemed at odds with the sex scenes. Thankfully, the sex scenes didn't take up much of the book as a whole and it was pretty easy to skim past them. I don't have a problem with the open bedroom door, but neither one of these stories really needed it.
Each time I read a new book by Ceci Giltenan, I am convinced it simply cannot be as wonderful as the last, but she surprises me every darn time! I absolutely ADORED the creative premise of this book, a "Choose Your Own Adventure," if you will, and I loved the prologue where everyone's favorite angel, Gertrude, addressed the readers directly.
And what can I say about the Sara/Benedict romance? Their stories (in both the past and present), were engaging, heartwarming, and sprinkled with excitement and adventure. I found them both so real and likeable, I cheered for them the whole way through. That's where Ms. Giltenan shines; she creates characters you simply can't help but fall in love with.
Also, I am not all that familiar with 18th-century Venetian history, and this story provided wonderful details about daily life during that era, which I appreciated and enjoyed.
In this book two souls meant for each other, find each other, first in one century and then in another. Benedict MacIan and Sara Wells are each given the option of accepting the pocket watch from Gertrude. In the first story Sara accepts and goes to 18th century Venice. In the second story, Sara refuses the pocket watch but Benedict accepts it and travel to 2006 to meet Sara on a cruise. Both are beautiful stories. In both there are challenges to overcome for true love to triumph.
Enjoyed both stories. The writing was good, plots were tight, happy endings. The courtesan appeared capable of going to other periods . that was confusing!! Sara was a little gullible but she was busy looking for a knight. Fortunately she met ben. I'm looking forward to more pocket watch travels.
What a fantastic read I love Gertrude how she pops out in and out of centuries. This has two options first option she accepts pocket watch and travels back in time to meet her soul mate or option two she doesn't time travel but her soul mate does and travels to her.
I read first " yes she time travelled" and then the second option I loved both stories.
The Choice: The Pocket Watch Chronicles By Cecil Gltenan
Five stars I read both stories did not care for the first one with Sara taking the watch, storyline was rush and I just did not like it..The second one with Ben, better storyline..Did not care for the violence..Ending was kind of rush..But it was the better than the the first one...
Absolutely loved the series. I really enjoyed how this book offers 2 outcomes. Highly recommend this if you love romance and time travel then this is a must read. I loved all the pocket watch series. Highly recommended
Ceci Giltenan keeps me up every night. This is the 3rd. Pocket Watch book i have read. Now I am looking for another. Join me in reading this series. You will be sleepy, but not disappointed.
Cute, conflicted with the writing style on this one, merge that with the sickly sweet dialogue, and I just couldn't do it anymore. Finished the 1st choice, couldn't punish myself further with the second.
Amazon book without a doubt. Two choices to follow the story. Two books in one. Delightful. I will keep reading the series. I love the second part because I love in Maryland and I know all the places mentioned. I definitely recommend
I gave 5 stars to all earlier books in this series but reducing 1 here. Nothing to Lose was not as interesting as the other stories, focusing on food and everyday life before Sara did something selfish and stupid. What if I Fall was much better.
Good book with two different endings. You pick which you think she’ll choose. I love those series. Great time traveling love series of different couples. I like how the author brings past books in to the new ones too!
I enjoyed this book, because I liked the idea a choice being given to the character. I am glad both story's end well. I hope this review help someone choose this book.
2 1/2 years since I read the others. Am I mistaken in having liked them? Just not in the mood this time? Too boring. Premise is good, but writing isn't anything special.
An absolutely brilliant time travel romance. First time for me to have one of the main characters actually address the reader and ask for an opinion. The very well throughout developments of all the outcomes in both stories will definitely keep you interested. This book is one you should not miss reading.
Once again, I enjoyed this edition of the Pocket Watch Chronicle. In this book, there was a choice for the reader to read the story resulting from two different scenarios. I read and enjoyed both. The stories began in present time but then also included some scenes in the 18th century.
Wow, what can I say, this is another story about the watch and its time travel abilities and Gertrude only this time Ms Giltenan gives us a choice on whether the pocket watch is accepted or not.
I read both outcomes and I must say she has come up with a fabulous ending for both situations, I did have a preference, but I'm not telling which as it would spoil things. I will tell you that in one of the stories there is a very famous person doing a cameo, which I'm sure you'll all enjoy and also a couple of familiar characters.
In both stories you will get a bit of suspense, a bit of villainy, and a lot of love and I just know you won't want to put it down, I know I didn't.
I loved it! I was happy to read a continuation of the Pocket Watch Chronicles because I adore Gertrude, Citizen of the Universe and how she helps people travel through time to find their soulmates. This story allowed you to find out what happens if Sara accepts the pocket watch and also what would happen if she declined it. I thought both stories were entertaining and it was nice to see some characters from her previous books make appearances. It was a fun read and I highly recommend it to fans of the Pocket Watch Chronicles.
