Miranda White loves her job as a baker at River’s End Ranch. She’s been there a year, and the only fly in the ointment is Bob, the chef for Kelsey’s Kafé, who picks a fight with her every single morning. December on the ranch doesn’t only bring skiers and snowmobilers, it also brings cookies. And at River’s End, cookies mean Miranda. Bob Blakely is clueless about women, and he knows it. Teasing Miranda every morning about the amount of chocolate chips in her cookies seems to be the best way to get her attention. When Kelsi Clapper invites them both to dinner one night, Bob sees his chance to let her know how he feels. Will Miranda be able to see past his tormenting? Or will she choose to spend another Christmas alone?
There is never a wrong time of the year for Christmas Romance – especially in the River’s End Ranch series where we’re following the seasons as set out in the books. and now it’s Christmas time in Riston, Idaho. And we’re in for a few treats with some lovely Christmas romances to enjoy. First up is Baker’s Bob.
Some people simply march to their own unique drums, and Bob from Kelsey’s Kafe is certainly one of those people. He’s been doing his version of flirting with Miranda since they met about a year ago. Except Bob’s version of flirting really belongs back on the elementary school play yard as he’s constantly mock fighting with her about the number of chocolate chips in her cookies. It’s driving Miranda up the wall because she believes he’s totally serious. When Bob does come clean and explains why he’s teasing her mercilessly she’s flabbergasted to say the least. Yet it does set up a sorta truce and the beginning of their own unique dating plan.
Their romance is fun, a bit different and the first time Jaclyn actually kicked someone out of her house when she declares that Miranda simply isn’t ready yet to hear what the faeries have to say. The frantic pace of a resort getting ready for the Christmas rush and activities is clearly shown. Along with a personal Secret Santa for Miranda. And who is Matt? And he’s on a sabbatical from what? Looks like we have a mystery for another story down the line.
I had fun with Baker’s Bob. A touch of Christmas, a bit of whimsy and two special, totally unique people to watch over as they fall in love. I enjoyed myself and I believe you will, too. I’d recommend this story and the entire series to any Romance reader. It’s difficult to not get hooked on the fun, romance and people who make up the River’s End Ranch.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
A short (thank God) saccharine sweet book that is absolutely not my style. Some parts were funny, but there's something weird(read:annoying) about a grown man who thinks being insulting is flirting.
Another book in the River's End Ranch series from the author obsessed with Disney, people named Bob and big egos, crazy people and excessive use of exclamation points. I was getting tired of Kirsten's books, and although this wasn't particularly good, it was a little bit better than previous ones. Bob's and Miranda's characters have been seen in previous books in the series fighting, but in this book they start a romance, where as crazy as the situations seems, they seem to fall for each other and follow the love hard, marry fast theme that all of Kirsten's books, and most in the series, follow.
This book was an improvement from previous ones, but that doesn't mean it was a great book. It was much better than Bridget's Beau, and that comparison could make it seem better than it really is. If you haven't read much from Kirsten, it would be a good book, if you have read most of her books, I'm sure that the Bob joke would make you sick.
Omg this story was fantastic.it went from the main character being antagonistical to such a sweetheart. I love stories that have food in them.i now have to find a recipe and see if I can make kolaches. I learned about this author through Pioneer Hearts and decided to check this out. Great story, took less than a day to read. I recommend this book and author to all.
This story was one of the best in the series. We have been introduced to Bob, the chef at Kelsie's Cafe, in earlier books. Miranda is the baker at the bakery in the Rach and we have met her in earlier books too. The characters are written so likeable and relatable to. The story line was excellent! I could read a series of books about just Bob and Miranda!! Great read!!
How does Miranda take it for a year of someone complaining about what she does for a living. Does he think he is just teasing her, with noticing her everyday. Unusual story to go from that to being in love. Enjoyable, to see how they finally got passed the awkward stage as though they were in grade school.
Even with this being the sixteenth book in the series you follow along with no problem. A quick read pulling you in from the start. Bob only gave Miranda a hard time because he doesn't know how to express his feelings any other way. The book isn't about the family run River's End Ranch but about the people who work there and how they all become one big family together.
Bob is such a unique person and the way he treats Miranda at first is funny. He was acting like a kid. Miranda is the baker who brought cookies to the restaurant that Bob was the chef in. They are so funny. This ranch sounds so fun during Christmas time. The people on the ranch seem so wonderful. Love Kelsi and her weird names for the baby.
My impression of Bob using direct quotes from the book: - Miranda: he was just a big bozo who yelled at her about cookies. (Yep yhat's my impression) - Bob sighed. “Picking fights is my way of telling you that I like you. I was flirting with you.” (that's just dumb) - Miranda: “I swear that man confuses me just a little bit more every day.” (Yep exactly Miranda
I love Bob and Miranda story. Bob has loved Miranda from first sight. Bob started to flirt with Miranda by picking on her backing skills. Miranda finally finds out that Bob is in love with her. It is a great story.
I love to bake and this book was so good I could not put it down until I was done reading the whole book. You feel your right there on the ranch. Great story for the holidays.
Beautiful, quirky, funny. Loved the description of life as baker and chef. Romance with laughter and tenderness. Part of a series but I had not read series and the book held its own.
Miranda White the baker at River's End Ranch never expected to fall for Bob Blakely the cook from Kelsey's Kafe. This story had me laughing out loud at times. A fun read.
Delightful humorous romance. Loved the interaction with Bob the Chef and Miranda the baker. Fast paced plot and twist and turn action made me enjoy this fun story. Enjoyed attending all the Christmas festivities at River's End Ranch. Great holiday read or Christmas in July read.
She’s a baker and he’s a chef. They work at a destination ranch and love their work. He teases her about her cookies, she doesn’t realize he’s flirting until he asks her out.
Cute and funny romance about a chef and a baker who at first seem to be at odds with each other. Bob, the chef, comes off as grouchy when he complains about her cookies when she makes her delivery to the Ranch each morning.
Made my day. Loved the whole thing! The "flirting", the kissing, the unconventional approach to everything. Love all the cooking and baking stuff. Pastor Kevin is a gem! A real " feel good" book!!!😁
Love and humor go together for me. My own husband was a jokester so it really rings my chimes. I dread reading the last in the series and hope it isn't soon.
Short story which has its awh moments as well as those funny laugh out loud ones too. Some characters have no filter and it makes the story so much more interesting.
