This book focuses on the "Dao" of ruling a state/empire. The author clearly favors the Qin Shi Huang. Even though the author criticizes the historical accounts and evaluations of this part of Chinese history by ancient historians, he seems to withhold some "unfavorable" facts when he tells the story.
Overall, I have seen better storytelling and descriptions of characters in fiction. Through a non-fiction lens, this work is worth 5 stars for its attempt to independently assess the history more than two thousand years old.
