Just a few months ago, I had the pleasure of discovering S. J. Batsford and her unbelievable ability to weave a riveting story line with addicting characters. You get so attached you wonder what they are doing long after you read the last line of the book. I fell so hard for the characters from “In A Blink Of An Eye” and she left us wanting to know more about the complex and frustrating Ethan. I was beside myself to be able to read “With A Beat Of My Heart” and experience more of Ethan's world from his thoughts, feelings, and all of his sexy actions. What I didn't expect was to feel was so much sympathy and love for him after wanting to strangle every last breath from him for his and Lily’s relationship. Soon S. J. Batsford once again had me hanging on her every word and ready to jump in bed with Ethan and his new lady love.
Ethan Barker manage to melt, steal, and shatter my heart just like in the first book in the series much like he did with Lily. So to say that I had mixed feelings about this hero is an understatement. But never fear, S. J. had me tripping over my heart and turning pages quick enough to get a cramp in my finger and whiplash wanting to know more about Ethan and his screwed up situation. By the end I was putty in his hands once again and reluctant to say goodbye to him and his shadowed, secretive past.
I thought that Lily was Ethan's soul mate but little did I know that S. J. could create someone even better to help Ethan along on his road to redemption. She is most definitely the yin to his yang and had my heart wrapped around her finger in no time at all.
S. J. Batsford delivers another story that shows her readers once again that life takes twist and turns that we would never know or expect but give us the love and happiness that we need to fulfill our destiny. I highly recommend “With A Beat Of My Heart” for a story full of regret, atonement, forgiveness, unbridled passion, and of course a love like none other. I cannot get enough of S. J. and her stories that keep you guessing and wanting much more of these amazingly real characters. After reading the second book in the Loving Lily series, I am beyond impatient and restless to read more about Mason and Niles. I am sure that S. J. Batsford will have readers just as enamored and thrilled to meet her newest characters and venture back into this fictional world we have all become obsessed with.

This is the 2nd book in the Loving Lily Series I strongly suggest that you read In The Blink Of An Eye first to get to know the character's.
This book is has so many different feelings packed into it and loads of hot sex scenes. For the people that have read the 1st book Ethan was betrayed as such a bad guy and you may think that he is getting what he deserves.
Ethan is at the lowest point in his life having to face things that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. His wife has screwed him over big time making him give up the woman that he loved Lily. As the book goes on the betrayal and lies gets worse for Ethan. The only light in his life are his kids that he adores and his family. Enters Amy and she is his saving grace but Amy comes with a little girl called Bailey. Ethan and Amy have loads of ups and downs to face. Amy also has a major problem of her own to battle. She hasn't got the best track record when it comes to her choice of men.
When Ethan and Lily's relationship comes to light how will Amy take it?
Will they be strong enough to survive everything that is thrown in their path?
Will the get their HEA?

Another great book by S.J. Batsford. I adore this series and its characters.
Ethan wasn't exactly the perfect gentleman with his previous behavior, but, as with all good tales, this wasn't without reason. Now we get to see Ethan's side of the story and see where his path leads.
In this book, the second in the Loving Lily series, we are reunited with our old friends once again.
This time we read from Ethan's POV and get to hear his side of some of the events from book 1, we also get to see him fall in love and risk his heart again in the aftermath of Ashley's destructive and manipulative relationship with him.
I loved this book, getting to catch up with the characters and their lives and to see how much the babies have all grown. It was like a wonderful reunion and a whole new story combined.
If you've not read book 1, you seriously need to because book 2 is just as amazing.
I couldn't stop reading once I'd started.

This story is about Ethan and how his life is a mess. Problems after problems and every obstacle life can throw at him, he has to face it. They say Karma is a bitch and Ethan is going to find out how bitchy Karma can be.
I loved this book about Ethan. Especially because I had a soft spot for him even after he burned all his ships so to speak.
4,5 stars... I wanted to read more.

I have to say I wanted to still kill Ethan in the beginning of this book. However, when he meets Amy and he grows even more as an adult, I realized I began to love him as a person and not just a dad. I received this book for my honest review. Once Again a well-written must read story. it's the second one in the series and it's only improving with the complexity of these characters. I'm glad Mason will be next

5 Brilliantly Bright Stars!!!!!
OK first off Ethan redeemed himself of being the biggest douche. And I love how Susie threw that word "douche" into his amazing story a few times lo!!! She laughed AAT me when I tagged him as a major douche in the first book. So happy redemption for the douche.
This story starts off where book one left off but at the wedding of his ex and him proclaiming love for her still. The next day tragic happens....then everything starts spiraling out of control with twists and truths pouring out.
We meet Amy a nurse and it's insta-love!! Her and her daughter Bailey move in with Ethan to take care of him. Bonds are forged and a family starts to emerge.
Then we go into dealing with a web of lies, betrayal, and lots of ytruths and twists. Let me tell you this book had everything I want in a brilliantly written story. This book had hot as hell sex scenes, fast paced storyline, lol moments and was just awesomely told.
This book just came out today and I devoured it!! Can't wait for Mason's story and hopefully more twists revealed and resolved. Love how we are getting glimpses from past characters and meeting new ones. So worth the wait.....thank you Susie for keeping me entertained.

From a-hole to saint
This the second book in this series. In the first on Ethan was an a-hole. I didn't like his character at all. This book is his redemption. He's still not my favorite, but at least in this one he is more of an adult. This book is a romance with a HEA, and can be read as a stand alone, but you would understand the relationships better if you read book 1. This has a couple of unexpected plot twists. Its well worth reading.

I really enjoyed this book, it has a great mix of cute kids, hot sex and a lot of family drama. It was fun to follow Ethan on his journey and I can't help but wish for a book two in his point of view :)

You know you're reading an amazing author when she can get you to go from despising a character to falling in love with them. S.J. Batsford has an awesome writing style that brings the characters to life and can see the conversations happening in real life.

We met Ethan in the first book & I have to say I didn't really think much of his character & that continued through to the start of this book.
However, the further I got into this book & the author brought this story to life Ethan started to win over my heart with all that life was throwing at him.
S.J took me on a whole range of emotions while reading this book, so when I reached the end I wasn't ready for the story to end.
I wanted more.

This book is really amazing. It's full of emotion ranging from sheer hate to unadulterated love. Ethan's life seemed to be going from a bad to worse until he meets Amy.. It was beginning to look like he could have a happy ever after but things don't always go to plan. He soon finds out how hard life can be . I got so engrossed in this story and could literally feel the beat of my heart at times. The dialogue between the characters is engaging and very true to life. I could feel the love and the heartache throughout the book..I didn't want it to end and can't wait for the next story from this very talented Lady!!

A truly emotional read almost as good as book one. This time things have changed for Ethan. After waking up and finding out things have drastically changed he also soon comes to take a real serious look at the relationship between him and Lily. The story takes us on a rollercoaster of activity as this are played out and it is an excellent read well done. The love and energy this author puts into her characters shine thru in every word. This author has the uncanny ability to make a twist out of a twist as she brings the story to a close and Ethan finally gets his hea.
I love what and how she does things with her characters, how he tells their story and the passion they always have which is deep and complete. Great story with the hint of so many others being developed.

I hated Ethan as much as my readers and fans, but this book won me over. I am over the moon with how his story turned out.

Its a good story if you like a great romance.

I love Ethan again!
This is the second book in a four book series called Loving Lily.
I had all sorts of emotions while reading this, happy, sad, angry.. repeat. I really enjoyed Ethan's book and I can't wait for Mason's.

WOW.... S.J you have done it again! How have you made me fall back in love with Character that I wanted to punch in the face in Loving Lily??? Yet again (with no surprise) your second book had my emotions on a rollercoaster! I hated Ethan and was wondering how he can sort he's shit storm of a life out after what he did to Lily.... Well I love him even more!! How the hell has that happened???
