Rate this book
WHAT CAN YOU FIND INSIDE A DREAM?

Her dream to become a nun started when she was still a child. But somewhere along the way, Elaine forgot about this dream. Until one day, it resurfaced through a vision.

At 24 years old, Elaine finally decided to enter a religious congregation to fulfill her childhood dream. Besides experiencing overwhelming joys and challenges in the different aspects of her life, she also faced a series of encounters with her true self and her greatest Love. What she gained in the four corners of that convent was way beyond what she had expected.

Based on the journal entries Elain wrote from her old study desk to the rickety table in her room at the convent, this memoir will take you on a journey of discovering your greatest call, taking unexpected detours and finding the path to your true destiny.

This book is brimming with life. From the words that flow like water, to the stories that paint vivid pictures, Elaine’s "Finding You" has taken hold of me from start to finish. She takes us on a journey that is filled with as much faith as there is uncertainty, with as much trust as there is doubt, with as much wonder as there is mystery.

Reading this book made me realize again that sometimes, journeys don’t always take us from point to point, from beginning to end — sometimes journeys take us full-circle, and it is only when we are back where we began that we would realize that the very things we are looking for are with us all along.

Sa wakas, natapos rin! I initially bought this because I was planning to start (or in the midst of) discerning for my state of life. And I thought it would give me another perspective.... Hindi naman pala.

Well, actually it slightly did din pala. Haha!

But I think when you're leaning towards another state of life, a lot of things will easily make sense while on the way.

This book was enjoyable to read. I felt like I was with Elaine during her journey, and that might have been her goal when she wrote this.

I might recommend this book to someone who is interested in the religious (convent) life. You could be discerning if to enter one, or just plain curious. But honestly, I don't think this will have a strong pull on your decision. But the takeaways will definitely help you to know and realize more about yourself - who you are in God's eyes. And that is what the journey is all about, isn't it? Hehe!

This book stayed long in my shelf before I finally decided to flip the pages one by one. I always hesitated, thinking it might just create confusion about my decisions.

I'm grateful that I did found the courage for this book!
I cried alot. I reflected alot.

God loves us and He just wants to be with us where ever we go. Allow Him to be.
