The “Garden Girls” are horrified when they stumble upon a dead body after Lucy reveals a secret she’s been hiding from them for weeks.
They soon learn that not only are they up to their elbows in a murder investigation but also caught up in the middle of a counterfeiting investigation headed by the U.S. Secret Service.
Things go from bad to worse when they learn that someone is stalking Lucy. With a murderer on the loose and determined to clear their friend’s name, can Gloria and the Garden Girls solve the mystery and save their friend from dying for dollars?
I enjoy the mysteries in this series because most of the people are good people who are pleasant to read about, although of course there have to be some bad guys in a mystery series. But I do not like mystery stories where everyone is despicable and I don't care about the solutions because what happens to people is either what they deserve or better than what they deserve. Fortunately with Hope Callaghan as the author, I know that most of the people will be good people or at least people who are trying very hard to be good, even if they do not always succeed, which is not necessarily unrealistic. Of course, some people are lazy enough or self-centered enough that they do not even try to be good, and some people are desperate enough that they do not believe that it is possible to be good and survive, and sometimes it seems like some people are in a desperate enough situation that there is no obvious solution to their problems. But this book is not about people who were that desperate. It involves some people who do not care if they hurt others, but fortunately it is about a lot more good people who do care and who together are more than a match for the bad guys. That is the type of mystery book that I like best.

The Garden Girls are up to their eyeballs again in this mystery. It was a lot of fun reading about Lucy and Margaret’s new endeavor and I hope to read more about it in the next book of the series.
I love how I’m always reminded in Hope’s books to turn to God immediately in times of trouble.
The book is well written and enjoyable. I like the importance of faith to the characters. It’s a well written, well paced book that you just want to keep on reading. There are a lot of surprises in this book although not so ridiculous to be thought unbelievable. This is the first novel by Callaghan that I’ve read. Overall I liked it.

Was a great read. As all of Hopes books.. The story line is always written as if your right there watching every move. And at times she slips in humor just when you least expect it and laugh out loud.

Another excellent chapter in the lives of the Garden Girls. Their antics are really quite believable, as you can imagine a close not gang of girls getting up to all sorts of antics in their latter years. A super read.
Dying for Dollars is the 16th installment in Hope Callaghan’s Garden Girls Cozy Mystery Series and is a great addition to this outstanding series. Once I started reading this book, I didn’t want to put it down, and was sorry when I read the words ‘the end.’ As always, Ms. Callaghan has written a well thought out and interesting mystery, with a good story line and excellent character development. The writing style flows smoothly at a steady pace. The mystery is well thought out and there are enough suspects, and twists and turns to hold the reader’s interest. Ms. Callaghan's books are always clean reads and share a strong message of love, friendship, compassion, and caring. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a well-crafted cozy mystery.

Dying for Dollars (Garden Girls Christian Cozy Murder...
This book was a bit harder to get not than the older stories, but by the third chapter, I was unable to put the book down. Gloria is one of my favorite characters. Her friends are ones I could see myself being friends with.
Gloria and her the Garden Girls solve another mystery involving a murder and counterfeiting ring. Dying for Dollars can be read as a stand alone.
