Savage, Broken, Beautiful: Beauty and the Beast Made Smutty

Rate this book
To save her father from prison, geeky graphic artist Arabella Blume agrees to sell herself to Aurélien Sauvage, a young French billionaire whose life is shrouded in mystery and strange and conflicting rumors.

When she’s immediately whisked away to a remote island, Arabella braces herself for all kinds of torture. But instead, her new life is more perplexing than terrifying.

During the day, the staff pampers her like a princess.

But as for the nights –

They’ve become her most precious and shameful secret.

When all is silent and dark, Arabella succumbs to the dangerously addictive passion of her master. Night after night, he listens to her, he talks to her, he makes her laugh, he makes her forget – and later on, he fucks her.

He fucks her long and hard, he fucks her until she passes out, he fucks her so, so beautifully, and Aurélien promises to cherish her forever – for as long as she doesn’t break his rules.

Never talk about me to anyone.

And she doesn’t.

Never kiss me.

And she doesn’t.

And the most imperative, my beauty – never, ever try to look at me in the light.

But Arabella does.

She doesn’t mean to, but it happens, and that’s when Arabella realizes all along she’s been making love to an animal.

A man with a beautiful face, sapphire eyes, and a lethally powerful body, but at the same time a beast with terrifying horns, claws, and fangs –

Oh my God.

La bête Sauvage.

It’s what the islanders have been whispering about – something they’ve always known but never told her, something she thought she understood but didn’t, something that may change the way she sees him –

Aurélien.

Her owner.

Her lover.

And he seems to know this, too, as the beast – her beast – asks quietly,

Do I frighten you now, ma belle?

Do I disgust you?

Do you want me still?

ARC given in exchange for an honest review...

Sexy little read with fabulous editing. I loved the beast, Aurelien. He was such a tortured soul, looking for a second chance at love. He found it with Arabella Blume. She fought it at first, as all good captives do, but one can't resist a Frenchman's charms for long, and when she finally gives in, it's explosive.

If there were one thing I could change, it would be how things ended with Louise. I feel like that's a loose end that needs to be tied up. In the beginning of the book, Louise and Aurelien are in a relationship, but even though we soon find out what a wretched person she is, Aurelien is left in the dark. I really wish Louise had gotten her comeuppance, but that may just be because I hated her so much.

I usually enjoy Marian Tee's books. Always a bit over the top which I like, but this one was not for me.

I loved this book as "light escapist reading". The plot is of course right out of Beauty and the Beast and rewritten for adults. I enjoyed the love story but compared to other Marian Tee's books it would not stack up as anything more than a light read. For me that was OK. It was exactly what I was looking for so I wasn't disappointed but I suspect that most readers might expect something that has a little more meat. I hesitate to say this as I suspect my feelings are colored by the fact that I know the story of Beauty and The Beast so well that I kept wanting more new content. But for me it's still a 5 star book, just don't expect it to be anything deep or heavy. I enjoyed it.

In my opinion, this is a unique and sweet re-telling of Beauty & The Beast, Disney version. I think Marian Tee did a great job creating this fantasy island, and I wonder if her other stories will tie into this world as well.

I especially look forward to reading more of Aurelien and Arabella and their love story, as only Marian Tee can write.

Please note that I received a free copy of this story.

Disappointing

I love Marian Tee's books. I love her characters and the settings but I did not like this book. I didn't find it entertaining and kept putting it down. I was very disappointed because she is such a great writer.

I received a copy of this book from the author. This is definitely a beauty and the beast tale. Our beauty gets into a deal to save her father by offering herself up to be held captive on an island. The owner of the island is a very smart guy who bypassed the way is also part beast. They get to know each other in the dark and when the time comes to reveal himself...well I'm not gonna say what happens. You need to read the story!

A cage was still a cage, no matter how lovely.

Beastiality at its finest.

What the heck did I just read? Lol. I actually liked this book no matter how-disturbing-or different rather the story is. A retellling of beauty and the beast with sex-y stuff. You know what I mean.

It's pretty short so not all questions are answered throughout the whole story but it is somehow okay. I mean I accept the ending and it's always happy ever after (?)

... is it?

Anyway, what I didn't like was the instalove. Of course. Shouldn't be a surprised but it still ticked me off. A few weeks with your captor and just by talking with him in the dark because he says charming stuff doesn't necessarily mean you'll fall in love immediately. Cliche.

But really, the book is fairly okay. The story is engaging and the leading girl is acceptable... at times. So yeah.

Uhm... Yup.

That's a wrap.

Like how that rhymes and hated how I feel stupid by doing that. Anyway. As I was saying, this is an okay kind of book which means acceptable in some sorts. The kind of book that can remove you from book slumo because it's fast paced and entertaining.

So yeah... it was.. Uhm... Okay. Bye.

>Book review - Savage, Broken, Beautiful: Beauty and the Beast

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast story and ends in an HEA for the relationship, but a cliffhanger for the plot. The prologue gives a scientific, rather than magical reason for the existence of the beast, Aurelien. He becomes more beast than man after an iffy girlfriend and a strange cult attack his island, killing his father.

>I am unsure how Arabella showed up on Aurelien's radar, but soon she is sent to the island as a slave to release her father from obvious trumped up wrongdoing in Aurelien's company. The characters on the island mirror the unique characters from the Disney version of this story, causing quite a bit of lightheartedness and humor. The beast spies on Arabella and they eventually fall in love. The relationship has its ups and downs, and is very sweet and romantic.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 4 stars. I am unclear as to why Aurelien went with Arabella when he felt the island was safe enough for a woman again. Why didn't he bring his old girlfriend back? He claimed to love her and that had not changed.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty and the Best is my favourite fairytale and I have read a lot of adaptation and I was happy with this one. Arabella is ready to do anything to save her father and ends up signing her life to Mr Savage and being carried to a mysterious island where escape is impossible.
Aurélien is a very secretive and dark character that we barely see but his presence is overwhelming and seducing Arabella from the dark.
I liked how the two first became friends, how they would talk through the night. The fact that she never sees him adds to the mystery but also to the depth of their relationship in my opinion.
I really liked that Aurélien was not cursed, just looking for love as he is, not because he wished to change.
What I did not like was the lack of action that could have made the story but a bit more dynamic, specially when we have a lot of unanswered questions about he Naturalist, about Louise, about what happened to Arabella's father.... I really hope to see sequel soon :)

DNF at 20/30%

I had high expectations of this and was actually excited to read it and when I did. I was dissapointed. So much.

I expected a smart sassy character but all I get is a whiny and stupid one. I was tired of her complaining she's in a cage, its confinement, she being forced, and she literally a prisoner.

WTF.

At first I was confused if she really is because that's not what the blurb said, so I went few chapters back and Miss Girl here was given a CONTRACT. She had fucking CHOICE. She was given an OPTION. They had an AGREEMENT. She SIGNED IT.

So why would you complain on something you agreed to. Even if you don't have a choice, you don't get to complain on the people around you and say you're a prisoner when you WILLINGLY SIGNED A CONTRACT saying you'll be okay for terms and conditions and he owns you.

Bullshit.

ARC given for honest review

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. This was the first book I have read by Marian Tee and I really enjoyed it. I loved that it was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The beast believed that he was hard to love while Arabella is jaded by the fact he bought her and owned her. Their conversations in the shadows brought them closer and the love grew even with ought them meeting. This book reminded me a lot of how online relationships work even though they were living in the same place. Falling in love without seeing him gave way to Arabella acceptance when she finally came face to face with him. It was a really quick read and I would love to read more of this couple's story.

**ARC RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW**

OMG! This was so totally hot! Talk about guilty pleasures, this book delivers them in spades! Perfect for a time passer in between other books! Even though this was an extremely sweet and sexy read, it does end rather abruptly with many questions still unanswered and that was quite disappointing! So please pick up this read if you totally want a huge naughty version of Beauty and the Beast with a few added differences, but if you're expecting a full and complete storyline...don't hold your breath because that's not provided!!

What a lovely retelling of this Beauty and The Beast story. The twists in this tale were very well done - I loved how this Beauty and her Beast met, explored, enjoyed and loved!!

I have not ever read anything from this author before, but I enjoyed her writing style very much, and the way she crafted her characters and their interactions was also very good.

This is a wonderful light-hearted read. Perfect for a weekend of lazing in front of the fire!

Always so much emotion!

I love this author's writing!! There is so much emotion, not just the good, lusty ones either. I enjoy the range her characters go through. The pain that is emotional makes it more real. This was a beautiful story of the things that are important in love. While missing some of the deep heartache so many of her characters go through, it was beautiful, and lustful and a great read.

This was one of the first book I have ever read from Marian Tee it was an adult version of beauty and the beast, when you are first reading the book you are taken back it has a slow pace but the flow was a good, the characters were well written. I would read another of her books. I had received this story for my honest opinon.

Adult Beauty and the Beast

I love Beaty and the Beast, and I love adult contemporary and Marian Tee provided both. She is one of my favorite authors, and she doesn't disappoint. I only wish her books were longer, and I would pay for it, as she is a great story teller.

These two compliment each other. While Arabella is stubborn Sauvage is playful and a tease. I like that with a bit of a challenge to your imagination this book is a fantasy that turns into an erotic hot romance. A fairy tale that you wouldn't mind at all if it were you in Arabella's position. This is a teasing read tat takes you away from the normal but still wraps you up in every word.

Aurélien is a billionaire, living on a secluded island surrounded by faithful servants. He is bestial physically but sweet, trusting and lonely on the inside. By chance, he hears Arabella say that she could love a beast so he arranges for her to come to his island. I liked Arabella's spunk, she was no wilting heroine. She looked for ways to escape, then was steadfast in her love for Aurélien. This was really quick and so many questions were unanswered in the end, I felt a concrete ending was missing.

In exchange for an honest review, I was given this book as ARC. I love Marian Tee's book. In every book, she has been able to capture my interest over and over until the end of the book. Again, with this retelling of Beauty and the Beast, she has done it again. She is able to pull the enduring characters from a place of suffering and indifference in order to create the perfect scenes in which the beauty tries to save the beast from a downfall that he himself has to control and set free from. This is the smutty version of Beauty and the Beast and I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading this from beginning to end with a satisfactory smirk on my face.
