This was another hard one....part four from the serie Taboo a short one..

Jake prisoner of Weldon... Master of torture in superlative degree
Colton getting drug addicted by a Masterplan from that same Weldon
Trey slave of a man who has all the winning cards in his hand....Weldon
Mace another piece of shit, i didn't figure him out yet, working for.....Weldon.

After been sold by their father, Jake and his brother Colton have been separate kept hostage by a very cruel man named Weldon.
Weldon has big plans for both boys. And all the plans are involved with pain from the highest level.
It's beyond imagination....

Jake has one goal, after put the idea away to kill him self.....he had to safe his baby brother from the hands of all the torturing. How in the hell is he gonna do that...his own body is already broken.....his spirit....?

"I was certain I was about to die from the heartache. But as much as I wanted it I knew I’d never be that lucky"

One thing you should know....Weldon is a watcher....try to imagine what....and multiply by ten
My jaws hurt from gnashing....

Who invents this all.... Master writer of dark (painful) reads of course.
Written in a very appealing way. Every letter eagerly taken.
Always unexpectedly released like a real present.....i only missed the bow around it....
So i will bow to this special author for this great job....

*tap tap* waiting for my next present #5

Understand this read is not for the sensitive ones. There are red flags all over. But if you like dark reads..

Book #4 of 5 in the Taboo series. Well this is what I call a dark story.

I've already admitted I dived in this series because I wanted a twisted and painful story. In this book I got exactly that. Finally, I would say. Because all the previous 3 books were kind of a fluffy romance compared to this one.

I don't want to reveal the horrors and the painful scenes. But what I can say is that I was hooked and glued to the pages. I also couldn't wait for Weldon to receive what he deserved. Poor Colton.

Omg......I think even though this is a quick read I think it is the hardest of the series so far....Poor Colton does not fair well in this one and Weldon is his usual evil self...I really hate that guy....What makes him think he can hurt people like that.....This really is an amazing series...Kol is the master of dark books....An absolute must read x

4.5 star Review by The Blogger Girls.

Things heat up for Jake in this installment, in more ways than one. Weldon discovers that Jake lied about Colton’s age and he is not happy. He, of course, takes it out on Jake, but Colton also becomes fair game. Things are a bit different in the way the brothers are “taken care of” though. Colton has been given drugs (we aren’t totally sure what that’s all about yet) which make his torture a bit more involved psychologically than Jake’s. Although what Jake is put through is also psychological, it is on a different level than Colton’s.

We also learn a bit more about Trey’s involvement, or the reasons behind it. It is still unclear if he will pull through for Jake and be able to save the boys, though it is clear he wants to do something. He seems to be a prisoner to Weldon as well, so I’m not sure how he will accomplish any of this, but we shall see.

Weldon and his goons are beyond evil, and this episode does not hold back in that department. While it is it’s own form of torture having to wait for the continuation of this story, they are coming at a pretty fast clip, and not enough time passes for me to have forgotten exactly where the story left off. You definitely need to read them in order, but if you are a fan of Kol’s storytelling, you won’t want to miss this one.

And here you have it!!! THIS is the Kol Anderson that keeps me up at night, haunted! Taboo is on novelette number 4. Now, Taboo 1 was pushing the envelope on darkness. I found 2 and 3 to be on a more softer-ish side for this author. I KNEW it was coming though. The deep dark terror. The words that will create visions and those will keep you up all night.

Kol has reached the tip top of the depravity mountain with book four. We see Weldon’s truest form. Though, from the last three books, we knew he was sick in the head. In this one, we see not just the sadist that ripples close to the surface but we see his sociopathy in full bloom here.

There is a psychological element to this story but there’s hopelessness too. And even though this one ended with a glimmer of justice to come, you’re not stupid. This is Kol Anderson we’re talking about here. This can go either way. But one thing is for certain. No matter HOW this ends Jake and Colton will never come back from it.

Like I said…haunting!

A little to dark

My rating has nothing to do with the writing of this story but the content went out of my comfort zone.

I have read some dark books "Flesh Cartel," just to name one but this part of "Taboo" has me shaking my head. When the next installment comes out I won't rush to read right away.

If you’re one who enjoys dark reads, series and Kol Anderson - but can’t wait for the follow-up books - then his Taboo series is for you. Although each book ends with a cliffhanger you don’t have to wait long as Anderson has been releasing installments at breakneck speed of about one every two to four weeks!

In this fourth installment of his Taboo series Weldon has sunk to his lowest place yet in his abuse of Jake and Colton; while giving us more insight to his character, what his motives are and what gets him off. Colton’s submissive nature intrigues him and Weldon gets more involved in the process of breaking him down.

Weldon gains his power by hurting the brothers and gains his pleasure by enslaving them. When he forces them to comply with his orders they become conditioned to see him as their master.

Trying to reconcile this Weldon with the one who takes Jake out to eat, visit his father, and watches Jake play with his sister’s children, with the Weldon who rapes, beats and psychologically torments these young men, is the best part of this series. Weldon’s attempts to explain himself to Colton,

“We all need fear… The lamb needs to fear the slaughter and the master needs to take pleasure in that fear so they can both get something out of the kill.”

He continues,

“The only true freedom is in the hands of a master… the only way to be free is when you’re chained up and when the ability to make decisions has been taken away from you.”

Trey emerges from the background and tries to bolster Jake with encouragement to be strong for Colton. He reflects on his own failings and we learn how Jake made a deal with Weldon. As Trey continues to unravel, his desire to help the brothers becomes a realization that he must help them.

The need for power that drives Weldon and his particular brand of crazy continues to be an enigma in Taboo Four. The author has plenty of room to continue to develop Weldon into a very fascinating character and my favorite of the series.

This instalment seemed to bring back the darkness I saw in the first one. It was great, as twisted and disturbing as I am used from the author.

The boys are amazing. I loved them together, there is much love and protectiveness from Jake, it was beautiful. I also loved Weldon, not really loved him, but I felt this was the character I met on the first book, and I was being a little underwhelmed by him in the previous parts, but I saw the monster I liked again. The situation Jake and Colton are into in this instalment is so terrible, so heartbreaking that is not possible to be indifferent to it.

It is great, definitely not a stand-alone, it should be read in the correct order to understand what’s going on and it should be read with caution and consider the same warnings the first book had. I can’t wait to read the next book, I love how this is heading to. I’m really loving this series.

REVIEWED FOR LOVE BYTES

This is shorter than its predecessors but packs a far bigger punch as Weldon uncovers Jakes deceit and makes Colton his target for revenge. Punishment is swift and cruel and makes for a difficult read – not only are you watching Colton lose what innocence and hope he had left but you have to watch Jake bear witness to it all. Kol pulls no punches in this episode.

There is absolutely no way of guessing where Kol is taking is this series. Both boys have been battered, drugged and tortured beyond recognition and they are both in a hopeless situation without any positive outlook for escape. Their one chance may lie with Trey, who we learn a little more about here, but has he got the sense and skill to help them escape from their hell or will he end up making things worse?

This ends at a critical point – just what is the next level for Jake? I guess we have to wait for part 5 to find out that answer and to see where Kol takes the story next.
