“Ever f*cked a pirate?” He was insufferable, deeply scarred, and frustratingly gorgeous, and he was the man who was blackmailing her into tying the knot. Cora Harris has never had luck with men. Being the daughter of a ruthless crime boss tended to put a dent in any relationship, but she never imagined she’d get kidnapped in the dead of night by pirates. She sure as hell never imagined the asshole with the smoldering gaze would threaten everyone she loved if she didn’t become his wife. Only Captain James Crow wants more than just her hand in holy matrimony. He wants her absolute submission. He wants her pain. He wants the one thing she’s never given anyone — her heart. But is he willing to give the daughter of his sworn enemy his in return? “How easily his eyes could make her forget that he was her captor. Not her savior.” But when the truth is revealed, can James keep Cora from the true evil in their midst? Can he win before his revenge cost him more than just his life? And how far will Cora go to free herself of the man who enchanted her, seduced her, and when she submitted, imprisoned her? Vengeance and betrayal will either bring two warring families together or obliterate them all. This book is adult and intended for a mature audience with strong elements of language, sex, and a dirty mouthed pirate. It has cases of BDSM, kink, and violence.
Airicka Phoenix is a new-to-me author and I'm so happy to have discovered her. This book was nothing short of amazing and I was captivated by James and Cora's story within its first pages. It was sensual, suspenseful and evocative. I never knew what was going to happen next and I enjoyed every moment of it.
James was a modern-day pirate. Really can't get sexier than that. After losing his entire family, he spent the last 15 years calling the open seas his home. He always intended to avenge their deaths and his target was De Marco. Cora was De Marco's daughter. Initially set up as a prisoner, the plot thickened as James seemingly had a change of heart. Those pesky things called feelings got in the way as James and Cora navigated their changed relationship.
There was plenty of action, drama, angst, sex, intrigue, deception, betrayal, shots fired, etc. and through it all I got to witness the burgeoning love that developed between these characters. This story was remarkably well-written, eloquent, compelling, and I was colored impressed by the way the author took it up a notch and threw in plenty of humor. If you're a fan of steamy and suspenseful reads, BLOOD SCRIPT should be added to your TBR today!

Took me a bit to get into it, but once I was, I couldn't put it down. My third book by this author and I swear they only get better. Hot (and a lot of) sex, and great storyline with just the right amount of angst. Irresistible and possessive hero with a sweet and non-annoying heroine. And I LOVED the couple together. Literally. Not only could I not get enough of Captain James Crow, but I was obsessed with any scene of him and the heroine together.
I would say it was a bit insta, but it was more of super insta lust, I guess, and it didn't bother me at all. I was trying to think of any reasons why I would give it a lower rating because I'm usually super picky, but besides the kind of slow start and a small separation at the end, I really loved and enjoyed it, even with how long the book was. It had perfect pacing IMO. Definitely worth the price for the length and content, and for sure going into my favorites pile.

This is my first read from this author, and my first read with and about the inside of the Mafia. Thru all the book I keep forgetting that the action of the book was in our days. I kept going back in my mind like it was a historical romance.
When I read the blurb and I saw that the book it is about a pirate, I said: "WooooW.... hell yeah I'm definitely in".😀
Although the book is about a pirate, most of the action happens on the land.
So...we have Cora, a daughter's mob mafia, the most powerful man of all.
Cora is a beautiful brunette with hazel eyes. She loves her parent's very much and she knows very well what business they run. She doesn't have a boyfriend in a long time, because of her father power. Every one of them got scared or got removed. She is very stubborn, funny and sometimes very naive.
And when it comes to defending what is hers... ...man....she can become a really Hot Sexy Badass Woman.
Her father runs and controls everything. When you are the Boss of the Mafia, you expect to be killed, or your family to be in danger because you make harm to a lot of people and you gain a lot of enemies. So Cora is kidnapped, by an enemy of her father, a pirate, but actually, this pirate is made by another enemy to kidnap Cora and wants to use her to get to her father. But plans change.
James is a hot sexy specimen of a man, with dark hair and eyes.
He is very determined, smart, arrogant, protective, dominant and very persistent in what he want's and how he want's it.James loves to be a pirate, loves his ship and his crew...and especially loves to live on the sea/ocean.
His life was ruined by one mob mafia... ...and he seeks revenge with all his soul and his heart. But his time has come. Now he has his chance. He changes the plans, or so he thinks he can change them. But actually the plans change themselves and he doesn't even know.
What I liked about the book was that it had a Romanian character, Nicholas. Yeyyyy. The story was really good and the sex scenes were really hot.
Okay hands down I LOVE THIS BOOKKK!!!! OMGGGG!! Its pretty long-ish but so worth it. Its also my first book by this author and it was delicious 😋 😍 😊 how a pirate captain fell for a mob boss daughter.. match made in dirty heaven.
Some smoking hot scenes, did tear up a time or two and go "lord James stop with that fithly fucking mouth!!!" LOL
It does take a minute or two.. but stay with the book you wont regret it..James... JAMES CROW IS NOW OFFICALLY BOOK BOYFRIEND!!! Yes he is!! When you first meet him boy he a dirty man.. He has a dirty smutty charm that makes you melt like a popsicle on the 4th of july!! 💦💦💦💦💦 He was everything a alpha male should be.. tragic backstory, twitchy hand, banter with his woman and her family.. ughh I tell you. This guy was super insta/love alpha when he meets Cora. I was also suprised how clam and collective he was when he is near Cora dad who he has drama/revenge with, cuz dang you'll understand why, And boy them as a couple.. fire and ice and those banters!! The sexxxy times lord..
Cora she was a great heroine not annyoing to me, sass mouth and used her body when she wanted something from her pirate husband ;). I did have a question with all her training I was suprised she never really went one on one with James in that department even if it ended with them having sexy times..
Why not 5 star.. i wanted JAMES to go after Cora :( I like my men doing the chasing... :/ i wish he man up and went back.. not the other way around..
Low angst, No cheating, no ow/om drama, slight secondary character, drama, Sexy times, no virgins

A modern day pirate AND mafia business all in one book! That checked off so many yeses for me. And Airicka Phoenix did a bang up job with it and I LOVED it!
Captain James Crow has wanted revenge on Giovanni de Marco for years because de Marco was the person behind the death of his twin sister. So when supposed government officials approach him about him helping them to take him down he agrees. Captain Crow ends up kidnapping de Marco's daughter Cora but has second thoughts about turning her over after he gets a good look at her and her fiesty personality. Instead, he gets her to marry him knowing that will help his revenge along. What he doesn't expect is for them to fall in love.
Gah. I just loved all the characters in here! James was alpha and had no problem spanking Cora when she disobeyed him. But at the same time, he made sure Cora was well taken care of and even spoiled. It was sweet. And Cora was submissive in the bedroom and sassy out of it. She was strong and capable and was good for James.
Cora's parents were awesome too. Elise was prim and proper and totally bad a*s. Gio had a dry sense of humor and had me chuckling a few times. Yet he pulled no punches and had no problem showing us why he was the head of the mafia clan.
Great action, hot love scenes and wonderful characters. This was awesome and I will gladly read more from Airicka Phoenix!
*thanks to InkSlinger PR for sharing a copy of this with me*
Holy fucking pirates! That was insanely hot! This book is addicting and oh so deliciously twisted. James Crow is one bad ass pirate, except for when it comes to Cora, who he has captured. Blood Script is full of drama, suspense and so much more. Once you start, there is no putting it down. Each turn of the page brings you something new and you can't help but get caught in the story line and falling for the characters. Cora is head strong and determined to save and protect her family at all cost, even if that means her own life. James, is a stubborn butthead but knows what he wants and will do anything to get it and to protect what is his, even when he's out for revenge. If you are looking for a dark romance that is sick, twisted and freaking epic, this is def the book for you. I love Airicka Phoenix and the books that I have read of hers thus far, I can't wait to devour her next release.
Pirate books are just fun. Let's start there. Yes, I am probably not supposed to be ok with men who kidnap their women, and hold them hostage...I do get this, but darn it, pirate books are fun.
And, I love them. because they are pirate books. And they are fun. Because pirates.
Then there was the blurb. And, I was hooked. And, who wouldn't be? That's a valid question.
This book did not disappoint, not even a little. She was a modern day tavern wench...although in this one, she owned the bar. He was, well, a pirate. Because this is a pirate book.
The writing was strong and the characters consistent, a little rough around the edges but still characters you like and want to get to know more of, to see what happens next. The challenge of a book like this is to allow your pirates to be pirates while still letting them be romantic heroes, and Airicka Phoenix hit that balance well.
I am sure there is a lot that I should say isn't right to be written in 2017, but, the pure honest truth is this book is a pirate book, and a good one at that. So, go into it knowing that it's a book about pirates...and he is a pirate and have fun with it. I did.
I mean, my brain’s nothing to write home about and I’m pretty sure my common sense could use some work as well, but this character was something else entirely.
And it felt like it was done on purpose, which makes it all the more baffling.
And dramatic - dear God, everything about her was so dramatic.
And please keep in mind that I’m judging her based on other heroines in romance books so yeah.... the bar is really low for heroines to start with.
I wish I could explain my thoughts about this book and this heroine, but...I. can’t. even.
I guess one example I can give to try to explain (just because it happened right before I dnf’d), is this scene when the hero tells her she’s a submissive...and she is so shocked, so outraged about this silly notion, just completely our of her mind with this crazy self-righteousness, going on and on about how’s she’s not a weak woman, she doesn’t like pain, how dare he even suggest such a thing! I mean, the gall of this man to think that she could be submissive and therefore weak, when she’s always been so strong, so independent?
*a little side note among all this sarcasm: she’s not strong. Or maybe she is but because she’s so dumb, it confuses you and you can't see it? Who knows...
To suggest that a woman who gets spanked regularly for disciplinary reasons and is dominated in bed every single time (and loves it all) by a man who holds all the power in their relationship, is actually submissive... you must be a crazy person for even considering such a thing! What a strange, winding path you must take to get to such a conclusion!
What will they think of next?!
And the moment it hit her that yes, she does like pain and being dominated - that was just priceless. She has quite a few of these types of revelations throughout this novel where she’d just throw a huge tantrum (crying, shouting, running etc.), then the hero would take one or 2 sentences to explain clearly why she’s wrong and she’d just...get it. It was so odd, why would the author want to make her that stupid?
Or, another example; she’s been kidnapped, kept on a strange ship that is captained by a pirate (not even close to being a cruise ship or anything remotely similar), and the first chance she gets, she just goes exploring the ship on her own? Wtf mate? I mean, walking alone at night as a woman is kinda careless. Walking alone - as a woman! - on a ship filled with criminals that you don’t know, when you’re a captive on that ship... that’s just a whole other level of stupidity that is difficult to grasp, to say the least.
Also, you know how a lot of heroines in romance books loose all train of thought when the hero touches them (who’s always all super cool about it and handling his horniness like a champ?)
Well, let me introduce you to Cora Harris.
She literally can’t walk when the hero touches her.
And him? He’s just smirking and holding her up like a gentleman, cool as a cucumber and smelling like vagina.
Cuz you know, men are well known for their exemplary self-control when it comes to sex. Soft or hard, it doesn’t really matter at the end of the day; a man’s dick doesn’t just take over his faculties willy-nilly (pun not intended initially, but I guess it kind of works)
This is the type of book that reminds me why I quit this genre for almost 2 years - weak heroines, bad characters, POS heroes, nonsensical angst and I’m sorry to say, but also bad writing.
Honestly, the only thing I appreciate about this book is that it takes its time so I got the sense that the author genuinely cares about her content. Too bad the content wasn’t that great - there’s just too much nonsense and dumb, boring characters.
Also, I would like to be very clear that I do not believe that sexual submission equals weakness in any way, as the heroine so vehemently believes. I do however believe she was a very weak person and I couldn’t identify with her at all, since nothing about her character, her decisions or her thinking made any sense to me at all.

When I first read the blurb for this book. I was immediately intrigued with this book . Revenge and Pirates who didn’t’ want anything more
Well there is more to this book and only makes this book even better. Mafia
Phoneix offers a very interesting take on things. Whilst Mafia books have been around for a while. I don’t think I have ever read a book like this and I’m glad that I did take a chance on this author . Captain Jack Crow is on a mission and Cora Harris is his target.
However he doesn’t expect when he kidnaps her the woman that he gets . She spirited and knows how to handle things. She may the only child of ruthless clan boss but this girl knows how to handle herself in every situation. Even the Captain but she draw to him and his ways. He a guy she rather have nothing to do with but Captain wants her and will do anything
Even making her marry him and expecting her to submit to every wish and desire….
Blood Script may be set in the modern times but it a nod to the old in some aspects. Jack is a dashing Captain of the olden days making his name smuggling and other nefarious endeavours. He doesn’t expect to be thrown into the drama and force to act upon it. It very much action driven a result of his firs t moves as he tries to deal with Cora , her families and other parties involved with this story.
Cora isn’t a pushover and she quiet the intelligent woman even though she isn’t prepared for what in store. Phoneix combined the historical elements with the present ones well and delivered a book that I enjoyed a lot. I loved the idea of modern day smuggler meets crime boss princess. It was the best of both worlds and I loved that she sticked to the traditions of those worlds. It was a well written book and the blurb was a key to this novel. If I wasn’t paid such a vivid scenario with tha blurb I don’t think I would have the same experience that I did with this book.
This is a must read for those who love their mafia books and looking for something different. This may be my first book of Phoneix’s but I enjoyed it and loved that it was longer then some of the usual books I read. It need those pages to make it the standout it was.
Yo Ho Ho!! BLOOD SCRIPT by Airicka Phoenix , a ravishing dark romance featuring a primally sexy pirate who imprisons, beds and weds his sworn enemy's sheltered daughter, was beyond epic!!!!! This swashbuckling revenge tale, set against the stormy seven seas, is teeming with BREATHTAKING ROMANCE, THRILLING ADVENTURE, CHILLING SUSPENSE and a SMOLDERING PASSION that's so combustible it engulfed my hearts in flames!!
First... a confession. I am harboring a major case of Stockholm syndrome crush for the rakish Captain James Crow! He is one ruthlessly alluring anti-hero with a penchant for vengeance and panty melting hot domination! This "Wild. Dangerous. Vast. Mysterious. Hard. Impenetrable ” pirate, who commands his ship with an iron fist, literally made me QUAKE! No one dares to defy him and lives to tell the tale!!
"He’s insufferable, if you must know. He’s arrogant and demanding, and outright infuriating."
But beneath the cold, heartless veneer is a profoundly broken man who is damaged beyond compare. He has had his whole family stolen from him, courtesy of his captive bride's nefarious crime lord daddy. He won't rest till his worst foe's blood has been shed in eye for an eye retribution, but there is much more at play here than cruel vengeance and against his will he finds himself falling for the daughter of the man who decimated his world .
Sheltered mafia princess Cora Harris was supposed to be collateral damage, a vessel he used to ensure her daddy atoned mightily for his sins. But the achingly sweet spitfire, whom he coerced into marriage, cannot be tamed and soon he finds himself in a fierce battle of wills with the tempestuous woman who fires his blood unlike any other and brings his brute passions to the fore.
I absolutely ADORED Cora!! She is an enticing combination of beguiling innocence and fiery sass, and was the PERFECT match for our devilish pirate! Cora is far from a subservient crime boss's wife, infuriates her hubby at every turn with her disobedience and blind loyalty to her traitorous kin, but nevertheless bewitches him, tantalizes him, and Captain James cannot resist basking in her beautiful, shimmering light. She softens his jagged edges (but thankfully not TOO much!) and brings hope and healing and the possibility of redemption into his dark, dismal world. What started as diabolical quest for cold blooded revenge evolves into so much more. A primal need to CONQUER and CLAIM and SAFEGUARD what’s his at all costs. But will surrendering her heart to Captain Jack entail selling her soul to the devil?
“I will never be your white knight....but I will be your villain. I will be your monster. I will build for you, destroy for you. I will kill for you. I will protect you, but I’m not capable of love. No monster is.”
Well, as it turns out, there is much more at stake than either imagined. For there are other enemies looming overhead, bringing storm clouds to the high seas that could capsize all their carefully laid plans, rip James’s beloved Cora out of his arms and sweep them both up into a riptide of swelling despair! And when all is said and done, Captain James is faced with an AGONIZING choice that could shatter both their worlds. Will love trump revenge or will they both be dragged into the dark abyss?
Wowza! Airicka Phoenix is a new to me author but I am now her new #1 fan!!! Her writing is so entrancing it leaves you HYPNOTIZED and I felt as if I was drowning in a sea of INTENSE feels and hedonistic, rapturous bliss!!!! While not overly dark in my opinion, it does have its raw, grisly moments that send chills down your spine, as well as sizzling hot sexy times that were so steamy I had to fan myself off!!! This is the kind of high octane romance that you lose yourself so completely in you never want to come up for air!!! James and Cora OWNED MY HEART from page one. Their soul burning hunger could not be contained and they want each other with a ferocity it hurts! Their love is toxic, dangerous and UTTERLY IRRESISTIBLE but it's the very thing that draws them together that could destroy them both.
At its core, BLOOD SCRIPT is a THRILLINGLY TWISTY novel about blood lust and revenge. Passion and peril. And a love that proves to be the GRANDEST TREASURE of all! There is edge of your seat drama, palpable roiling tension and soul shattering emotion throughout, and I was always bracing for the worst, but what I got instead was a wildly sexy, action-packed, wondrous romance they made me yearn to be spirited away by a dark pirate captor of my own!!
Hold on tight! Blood Script will take you on the ride of your life. Jam packed with suspense, and a sexual chemistry so hot that it could burn you by reading, this is a fantastic read.
I seriously couldn't not get enough of this book. I found myself not wanting to put it down for anything. The book paints scenes that you'd swear was a movie playing in your head.
The journey of Blood Script is an unforgettable one that any romance lover should read. It's seriously addictive.
Modern day pirates???!! Wtaf???!!! When I heard about this story initially, I just KNEW it was historical. It's not Phoenix's genre of choice so I assumed she decided to dip her "literary toe" to test the waters. AND I'm just NOSEY enough to follow. Well FML! Phoenix pulled a whammy and literary kicked my booty! I couldn't be more whipped if I were whipped cream in hot chocolate!
So first BS is not historical. Captain James Crow is an uber sexy, super bold, 6'4 ft tall glass of yummy! Dude actually pirate a ship with a live crew! Something horrible happens and he's waited years to confront those responsible. In the midst of his uh plan a hiccup occurs in the form of a 5'4 fireball! Ship. In the middle of the Atlantic. James. Cora. Crew. Revenge. It's a nasty turn of events I tell ya!
I absolutely DEVOURED this story! It's yummy, it's dramatic, it's perfect!!! James is magnificent in all his glory and every morsel on his body deserves to be consumed slowly. However, I'm too greedy and impatient to take it slow!
2 weeks! That’s how long I have been trying to get through this book. I have read four books in between this one. This book is long and overly boring. The first 40% is so hard to get into and I contemplated dnf a 100 times. Once there was something to grasp on it fizzled out dramatically. I can’t even remember anything from this because I just wanted it to end. I skimmed majority of this and at 80% I just didn’t care anymore and skipped to the epilogue. Even that was lame. This novel was only a waste of time. Disappointed in this author for this crap.
Holy Fuck, what an amazing book. Wow. Where the heck have I been? Seriously how come have I not read any of this author’s books? Because Blood Script blew me away. Technically Blood Script had enough blood pumping storyline to make my heart go on a frenzy. Blood Script was my first book from Airicka Phoenix and as I said where have I been because this book was freaking fantastic. Blood Script was a story that gave me so much excitement that I could not contain at all. I wanted to shout at the heavens at how freaking phenomenal this book was to me. I was so hooked. Blood Script offered a unique and fast pacing dark romance that had enough edge to cause so many chills down my spine.
Blood Script totally brought out the suspense I crave in a book. I was submerged in all the drama that it seriously made me question my insanity at times. Wickedly brilliant. Electrifying. Gritty. Blood Script was a tempting story of pirates, toe curling tension, sexual control and sin. It was a gush of wind that rattled my heart. It was a crippling effect of epic proportions that fueled the fire inside me. I was stunned. I was pulled in. I was riveted. Blood Script was panty melting mix of goodness that brought enough pleasure in me. Airicka Phoenix definitely impressed me. She brought enough artistry and difference to the book that definitely sparked with life. It was genius to me. Blood Script kind of reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean but more edgier, more darker, more modern and oozing with red hot passion enough to burn a hole in my soul and enough to give me pulsing hot tremors on my skin. Blood Script definitely was a phenomenal read.
In a book, the characters make the book interesting. And let me tell you, James and Cora really stood out for me in this book. Wow. They had that spicy hot chemistry that was both tongue waging but also with enough chemistry to get me on the edge of my seat. It was beautiful. It was sexy. It was deliciously indulgent. It was undeniable smack on your face erotic. I felt it in my veins. They were definitely one of my favourite couple. Yes. James and Cora ticked my bones in a good way. I was invested on their thoughts together as a couple.
Cora really shocked me as a heroine. I love my heroine with enough fight and drive and Cora had it. She was feisty, strong and badass woman that really made me love her. I definitely would want to her best friend. She is that type of heroine you could have fun with. I also that she had vulnerability without her being weak. It added a good element to her character. James reminded me Captain Jack Sparrow but hotter, sexier and just perfect. I loved him. Omg, he was delicious. He made my ovaries melt. Sweet baby that man was just on a league of his own. He was a fine piece of man that I wanted to take on a wild ride with. Oh gosh his mouth, his cockiness and his dominance was sexy as hell. I want him. Man, he was a dangerous criminal but he made my blood boil. I loved every moment of it.
Blood Script introduced me to a fantastic author I will be stalking more of. I want more of her books. This story was a hold on tight kind of read. So be ready.

I LOVE mafia romance with the sort of hardcore passion that is scary, so when I read the blurb for Airicka Phoenix's Blood Script and saw that it features one man's vengeance and a well-planned kidnapping of his enemy's daughter I was elated and excited to the point where it was scary! When this book hit my kindle I dived in, no holds barred and without reservation but I simply was NOT prepared for this incredible joyride!
James and Cora's story about love, overwhelming lust and revenge left me SLAYED!!!!
This book is is smartly written, expertly delivered and down right AMAZEBALLS!!!
The heat that emanates from your kindle will melt your panties faster than the speed of light! James and Cora's chemistry is truly something to behold and the sparks fly from their very first meeting. The fireworks between these two characters are something else! This love-hate relationship will light a fire inside of you and you will LOVE every single moment of the burn!
I adored these two characters. Cora is strong, intelligent, and fiery. I loved the fact that she stood up to James in spite of her precarious circumstances as his prisoner on the high seas. BUT JAMES!!!! Dear lord!!! That dirty mouth of his had me shaking my head in a very good way!!! I blushed and I gasped!! His naughty actions in one scene made this naughty girl damn near experience an episode of spontaneous combustion! YES, this man is the truth and I reveled in his naughty decadence!!!!
Believe me when I say that Blood Script is 100% addictive. This is a true page turner, because I could not put it down. I consumed it within the course of several hours, because I HAD to know how Cora and James' story would end. When it was over I wanted to clap my hands in applause because when it comes to this genre, Airicka Phoenix absolutely delivered!!!
If you're looking for a dark, sensuous, boldly sinful and entertaining mafia romance with some seriously smoking hot bedroom antics then Blood Script is all that and MORE! It has action, it has fire and it is defiantly packing the heat!
4.5 stars When a books blurb asks the question 'Have you ever @&$#£€ a pirate?' then I'm instantly drawn to that book.
This is most definitely not about your swashbuckling, wooden legged, parrot on the shoulder type of pirates, this is a tale of the modern day variety and pretty damn hot ones at that. Especially Captain James Crow and his second in command, Nicholas. This author is also one I have not had the fortune of coming across before.
Unfortunately it took me a little longer than I would have liked to get into the story and if I'm honest, I felt it didn't hold my attention for very long for the first few chapters. Maybe that was initially down to what I felt was an overuse of metaphors and the very long chapters, which at one point felt too much like an uphill struggle. What was clear from the beginning though, was the intense passion and chemistry between James and Cora. However somewhere along the way, I'm not exactly sure when, I started to get used to the authors style of writing. The characters gave me more of their personality and the sex scenes were pretty damn hot, let me tell you. In fact the book took on a completely different feel.
Captain James Crow was the absolute perfect leading man and he certainly met his match with Cora. That girl was seriously feisty and definitely one to keep her man on his toes. I simply love a strong leading lady and for me Cora ticked all the boxes.
I cannot write this review though, without mentioning Nicholas. Because I really would love it if he was to have his own book in the future. Not a great deal was revealed about him but there's definitely more to this guy that I would love to find out about.
Initially I really didn't think I was going to be rating this book as highly as I have, but by the end this story had my complete and undivided attention and this will by no means be the last book I read by Airicka Phoenix. Another great new author I can now add to my TBR list.
WOW!!! What a ride I just took. This was my first Airicka Phoenix book to read and it won’t be my last!
First you have a headstrong Cora Harris who is trying her darnest to sever the ties to her crime family, she has her own business and own place…One night, she is kidnapped and her life will never be the same. Loved her attitude and her unwillingness to back down from anyone or any situation.
Captain James Crow popped my Pirate cherry. I was ready to toss my kindle and jump aboard his vessel!!! Hot Hot Hot his way or no way Pirate that will stop at nothing to bring revenge upon the ones who destroyed his life so many years ago.
The twists and turns have you turning the pages yet when you think you’ve got it all figured out…. The truth is revealed. I felt the beginning of this book was a bit confusing to me. But once the cards were played, the story took off. Hence the reason for losing half a star.
Blood Script by Airicka Phoenix is a romance novel, a stand-alone. Blood Script left me speechles, literally. There are pirates !!!! Handsome, gorgeous pirates !!!! Meet Cora Harris, she owns a bar, has no luck with men or relationships. Because she´s the daughter of a powerful crime boss. And there is Captain James Crow - Eeeeeeep - sorry but I´m a puddle here. He´s a pirate, a arms dealer and raider. He kidnaps her to seek revenge for..... And he wants her to marry him and submit to him. - all for his revenge. As if things were that easy. I greatly enjoyed reading this book. I laughed, I cried ,I suffered with the characters and my jaw hit the flor. I loved reading about a feisty wench and a sassy pirate, their fights, make up and their HEA. 5 Stars and Thank you Airicka Phoenix!
Over the years we had been introduced to many gorgeous alpha males Christian Grey, Gidean Cross, Professor Gabriel Emerson. Every one of this alpha males had something that had you falling hard for them. In 2017 we're introduced to a 21st Century Pirate Captain James Crow.
He not only has the power to striped you from your being but will melt you heart. Revenge is the only thing has him breathing until he meets his siren Cora Harris, a woman that has the power to bring him to his knees.
Airicka Phoenix delivered a story you do not want to miss.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I enjoyed every page of this book, I must admit I have a soft spot for pirates, who wants Prince Charming when you can have a Pirate 😍 I have read other works by this author and I have always enjoyed them, but this is particularly good! The sex is hot and there are some steamy wicked scenes and of course the unexpected turn is events. I definitely advise it if you’re looking for an easy steamy reading and a hot as hell wicked pirate.
There are few "go-to" authors that I don't even have to stop to read the blurb before just diving into the book. Airicka Phoenix is one of those authors. I know before the first page her books are going to draw me in and not let go, so I might as well get comfortable and plan on not sleeping. Blood Script was no different. Fresh, different, imaginative, and off-the-chain hot, are only a few words to describe this book. James Crow just sailed his way to one of the top rungs of my book boyfriend hierarchy. His chemistry with Cora (who, I have to admit, held a special place in my heart just for her name alone,) was explosive, and the story left me wanting nothing. It was complete, fulfilling, and everything I've come to expect an Airicka Phoenix novel to be. There is nothing this woman can't knock out of the park. Witty dialogue, scorching sex scenes, complex character development, and intricate plotlines that are seamlessly woven to weave a unique tale. Pick this one up, you won't regret it.
I haven't DNF'd a book in quite a while and that's why it pains me to quit this book. It started out strong and I was really enjoying it. Somehow along the way I just lost interest and never went back to finish it.
Airicka Phoenix has done it again! From the cover to the intriguing synopsis, the author has once again managed to completely pulled me in to yet another one of her works. Having read Transcending Darkness, I knew the author was going to create something unique that I would end up loving right away and that is exactly what she did.
In Blood Script, we get to meet Cora Harris and Captain James Crow as they embark in an adventure that will change their lives forever. For Cora Harris being the daughter of a ruthless crime boss has taught her a lot of things aside from defending herself, yet she has never had good luck when it comes to men. They either use her for her money or to get to her dad, and that has made it hard for her to trust any man. Having the company of her friends and those around her has made her tough and independent. She doesn't want to be involved in her dad's business, but her own by running a local bar. It was then that she suddenly gets kidnapped by a sexy stranger who seems to know everything about her, and offers her a chance to save those she loves by becoming his wife.
Captain James Crow has it all, he has a ship to run, women and the ability to travel all over the world. He is in the smuggling business and although that puts him at risk every day, he loves what he does and he is very good at it. It is his ability to remain hidden that has police even more frustrated than every before. But just when James was beginning to move on to another job he gets captured by the the police and it's presented with a way to save himself by helping them catch Cora's father. Although he doesn't know what their intentions truly are, he sets himself to get the job done, but never imagines himself falling for the one person he is supposed to hate the most. Now he has to find a way to save her before it's too late.
I absolutely loved reading Blood Script, it had the right amount of suspense and sexiness all throughout the book. I liked James' personality, he is tough and sweet at the same time that had me swooning for him and rooting for his relationship with Cora. Although he is sweet, he does have the need to control and sometimes what he did to Cora had me questioning his intentions. On the other hand, Cora is such a bad-ass and protective over her family (even though she knows what they've done). She doesn't want to do what her dad does, but it is part of her world. She understands the risks that come with being who she is and that has affected her love life. Their was definitely a lot of physical chemistry between the characters the minute they met, and the more they got to know each other, the more connected they felt. Yet, when truths start to come out that they have to face the consequences of their actions if they want a future together. I very much enjoyed reading scenes where Cora's parents are involved, they truly love their daughter and they are willing to do anything to keep her safe. Her mom is such a bad-ass as well, she puts James in his place right off the bat and I loved it. Their romance truly starts to blossom as soon as they start to trust each other. Overall, the book was well executed and the ending was so sweet. I would highly recommend reading this book and any other book by the author. :)

Blood Script was a really enjoyable book from this new to me author. Although this book has been on my to read list for years, I finally decided to give it a try and it was completely worth it. Now, while the beginning was slow for me once it gets going it's an awesome ride. The chemistry between Cora and James was smoking and I loved their HEA.
OK, so I have come to really love and enjoy this author and this was another book that was no exception, it was fantastic!!!!
The storyline was GREAT, the characters were GREAT, I loved the push and pull BUT also LOVED their total connection together that they kept "denying"...ya, there was NO denying what these two had going on, it was HOT, it was sensual, it was erotic, their "spark" seriously turned into a smoking hot INFERNO!!!!
Why not the complete 5 Stars, well, for me it was the ending, YES it was GREAT BUT I don't want my h's to do the "chasing" BUT it was also fitting too in a way BECAUSE we got to get into James's head and heard his internal dialogue so that made it slightly better because he was as smitten as Cora BUT still I wanted HIM to be the one who went after her because she so proved herself to him and she definitely deserved it!!!!!!!!
All in all, another home run by this author for me:)

The idea for this story was great; a modern day pirate! However, the execution was awful. The h was annoying and not a good character. I didn't understand how she could be intimate, almost immediately, with a guy that kidnapped her. Then she agrees to be his whore and the following scene really turned me off from the book. Instead of resisting the H's evil plan she tries to seduce him. How could you be attracted to someone that threatens to kill your mother? Gross!!
I really struggled on what to score this book. The plot and lead male character were fantastic, but it was let down by a totally unbalanced heroine. Cora goes from being feisty and strong to a zombie “must have sex” lunatic in a single paragraph so often that it really grated on my nerves. She takes “Dickmatised” to a whole new level.
Whilst I really liked James, oddly enough my favourite character turned out to be Cora’s Mother…. Now there is a strong solid heroine!
Airicka Phoenix! I love how you write both your protagonists! Their chemistry and dialogue is exactly what I look for in my books to feel completely engaged. Thank you for another outstanding read!
