Brytenwealda

Rate this book
The ancient tribes of Britain are doomed. A new age, in which the kingdoms of the Anglo-Saxons will struggle for supremacy, is approaching. For Wulfhere the ties of tribe and tradition are fading. He must follow the bidding of his gods in order to prove their power and dominion over the middle earth. He has sworn to stand by his friend, Artorius, in order to maintain order, peace and prosperity for his people. Above all, he must continue on the path which might one day see the Wolf Lord become the foremost of all the kings of Britain. The Brytenwealda.
Murder, ambition and hatred drive his enemies, and his allies, through the confused, painful birth of a new order between the kingdoms of Britain. In order to fulfill his destiny he must appease his gods, hold the kingdoms of the Angelcynn together, and prepare for the cataclysmic battle which will shape the future of all of the peoples of Britain, both Sais and Wealh. Only the sisters know how it will end.

A Letdown of Sorts

First off...great series, solid character development, action, battle scenes, historical feeling. Too much dialog in this book though, too much description at times, it seemed like every person Wolfhere talked to had to have the plan retold to again and again. Sloppy Kindle presentation, not too difficult to get the gist, but the purists I'm sure are howling!!!

It really deserves at least 4 stars. I think I’m just kind of over the series. I binge read it and didn’t give myself enough time between books. Wasn’t very impressed by the ending not sure if there’s another book on the way or not. If there’s not another book then I hated the ending.
