ISIS unleashed a weaponized version of the deadly Ebola virus, killing 97 percent of the world’s population. Only the immune and those who hunkered down in remote locations remain. Through the chaos that remains strides a giant of a man known only as Stryker. He is a former Force Recon Marine who has lost as much as anyone, but fights to preserve his honor and creed in the face of slave traders and rogue ilitary elements who prey on the innocent. Edwards, his former battle buddy joins him. Together, they care for three young women who survived the plague and attempt to give them lives that are as normal as possible under the circumstances. After things began to settle down, Stryker and his group started looking for a better place to live and during the search they witness ISIS fighters unloading from freighters in the Corpus Christi, Texas, harbor. Our band of heroes face several encounters with danger, including the epic battle with the band of ISIS terrorists who have invaded the homeland with the intent of occupying what is left of the United States. But, Stryker has another idea for the terrorists: elimination. After concluding their battle with ISIS, with the help of an air strike from a still-functioning U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, the group strikes off to make a new life in San Diego, where the captain of the carrier has decided to berth the ship and use the nuclear reactor to power the San Diego Naval Station and to begin efforts at rebuilding the country. Stryker marries Erin, and shortly thereafter they leave on another harrowing mission to rescue a downed pilot from the carrier, and soon find themselves in another life threatening situation. Follow along as the former Recon Marine and others overcome obstacles and danger in an effort to keep what is left of the American population safe from every threat. If you liked David Nees, author of "After the Fall", you'll love this book.
Stryker finally ties the knot with Erin, but the honeymoon is short lived. No sooner had they reached San Diego and Stryker was sent out on a mission to rescue a downed pilot. Now that they were united Erin was not about to stay home while Stryker risked all; they were now partners in everything. They thought all the ISIS troops were gone; either dead or returned to their ships. Evidently not! A large force of 500 ISIS soldiers were observed once again heading west toward San Diego. It appears the force assumed to be returning to their ships did not. Instead, they regrouped, acquired more weapons and vehicles, and resumed their initial mission. It’s now up to Stryker & crew to complete the deadly mission they started.
I found this one to be pretty satisfying. There might be more story to tell, but one of my biggest complaints with post-apocalyptic stories is that even when there are not enough survivors to fill a football stadium scattered across an entire continent, there seems to be an endless supply of evildoers who seem able to find the protagonists. It seems never to reach a point of people surviving in a natural world for which they are ill equipped and without any skills for surviving in a renaturalizing world. How do they survive with no knowledge of hunting, fishing, or farming without technology?
Great characters and awesome plot twists!!! An homage to the Marines. As terrorists spin a world wide plot with a weaponized germ, devastation aflicks all but 3% of the world. Now the hard work of living begins. The people who are evil come to play and so do the fanatics. Our heros' save lives, forge tight bonds, and try to go on with life amid devastation. Even love can be refound. The terrorists do not ever give up. More novels are needed to end this saga and I really want want several more.
I have liked this series a lot overall. Stryker can be frustrating and pig-headed. This had a lot of action but the ending seemed to just fizzle. I can't see that there is a book 5 planned (which would be nice). If not, this should have ended with a lot more emphasis on the characters and not a thin hanging thread.
Loved the series! Please don't end it now!!! The story is believable and the characters are spot on. I could feel the sweat, the dirt, the anger and the frustration coming off the character of Stryker. Lots of loose ends to the up. I'll wait patiently...sort of...for the next story. I have faith in you! Just one of many fans Garrett
Over the course of the books the author continues to grow and expand the characters while maintaining their core definition and integrity. Do need to come up with one more book and ha e a final, final ending.
I really enjoy the character of Stryker. The action and the realism of the situations he gets into get my adrenal going. I hope Bobby Andrews continues with this series.
I love Stryker....hero.....man....appears unafraid...fights for his beliefs...
I sure hope the Stryker Saga continues....really would like to read about him having his family and being a great all around family man....that isn't afraid to protect his own
I think that one more book could finish the series. Have greatly enjoyed the last 4 books. One more ever all go off to happiness. Then you have time to do other books and then come back with more exciting adventures.
This series may or may not be finished. At the end of each book, the author says to vote for continued books by posting a review. Which is a little bit like blackmail, no? But I confess that I did anyway (on Amazon), so I guess it works.
I loved this series, I've read the whole thing. You can't help but fall in love with Stryker and Erin. So glad they found each other. I can't wait f o r the next Stryker book!!!
One of the best survival series I have read. The journey of this group of survivors will keep you riveted a hard book to put down. Well done Bobby Andrews.......Bring on more Stryker
I've really enjoyed this series. Styker and Erin are great characters. This book definitely was headed to a great conclusion but just fell off. I would like to see more to this series. Oh to be like Stryker and think thru a scenario and come up with a plan.
