As souls begin to rack up in the underworld, more and more demons begin to pour over into our world. The Charmed ones begin to suspect that Djall is behind the gallery attack and decide to investigate to prove it. Can the find out what they need to or fall prey to the latest attack?
Erica Schultz is an American comic book writer, letterer, and editor. She is the first woman to write a Spawn comic, and is best known for her writing work at Marvel on titles like Daredevil, X-23, and Hallows' Eve.
I used to watch Charmed since I was a child, so when I saw that there was a graphic novel for the tv show, I had to pick it up.
The storyline seems to be what a typical episode features, which included the right doses of danger, sassiness, and the power of 3. So, I was happy with that aspect.
I didn't like the illustrations at all. I had a difficult time distinguishing who is who through out the entire comic. This was a huge turn off for me.
Now, I did say that the story had the correct dose of sassiness, but the kind of sassiness that belonged to each individual of the charmed ones was mixed up.
I received an eARC in exchange with an honest review.
Well, dang, but did that end in a major cliffhanger or what?! I’m going to keep this short and sweet because I need to be reading the next issue like now. My love for this story Ms. Schultz is telling just keeps growing with each new part I read! It’s compelling and I don’t know if nerve-wracking is too strong of a word, but it definitely does have me tense at moments wondering who’s a demon and what’s going to happen to the sisters. I do know they’re going to be okay in the end, but still, Ms. Schultz is putting me all up in my feels. This is such an excellent series so far and I’m sure it’s only going to go up from here!
I could be a lot easier to tell the characters apart, like if they didn't all have brown hair, Paige is a red head on the cover, but they don't differentiate well and times characters appear like they could be anyone. I may have liked it better if there weren't so many grammar issues in the writing itself. This is basically one episode, that they chose randomly to be in a comic book.
