-Hey Nicole, did you just skip all the 48 volumes?
-Well, you know, even though the anime isn't the best I still hate cliffhangers, but i can't deny it was enjoyable with all its uncountable flaws, and I couldn't wait till Fairy Tail Zero ends... I tried... BUT I'm going to read them sooner or later.

Fairy Tail can be a bit of an up-and-down series, but when it is on, it is on. And this book, this one was on - there's emotional scenes and the culminations of some long-standing plots and desires. And at the heart of it all, as is always the case in this series, is the bond between friends.

The dragons have come from where they were hiding, fighting against Face and Achnologia. With Face shut down, that leaves just the one terror in the skies - well, until Zeref saunters in with his typical give-no-craps attitude. If you've been following along with the series (and I cannot imagine this being a worthwhile read if you don't have the background of the last few volumes), you know Gray's dad asked him to destroy End, and he finally has the book in his hand. But this isn't the last volume of the series, so not everything works out tidily. Still, there's enough to put an emotional cap on the most current arc.

And then, timeskip.

Timeskips seem to be all over major manga series, but I really enjoyed this one. It makes sense - give the characters time to explore their own strengths and pick a direction for their lives not bound by the guild. I particularly love what Lucy spends her year doing. It's wonderful to see some particular dreams of hers realized, but at the same time it's even sweeter to see the close regard for her old guildmates that she holds in her heart. Lucy really is the emotional center of this story at times, and her faith is truly sweet.

This is a great book, and it's setting up a fantastic, travel-intensive next arc with plenty of new things to learn about all our favorite characters. :)

This volume starts off with Chapter 413: The Book of END.

Oh praise be to Yevvon! The dragons are back, and I'm so glad that this Arc is over with. I just haven't enjoyed the villians this go around.

I'll write more when my editing mode hits.
Happy Readings!

The end of the arc was actually really good. The filler was pointless.

Then it randomly jumps like a YEAR time frame to the new arc. What??

Igneeeeeeeeeeeeeel!!! 🐲🐲🐲🐲🐲🐲 Oh my goodness! The last part was soooo shocking! Only one arm...but Igneel and other dragons played an important role. I want Igneel to sleep with relief. So sad! Too sad!

AHHHH All the feels!!!
I've finally reached the final arc! I am so hyped; I can't even explain.
Yes, the third season is coming out in the fall, but if you think I want to be stuck at a cliffhanger every week over my beautiful babies dying or something idk, you are heavily mistaken.

The dragons are all so beautiful, even Acnologia honestly. Mishima-san is a boss at drawing these majestic creatures. RIP Igneel.
Zeref keeps popping up all over the place, like, can we just find out what his deal is already??? He's one of my favorite characters; I'm dying to know more about his past!
I remember slapping myself in the face when I watched the anime and first found out that Natsu was END. It's actually really obvious when you think about it.
Gray and Juvia are growing on me. I never used to ship them--Juvia has always annoyed me--but she's really starting to show a different, sincere side to her character.
The Gildarts and Natsu chapter was so cute; after a while, you can just kinda tell what characters would say to each other without needing words.

And JERZA OMG OMG I CANT.
"Keep on the path of light, Erza." AHHH He is so amazing!!! I love these two just a little too much;)
If they don't get together and/or kiss by the end of this series, I actually think I am going to throw a chair across the room in a fiery tantrum. We've waited WAY too long for it NOT to happen.

This new arc of reconvening with the guild is probably going to expand this world even further; I can't express my excitement more than I have already!

ENG
My opinion (without spoilers) concerning volumes 46 to 55.
I must admit that I really liked what happens in these volumes. Certain passages/moments surprised me, and it feels good !
We have a certain maturity that has set in, the characters have grown, it's felt and it feels good. And all this, without losing their personality, it should be noted.
I'm on the home stretch, I don't have many books left. I'm excited and stressed at the same time !

Coming to the end of what the dragons’ mission for returning was, we see the connections our dragon slayers have had with their mentors even when they were “so far away.” But what happens next is something you would never see coming and it truly shapes the entire future of fairy tail whether that be for better or worse.

This volume crushed me in so many ways and I was not prepared. The first part of this was pretty much god tier for me but then the start of the next arc really confused me and I have really mixed feelings on it. Fingers crossed I gain more confidence in it since it’s what brought this down to a 4 star for me.

The Battle is over...but there is a high level of casualties. Some are physical and some are internal...but wounds that are deep exist...and the ultimate sacrifice was given so that so many more could live. The aftermath is a moment of quiet around Fairy Tail but not necessarily the fun light-hearted times they usually have. This is a somber issue, at least I felt so. Some of the best pages were simply pages of adventures without words...they were precious. This was an issue that weighs heavy on my mind as a turning point indeed. Great stuff! I don't want to say too much as this is a spoiler volume for sure!

The reason I’ve give this a lower rating then the previous volumes is because of the ending with the dismemberment of fairy tail. I mean I really did like this volume especially getting to finally see Igneel and find out what happened. But the ending, really? I know this has kind of been done before like with the 7 year time skip and understand it’s to help the next arc of the story but just throwing it out there I am not a fan of the way it goes about it. Just building up fairy tail to then have it go back to square one again and repeat

4.5/5 The real conclusion to the Tartaros Arc. It wraps up rather nicely. We learn the fate of the dragons and a couple of other twists about END. And then :gasp: Fairy Tail disbands and we get another time leap. Only a year this time.

Lucy is now a reporter in the city trying to keep track of the locations of her former guild mates. Then we’re jumping into a new arc or mini arc involving Natsu returning from a year of training finding the guild disbanding and going out to gather them all up again.

Igneel and Natsu on the cover of volume 49.

I've read up to volume;
54#: with an overall rating of: ★★☆☆☆
2.5

the story is fun, but it feels like it's running longer han it should. the battle against the demons felt pretty much like a final arc, but we got yet another time skip and another group of enemies, who do feel like an actual adversary , but it's getting repetitive

I hate that the story is not so surprising for me. I have high expectations on fairy tail because of rave. :(

And the split scene is also feels like copying one piece which OP won hands down.

The ending of that arc was mostly sad, but with some good twists. Finding out what everyone has been up to after the time skip should be interesting though.
