A wonderful book of how God can take someone from a horrible situation and completely change not only that person but be a part of His plan to reach the world through Bible translation! Blessed to know the author and his wife, Roy & Rita Peterson, and know how beautiful and genuine their hearts are serving the Lord and the people all over the earth! One of the quotes Peterson uses is from Mark Twain and I wanted to emphasize how true this is, whether traveling for pleasure or working in missions or Bible translation. "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all of one's lifetime." Wherever the Lord has you - in one place or traveling, love others and share the Good News of the Gospel!
A combination of personal autobiography/testimony and exposure to the "Bible movement" to bring Scripture into the "heart language" of every language group. I found the book very engaging and instructive. It is encouraging to learn how much success is being achieved in this aspect of Christian missions.
Thank you for opening your heart and telling your story. To God, be the glory.
If God can use a young man in a Mexican jail to become the president of three Christian based world wide organizations, He can use anyone if they are willing to do His will. God bless Roy and Rita and their family.
