Eos Dawn #2

Fortitude

Rate this book
Eos and Zane agreed that, after finding the Skeleton Key, they would seek out the rumored city of free exiles: Fortitude. When the two venture through the New Territory and beyond its borders, they encounter more terrifying elements of the exile town system than they ever thought possible

Seeking out the city with the purple light, Eos and Zane recruit escaped exiles who join them as they encounter dangerous exiles, familiar faces, and careless partygoers. Armed with a couple of daggers and a device that can unlock anything, Eos and friends search for freedom only a place like Fortitude can offer. In the eyes of the exiles, Fortitude symbolizes freedom and hope; however, it turns out that Fortitude is hiding some dark secrets of its own.

Join Eos on her journey for freedom in Fortitude, the second installment in the Eos Dawn Series, written by Jen Guberman.

For a math major that has never been fond of reading....(I'm sorry former literature teachers from high school and college)... I have really enjoyed reading, Fortitude!!! I have not finished it yet, but I just want to say that this is an awesome read! Normally, I get very bored when reading and usually fall asleep just after a couple of pages. However, the first night that I started reading Fortitude, I did not put it down, even after nearly 3 chapters! That is profound for me!*!*!* My mother was a speed reader and could read books, really large books, in just one or two nights. I am so envious of people that can do that. This series is definitely one that you will want to read again and again. I purchased the first book in the series, Eos, for a family friend that is an avid reader, and she is 89 years old. She stayed up until 4:30a.m. just to finish the book. She said it was, "too good to put down". She feels even stronger about the second book in the series Fortitude. Mrs. Cooke has already read it cover to cover twice, and she is begging for me to buy her the third and final book in the trilogy series. That 89 year old woman truly knows a great book when she reads it. Mrs. Cooke says to me, "You know, she needs to hurry up and write the third book. I am not getting any younger!" It truly is a great series, when both young (teens and twenty somethings) and senior citizens alike, can't wait for the next book in your series to be published. Keep up the great work Jen Guberman and thanks for writing something that I was more than happy to purchase 10+ copies just to use as gifts. Each person that we gave your book to has truly enjoyed reading it just like Mrs. Marion Cooke (the 89 year old mentioned above).

I read her first book, Eos and I thought it was amazing. I don't even like reading, but I loved her books. I found out she was doing a second book and I had to read it. It beyond exceeded my expectations. Eos was great, but Fortitude is an action packed emotional roller coaster that will shake you to the core. This book is intense in the best of ways, and the plot line is a serious nail biter. People, you don't want to read Fortitude; you need to read Fortitude. It will blow you away. This book is a masterpiece entwined with action, romance, fictional realism, drama, comedy, and the full spectrum of writing; which makes this book great for all kinds of readers. This book, in fact the series itself, is literary gold.

An excellent follow up to the first installment in the series. Fast paced and exciting new/old characters. Filled with twists and turns and suspense. Looking forward to the next/last book in the series.

My only issue with the second book was the cast of characters was so large and I kept forgetting which exile town each person was from. But I bookmarked that page and was able to go back to it any time I needed it. Problem solved!

Really enjoyed this! I'm a huge fan of Young Adult Dystopian novels (Hunger Games, Legend, Divergent etc..) and this perfectly satiated my craving for this genre! I took a chance with Jen when I purchased Eos meeting her for the first time at the Carolina Renaissance Fair. I though the ending wrapped things up perfectly and was a very inspiring trilogy. Highly recommend!

I do not stand for this oppression. My brothers and sisters in both color and sexuality do not stand for this oppression.

Another excellent read!

This book was better than the 1st one I think! A few Awwwww moments, and some tears on my part. I feel so bad for Eos and her friends.

Fortitude is a great book. Second in the series, this one continues to follow the life and adventures of Eos Dawn. More characters are introduced and some originals are still around. There is adventure, suspense, and even a little romance. I got so caught up reading this that it was hard to put down. So I didn’t! I give it 5 stars. It is well written, the characters are varied and believable, the situations they get into are heart pounding and I can’t wait to read the next one!
