Loved this one! So fun to get one more book with Zachary and Molly. I loved these characters in Saints & Spies and this one was even better.
When the book starts, we realized that Molly and Zachary broke up some months ago, but they're thrown back together working for an FBI case. They had to go through quite a bit, both personally and professionally, before they ended up together. The Irish and Chicago settings is great.
I'd love to see another book with these two working together and adjusting to married life.
SAINTS & SUSPECTS is another highly enjoyable read from this author with a mix of slowly building romance and suspense! Recommended to those who enjoy light romantic suspense, inspirational romantic suspense, and LDS romantic suspense.
I fell in love with these characters in the first book, so I was ready to find out what happened next in their story. Having read the first book definitely added to my enjoyment of this second one, but I would say that it wasn't necessary. You could pick up this book and follow the story just fine.
This was such a fun read! I was in part frustrated with Zach for him not seeing what Molly needed, which wasn't someone who wanted to protect her, but someone who would believe in her and the job she needed to do. Although, it was really sweet and rather charming how much Zach didn't want Molly in harm's way. I also enjoyed the chemistry between these two. A little hot and cold, but it fit the situation as they tried to figure things out.
The suspense aspect of the story was fairly slow. I did think it could have used a little more intensity or sped up slightly. Otherwise, it felt very plausible and I didn't feel anything didn't make sense. All the characters acted consistently and how I thought they would, which I have found to be an issue for me in some other suspense books. The story was very believable.
In the end, was it what I wished for? I really enjoyed this one! As I said, I already loved these characters and it was fun to see where they are a year or so after the first book. I'm excited for the next book to see what will happen next!
Content: Some violence, but clean. Source: I received a complimentary copy from the author and purchased my own copy, which did not require a review nor affect it in any way.
I didn’t read the synopsis of the book before I read it, so it really threw me when I found out Molly and Zach had broken up. I knew, logically, that they would get back together by the end of the book, but it took me a bit to get over their break up. And yes, I do know they’re fictional characters. :) They are such great people! I did enjoy watching them realize they still loved each other and get together again. And the chemistry between them was definitely still there! Wow!
The book is very well written! I was drawn in and wanted to keep reading. I liked seeing Molly as an FBI agent and using her Irish roots to get close to the target. It was fun to see her work with Zach, the good and the bad. It was interesting to read from the terrorist’s viewpoint. That was a unique twist and really added to the story.
This is another great book in the series! I’m really looking forward to book three!
I received a copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.
It was lovely to revisit the characters from book one of this series, and it was so easy to fall back into their story. As always, the plot felt authentic and built to a dramatic conclusion. I hope there is at least one more book in this series so I can find out what happens to Lucy and Paul.
I didn't read this book when it first came out, so when book 3 came out, I had to get caught up. Wow! I loved this story. Molly's past is catching up to her—both her past in Ireland and her romantic past with Zach. She and Zach are no longer together at the beginning of the book, but they are both working cases in the same town and bump into each other. They then must work together, pretending to be engaged.
The different perspectives and characters twist and wind around each other keeping it interesting and surprising as Zach and Molly try to stop a bombing.
There is some violence, but it's not too gross. The romance is light, no sex. I really liked this story.
Another great book from Ms. McCollum. The plot moved along pretty quickly as the heroes try to save the day. I love the addition of the Irish that was used. I did feel a little bogged down by the relationship struggles between Molly and Zach as I tried to figure out why they broke up in the first place, but don't we all feel that way when it comes to making relationships work out. Can't wait for book 3!
I was taken aback when I started this because I thought the last one last had left us with a happily-ever-after for Zach and Molly just to find out that in this one they’d beg broken up for six months. Obviously I didn’t read the trailer. One I accepted that, it was an enjoyable read. The third one better not have them broken up again, though!
It's been years since I read the first book in this series so I was a bit lost at times trying to remember details, but Saints & Suspects was a very enjoyable book. It was suspenseful and had a romance you just wanted to happen. There were quite a few typos (I had an advanced copy that probably didn't have final edits done yet) and Irish words and phrases that I was not familiar with, so it was a bit jarring when those came around, but the Irish words and phrases were also fun.
I liked the premise of this story: an ex-couple had to pretend to be engaged for their cover story. It kept things very interesting. And, I'm also a fan of spy stories, so it was great following Molly and Zachary as they tried to solve their cases while protecting their country, their families, and their hearts.
I am looking forward to going back and re-reading Saints & Spies.
I loved this book! It is so engaging and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved seeing the characters from Saints and Spies again and lived the character development. There are some faith themes, but they only add to the story. Definitely will be recommending this and reading it again!
