About the author

Wayne Mack lives in Pretoria, South Africa, where he serves as a pastor-elder with his son-in-law and teaches biblical counseling at Strengthening Ministries Training Institute to pastors and aspiring pastors in the region. He also spends about six weeks in the USA teaching at various churches. He and his wife, Carol, have four adult children and numerous grandchildren.

Read this book together as a family and do the homework at the end of each chapter. I guarantee it will benefit your family in a thousand ways. Do it now, while your family is young.

Written in 1991 this book is a bit of a relic. It so happens though that I really enjoy lists. And Mack utilized several lists of key points. Family communication was the nail that was hammered the most frequently. These points were clear and creative and very practical. This was the greatest area of value for me personally. I wish more lists had been incorporated in the presentation of the content because I would have rated this book higher.

An excellent book that is very helpful in the area of communication within marriages and the family. I highly recommend this resource and believe that anyone who takes the biblical principles from within and faithfully applies them, he will find a joyful, rich, and growing relationship, whether that be in his marriage, with his kids, or others. Dr. Mack has also included very helpful homework at the end of each chapter that can be effectively used to provoke evaluation and discussion. Great resource.

One of the best books ever one shaping a Christian family. Practical and helpful as you seek to build a family on Christ/God as the foundation. So many things fall into their proper place when you have a deep grasp & understanding of the ways that God desires us to be in our home/family.
