The Legend of Zelda: A Sword in the Time of Guns: Vol. 1

Rate this book
In this modern, dominating story, teenage foster-kid-turned-unwilling-adult Link sees literally nothing redeeming in himself or his future until he is pulled into an insane, staggering new life of power and duty. As he struggles to rectify his damning past with an opportunity to reclaim his future, Link finds that the world around him is sometimes just the surface of what really exists. - This book may have content unsuitable for some sensitive readers. I did not want to put it down.. I love the game..i have played since I was a kid and now reading a book about it is pretty freakin cool! I'd love to hang out with the king for a day he seems pretty fun! I definitely need to get the next book asap. It seems like it's gonna get pretty adventurous!

Lincoln leaves his foster home on his 18th birthday and chooses a new nickname, Link. He bumps into a girl named Zelda who takes him to see her father who explains the prophecy. I feel most of the book is just explaining the usual Zelda lore, so it's not exactly original work. Then the modernising is just "there's a high school, cafés, and cars". The main story is going to be in the volumes that follow, but does this opening make you intrigued to carry on reading? No.
