I've got three months to prove to her this fake relationship is real...

As the Seattle Sharks number one Enforcer, nothing means more to me than hockey. I live and breathe the game.

But when my short-temper gets me into one too many late night brawls, Coach threatens to bench me if I don’t clean up my act. It’ll take more than me changing my nightlife—the media needs this bad boy to go good.

Paige Turner—the gorgeous, off-limits best friend of my bro’s fiancée—has the solution.

About to take over as acting CEO of her family’s multi-billion-dollar corporation, she’ll have to sign a morality clause basically kissing any wild-life she wanted goodbye. Her proposition?

I, Rory Jackson—the panty dropper and bed hopper of the Sharks—give her an exclusive relationship for three entire months. Her wholesome image will only brighten my dark one in the press’ eyes, and I can help her check off some wicked naughty tasks on her very specific dirty-girl bucket list.

If I screw up and get arrested again, she’ll lose everything she’s worked her entire life for, but what terrifies me most? At the end of the three months, I won’t want to let her go, and with that morality clause—she can't keep me.

ENFORCER is a standalone hockey romance with a friends-to-lovers fake relationship and a HEA.

5 the Corporate Princess & the Bad Boy Stars.

Paige Turner (God how I love that name) is soon to take over as President of Cranbaby. She is then to lead a life that is wholesome and that will never taint her perfect image. She has three months to lead the life that she wants before she signs a morality clause.

Paige suggests a contract to her sex bucket list #7.

Rory Jackson Enforcer for the Seattle Sharks has a public image problem. Slight anger management issues lead him to one to many bar brawls and a strike 17. He needs to clean his act up or else. Rory beneath his I don’t give shit exterior is a good guy and he deserves happiness. He’s worth more and he needs to see it.

The expectations that her father puts on her are unbelievable and I am surprised she lasted as long as he did. Her father is a real piece of work. Paige is prepared to walk away from it all for Rory. What bothered me is that Rory played the martyr I hate it when that happens one of my pet peeves but here it wasn’t as irritating as it usually is. IMO at least.

I loved this book although the trope usually isn’t for me it worked this time. We get to see Gage and Bailey from book 1 and secondary characters who are hopefully going to get their own books. There is some angst to the book where I was hoping that the deets for the contract wouldn’t get out but it was a former puck bunny who decided to stick her oar in.

Ms. Whiskey was a surprise read for me in 2016 with her book Grinder. So, when offered the chance at an ARC who would say no? Certainly, not Moi.

My verdict:
A slap happy book with a lot of funny, sweet, sexy and downright filthy moments. That has you wanting more. I read Enforcer in one sitting and would reread it for sure. Boisterous with a touch of vulnerability as well as being adorable.

Fake relationship to more.

A good fake relationship, that doesn’t stay fake for very long. Paige and Rory plan to be friends with benefits while faking a relationship to clean up Rory’s bad boy image, but things don’t work out how they plan. They fall hard, but other things get in their way of making things work. All in all a good read, but nothing really new. But if you’re looking for an easy sports romance read with a touch of angst, then this is a good one.

What can I say? They were cute. Not a fan of the unplanned pregnancy, especially it being the deciding factor in Rory getting his head outta his ass but it's whatever. They're cute lol

Can I start a petition to end the third act/breakup act please?!?!?!!!

I was enjoying this but as expected 70-80% in drama ensues and unfolds so the couple breaks up. AUTHORS NEED TO STOP DOING THIS FFS.

I liked Paige as a fmc but didn’t really connect and like Rory all that much. He didn’t even do much grovelling after the 80% to win her back, so I’m disappointed.

Like the first book in the series this one was a short and quit fun ice hockey romance. Again this is no five star read but definitely entertaining for an afternoon.
I liked the tension between Paige and Rory and their opposites. They fit well as a couple and I liked that Paige is an independent and kinda powerful woman.
I‘m a fan of connected standalones and I will definitely continue reading this series.

Impressed I got through it

I am so tired of the word wholesome after this book. It seriously felt like it was on every other page! I get upholding your image but seriously I was tired of it all after the first couple chapters.
And I was really over how prude she was early on. Her bouncing back from I want him bad to but what will others think just got old. Who gives a fuck. Well obviously she did but still. Pick one or the other cuz both just drives me mad. I didn’t like how she blamed him for making her feel and forget and let go.
And holy hell Paige referring to that stupid contract got old real fast too. Her constant “is it because of the contract” instead of just taking his words at face value drove me crazy. If your that curious just ask and get it over with stop all this internal shit just so you can judge him and make him seem like the player you want him to be. I was so tired of how she thought she was so much better then him and how he was pretty much only good for sex and everything else he did was this astounding surprise to her. Did she not pay attention at all when they were together at things before all this or is she just that dense and self centered.
I did like Rory and how hard he tried to be better for her and how he sacrificed for her.

The half star is because I don't know why I keep reading these books knowing they irk me. Rory and Paige, lots of banging, not much relationship. The only time you see them together is for sex, there is no relationship conversations, just thoughts in their own heads. He has anger issues, tells her he didn't want a drink, she gives him three then is upset his anger gets the best of him. WTF?? I hate surprise baby stories and I think that's what this series is based on. Babies don't fix everything.
Didn't believe their love.
But, won't stop me from reading the next in the series.

Also, ladies, CONDOMS ARE YOUR FRIENDS

This is the 3rd book I’ve read for my #sportsromancereadathon hosted with @_readingwithfriends_ and I loved it! Plus a lot of the group did too which is so good!

Firstly there was the steam 🔥 Rory and Paige had serious chemistry and they combusted together and I loved that 💥💥

I love a renowned bad boy/player becoming a one woman kind of man with a heart of gold and watching Rory go through that change was great!

This book was fun, packed a punch (literally), and read super quick. I devoured it in one day.

I always love seeing tidbits of the background characters too and the huge family that the hockey teams become to each other always warms my heart.

Can’t wait for the next book!

Trope:
Player to Prince
Relationship of Convenience

Steam:

Paige and Rory will set your pages on fire!!! This coupling is very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed reading every single minute of their story. Paige(or”Red” as Rory calls her) is the bomb!! And he is no slouch either!! ;) Together they are a force to be reckoned with!!

Their relationship starts of as a little fun, but quickly turns into so much more. I did enjoy how both characters realize what’s happening and embrace it fully. That’s refreshing because so many stories have way too much angst. That gets to be very exhausting for me as the reader. Sometimes we just need the fluffy stuff. Or at least I do.

I’m very glad I picked up this series to read. I’m looking forward to seeing more of these characters as the series continues. It was really great seeing more of Gage and Bailey too!! Now.....we get to learn more about Jeannine and Warren in the next book. I’m already smiling cuz if they are anything like Gage and Bailey or Red and Rory....I’m all in!!!

I wasn't sure about this one as it started out, not sure that I could buy these 2 as a couple, even in a fake relationship, but it worked. They took the time to get to know each other amid all the sex. That is why Rory was able to hurt Paige so much at the end, he thought by pushing her away he wouldn't cost her everything. Instead he lost it all, plus something he never knew about.

I really liked how Paige stood up to her dad and how she calmly explained that his actions had consequences, as did her own. I liked that Paige tried to tell Rory the big news, but hated the result. How Rory did find out and what he did after was perfect! It let Paige know how important she was to him and let her be the one to make a move, if she could move past that hurt. The ending was great, loved that both of these two got to have their dreams and live their own HEA.

Does nobody in this series know how to use a condom??

They’re decent books, the characters are compelling, and I really liked Paige’s relationship with her dad, but I have to wonder if the author knows there are other ways to create tension and drama besides heavily foreshadowed unplanned pregnancies.

Also nobody is paying 8 million a year for an enforcer, especially one they aren’t sure about resigning. That’s superstar money. It’s petty but it really pulled me out of the story to angrily google contract details.

ETA: Reading the blurb of book 3 and some quick keyword searching of book 4 tells me that no, she doesn’t know any other plot lines and no, I will not be finishing this series.

Very close to a 4 star for me, but a few things just irritated me. Paige’s father and the antiquated morality clause were the biggest issues. I won’t say the other because it’s a spoiler and it happens near the end of the book. I did enjoy Rory and Paige together and will read more of this series.

🌶️ yes spice there is like a checklist

paige is on her way of becoming CEO of her family’s multibillion dollar company. she wants to complete her ✨ spicy ✨ bucket list before stepping up, and wants to check off number 7 which is to bone rory jackson, known bad boy, and familiar with all puck bunnies. she decides to write up a 3 month contract between the two of them to fix up his reputation and so she can have a lil fun before she can’t 😫 and u know what goes wrong with a lil fake dating

— thoughts/spoilers

one film star to the name paige turner lmao

ok so, i actually liked this one more than the first one. but like again, it wasn’t amazing and i caught myself being like wait didn’t this happen in the first book?? or did it happen in axel?? lmao

anyways, a super short book and quick plot - it’s easy to read and it fuels … something to have me finish it and still looking to read the rest of the series…. maybe

maybe bc i feel like all of her books follow the same formula??? like bad boy hockey player turn prince and goo bc of his girl lols

lastly, petition to stop third act breakups like huuuuuuuuh

also wtf with rory for like ONLY wanting to grovel when he found out she was pregnant?? also unplanned pregnancy like this … nah. i feel like both parties should’ve communicated and talked more, like dig a lil deeper?? but i guess it’s not that type of book ja feel

3.5 stars rounded down.

Better than the first book in the series, but nothing to write home about. I could see the surprise pregnancy coming from a million miles away, and “we need to break up because you deserve better than me!” is one of my least favorite 80% crises. The whole purity morality thing with the heroine’s company didn’t feel justified, and it could have used more hockey content.

That being said, I liked our hero — his anger issues were better than in most books like this. I liked the framing device of the Naughty Girl List. The sex scenes weren’t extraordinarily hot, but they weren’t half bad.

I’m still struggling to find an MF hockey series that I really love, and this is not it. Doubt I’ll keep reading, but you never know. My quest continues...

4-4.5 Stars SPOILERS AHEAD!

I have loved this series and all the characters so far:) . LOVED Rory and Paige. They had a super connection and I loved pretty much all of it! My only issues were very minor but I had wished he HAD done MORE of the chasing and maybe wished the storyline had played out a bit "more", seemed everything got tied up too quickly albeit it was good but would have liked a tiny bit more too:)

Queen of hockey romance

Samantha Whiskey is easily the most underrated sports romance author.

If I’m in the mood for a hockey romance ( and let’s be honest, that’s literally ALWAYS), then I go through Samanthas Seattle Sharks and Carolina Reapers series.

Each book is filled with just enough sports reference, humor, love, and ohhhoh so much heat.

Huge spoiler incoming...

I. HATE. Pregnancy/baby trope books. With a passion!!!!!!!!
Ugh.

Anyways, I still really loved this book because of the chemistry between Paige and Rory!!!! It was hot and fun and to be quite honest, the kind of relationship that I’d want. 😂 So I’m rating my love for this book purely on their relationship because I ADORE them! The pregnancy trope at the end made me roll my eyes because I HATE when it’s thrown in. This is the second book in this series and there’s already been 2 goddamn pregnancies. And reading the synopsis of the third... THERE IS ANOTHER ONE. What the actual fuck??? Can they stop please?😂 I really hope that not all 9 books in this series are pregnancy tropes because I’m so over it.

This was not bad in any way, I liked it, but I think it would've benefitted from 50 to a 100 pages more, as it is, it felt like the development was more tell than show.. but still, not a bad read!

Book 2 of the Seattle Sharks was just as good as the first! This story is about Rory, playboy of the Sharks and Paige, who is set to take over her father's company. They enter into a 3 month contract together and of course falling in love is inevitable!
Spice was about the same level as book 1, and Samantha succeeded again in packing a good story into a short 200 pages.
Can't wait to read book 3!

This book had me scratching my head and wracking my brain trying to figure out if I knew the two MCs Paige and Rory. For the life of me I couldn't remember them from the first book Grinder and the way the book started you feel as if you should know these characters pretty well. And despite the length of the book, things went really quickly. Somehow the upstanding, goody two shoes Paige Turner goes from wanting just one hot night stand into offering a three month arrangement to the one of hockey's bad boys. For me, there was a lack of a build-up. Development. Paige, for all her good intentions and smarts, allowed her father to manipulate her. Her father was the worst for me. Passive aggressive. Giving praise in the form of criticism. Rory is the quintessential bad boy. He also happens to have an issue with anger. Quick temper which results in fights. His image is not wholesome by any stretch of the imagination. So the two of the them together shouldn't be a possibility but Paige wants to have one thing to herself before taking over her family's company. A deal is struck. A list of dirty-girl fantasies is used as enticement and so the story goes. Not the greatest and I was expecting more but it was enough to keep me want to see how things panned out.
