I've never messed around with a guy before. Not that I haven't been attracted to guys. The opportunity just never came up.
I stand at the front door, naked. I don't want her to have to stay with our parents, who I've avoided since I left for college--don't get me started.
Scott volunteers to work on the project too, which gives us plenty of time to have a little fun together. It's supposed to be about fixing up the house, but the more time I spend with him, the more I realize it's not the only fixer upper Scott's working on. He's doing something to me--making me better. And even though I'm heading back home when this is all over, I don't want it to end. Because I'm falling for Scott...so hard.

I need to accept that McCormack's books aren't for me. Some authors can pull off the present-tense, first-person POV, but it doesn't work in his books at all. It's the textual equivalent of recording your day while running with a cheap hand-held camcorder.
The narrative voices are interchangeable. All his characters sound like stoner bro dudes.
The interactions between Mikey and Scott were shallow and artificial, and the family drama didn't fit the story, which is otherwise a sexfest and ode to Mikey's muscles and Scott's hair.
I skimmed quite a bit because I couldn't even.
Also, just say NO to the poor editing and graphic M/F scene on the first page of the book. WHY? It was utterly gratuitous.
An extra star for the dirty sex and HEA.

This was so much fun!
Two great likable characters. A lot of hot sexy times. Decent story-line. Some likable side characters. Kind of GFY. One geeky guy hooking up with a hunky muscly guy. What more could you want in a MM book?
This was one of those reads were your so involved with the book that your surroundings get blocked out and nothing else exists but the story your reading. That was how it was for me at least. It was non-put-downable. These guys were just so much fun. Their banter. The easiness of their relationship. The chemistry and the way the connected totally drew me in and I didn't want to leave. I felt like I was right there beside them going along for the ride.
Both men are struggling in their relationships with their parents/parent and in each other they find the strength to stand up for themselves and confront their issues they are having with said parents. They heal each other along the way and it's a beautiful thing my dolls.
It's a very family oriented story too dealing with family drama. Who doesn't have some of that in their lives, right?
Scott is in constant battle with his siblings and his father over his job. He is computer graphic designer and his siblings all have very high paying jobs while his is just paying the bills. But he loves his job and enjoys what he does and he believes as long as he is happy doing what he does they should accept it. But his dad is constantly on him about job opportunities and how his current job won't secure his future. It leaves Scott feeling insecure and filled with dread every time he goes to his father's home for family dinners.
Mikey's dilemma is quite different from Scott's. He doesn't want anything to do with his parents and loathes having to see them. When he was younger his father cheated and poor Mikey found the evidence. Before he could speak up his fathered cornered him and pretty much threatened him and told him if he spoke of it to his mother she would take him and his siblings away and they would be homeless and he would basically ruin their family. Quite the father right? Well his mother was't any better. Literally sick over keeping the secret he caves and tells his mom only for her to accuse him of lying. So he holds some pretty strong anger towards his parents and it's justified.
Both men connect on their family troubles and on so much more. It really was a sweet read that included some family drama. Sometimes Mikey's family drama seemed a bit OTT, but besides that I have no complaints.

Enjoyed this read - glad Scott & Mikey found common ground and happiness as they moved forward. They had great chemistry and the "nerdy graphic artist" falling for the "alpha built engineer/ handyman " was actually cute. I really liked the moments with Jordan & Kate but felt the drama with Mikey's parents was really unnecessary- it just didn't fit for me. Just a nice easy low angst read

It was a really cute story. There was something almost Christmas-y about it, even though it isn’t set at Christmas time.
Lately, I am getting more and more tired of gay-for-you trope and avoiding such books. Even though the synopsis showed that it would be just such a story, I decided to give it a chance. And I'm so glad I did. I liked that Mikey knew from the beginning that he is bisexual, so he wasn’t surprised at all that he is interested in Scott. I also really liked how quickly he accepted that he might be in a relationship with a man. I've read too many books with characters having a problem with that lately, that has been one of the main sources of conflict in these stories, so I really appreciate that it was different in this book.
The main characters’ problems concern primarily their family relations. Both Mikey and Scott don't quite get along with their fathers. I like that it is one of the things that brings them closer together. And that they support each other all the time.
Mikey and Scott's relationship is growing fairly quickly. Although maybe not so much a relationship as their friendship. Because most of the time they are friends who have sex. I was a bit surprised by the number of sex scenes in this book. At times it really felt more like erotica than romance. But at least I had no doubts that the main characters wanted each other. Fortunately, it was also easy for me to believe that they also had other feelings for each other.
This is my first book by this author, I am curious about his other stories. Does Jordan have his own book?

DNF. I thought Scott was just too uptight and defensive to be likeable. Most importantly, Mikey's sexual attraction to Scott based only on his facial looks was weird and downright unbelievable.
For me, there were some little things that were "off". Mikey saying that he was pre-coming while having sex with Tara was stupid. Mikey never having anal het sex was unfathomable. Both guys not having lube and/or condoms was farfetched.

Not for me :(
This book is sex sex sex and family drama.
That´s it, we have some scenes between the MCs that in my opinion are hardly ever romantic . They speak two lines and start with the sex inmediately. I ended totally bored of them -_-
And then we also have this other storyline with the sister and fathers drama that didn´t fit with the tone of the MCs superficial interactions.
This book is sex sex sex and family drama.

I've been on a Devon McCormack kick lately. Starting with Between These Sheets a few weeks ago and then BFF and BFF Claimed a few days ago, to FU in the last 24 hours. I'd make a joke about his books being like a can of pringles--once you pop, you can't stop, but my dirty mind tells me it will probably come across the wrong way. So instead, I'll say how much I loved the lighter side in this book. Nothing too deep or angsty unlike first few books I read of his.
I have nothing but love for Mikey and Scott <3 <3 <3

Mixed bag of seriously scorching hot sex and slow burn romance
3.5* This is 100% a Devon McCormack novel, it oozes sex almost on every page, narrated with that Southern boy charm and humour he exhibits in his own life.
Mikey and Scott started off with just the scorching hot sex but as they began working on fixing up Mikey's sister's place, that chemistry slowly began to burn off into something much more deep and meaningful.
Personally I'm not sure the sub plot element which created the low level angst about Mikey's issues with his parents worked as well as it could have. Some of the scenes with his parents felt forced, dramatic for the sake of plotting rather than a smooth transition to explain why he had relationship issues.
Scott's relationship with his dad, in contrast, seemed more organic and was a good background for why he felt himself unattractive and lacking in confidence.
But, those issues aside, the slow burn extension of their relationship from f##k buddies to friends to eventual lovers and partners was very well done and the epilogue was all ends up awesome.
The cover gets the book 5* all in its own ;)

The guy in the cover of this book is hot as all get out. I give 5 stars to that cover because David Romano: yuuuummmm...
The book is just ok. Lots of editing issues and kind of a sweet story mixed with unnecessary family drama (Mikey's drama didn't work for me)

High on sexy times, with complex characters. High on sexy times. Like, HIGH on sexy times, without them becoming repetitive.

“Fixer Uppers: Ristrutturazioni” è un romanzo che rileggo spesso e ogni rilettura mi consente di comprendere ancor di più quanto questo libro sia molto più di un semplice divertimento erotico. Indubbiamente l’autore è maturato molto nelle opere successive (“Trouble” è un piccolo gioiello che consiglio vivamente di leggere) sia nello stile che nelle tematiche trattate, ma questo romanzo non è affatto da sottovalutare.
Devon con una scrittura schietta e immediata non ha solo mostrato la bollente passione tra Mikey e Scott, ma ha anche costruito una trama interessante con due protagonisti alle prese con un’evoluzione interiore non trascurabile.
Mikey, giovane ingegnere, ha sempre saputo di essere attratto sia dalle ragazze che dai ragazzi, ma se da un lato non gli mai mancata la compagnia femminile, dall’altro non ha mai avuto modo di sperimentare totalmente la sua sessualità. Scott, nerd esperto di grafica, amico e coinquilino di Jordan, fratello di Mikey, è gay e ha da pochi mesi rotto con il suo ragazzo Sam. Il suo carattere poco socievole, accompagnato da una continua sensazione di inadeguatezza, trasforma in uno scontro il primo incontro con Mikey, ospite nel loro appartamento per pochi giorni. In realtà Scott si sente immediatamente attratto da quel ragazzo così sfrontato e disinvolto, rimanendo sorpreso nel momento in cui realizza che l’attrazione è ricambiata.

Il reciproco incoraggiamento, i momenti divertenti, la condivisione del proprio mondo interiore e dei rispettivi desideri e sogni futuri, sono tutti elementi che aiutano i due ragazzi a crescere e ad affrontare di petto quei problemi che hanno sempre impedito loro di vivere serenamente.

[Nota a margine: ha ufficialmente inizio la mia era romance. Brace yourself]
Come sono incappato in questo libro? Praticamente a caso. Ricerca su Google "m/m romance written by men", apertura di pagina su Reddit, sorteggio randomico di un paio di nomi, ricerca in Kindle Unlimited degli stessi [perché sì, non ho intenzione di spendere soldi per un romance e Amazon mi ha dato un mese di prova gratuita. Shame on me per essermi piegato al capitalismo di Bezos].
Potevo scegliere meglio il romance con protagonisti due uomini gay? Sì, potevo.
Sostanzialmente, la trama è questa: due uomini (uno perfetto: con un lavoro da ingegnere che lo rende ricco ma anche bravissimo carpentiere [...], bono che più bono non si può, intelligente, con un animo sensibile però - citando l'autore - puttaniere e, soprattutto, poiché viene rimarcato più volte, con un pisello enorme; l'altro perfetto, ma non lo sa e si piange addosso sui suoi addominali scolpiti: bono e "carinissimo", con un lavoro più instabile ma che gli ha permesso di sfruttare il suo estro artistico - che, ovviamente, lo farà diventare ricchissimo -, patatino un po' scontroso ma solo per le prime tre facciate, team #relazioniserie che però va con il suddetto puttaniere la prima volta che lo incrocia, fisico che progressivamente diventa più tonico e muscolo, sadly dotato di pene più piccolo [anche se ovviamente sopra la media], capace di apprendere un lavoro manuale praticamente per osmosi) si innamorano perdutamente, mentre ristrutturano la casa della sorella di uno - permettendole di rifarsi una vita - e risolvono il rispettivo problema che ognuno dei due ha con la propria famiglia.
Tutto ciò occupa lo spazio di massimo cinque degli oltre quaranta capitoli: il resto è un'uscita in un bar con compare, due cene a casa dei genitori di ognuno, un appuntamento di coppia che non lo è davvero perché sono confusi (?) e una marea di trombate tutte uguali.
Sostanzialmente tutto è piatto - quando non è duro, pun intended - fino all'improvvisa svolta finale. Lo sviluppo della trama coincide, in una inconsapevole metafora bislacca della vita, con l'unica vera innovazione nella vita intima di queste due macchine del sesso: il top decide di stare sotto.
Perché, fuori da questo libro, la vita va così: se le cose ti sembrano finalmente andare per il verso giusto, stai per prenderla nel culo.
Nel romance no: tutto si risolve e i due vivranno per sempre felici e contenti. E con una vita piena di scopate che, e qui sta la vera irrealtà, nonostante le dimensioni spropositate, non sempre necessitano di lubrificante. Basta "un po' di saliva e tanto amore". [Ho provato un brivido di schifo riportando quella citazione]
Posto che non c'è davvero un approfondimento della personalità dei due narratori, il meglio del peggio emerge grazie ai dialoghi irreali che riempiono le pagine. Cose che nessuno direbbe mai, neppure fosse l'attore strapagato della più infima soup opera. Più volte mi sono sganasciato dalle risate: non penso fosse l'intento dell'autore, ma io lo ringrazio lo stesso.
L'ho trovato pieno di aspetti tossici: oltre agli stereotipi sulle relazioni sentimentali - che va beh -, c'è tutta una narrazione rivoltante sul successo e sui soldi e sul fatto che la felicità risieda nel riuscire a diventare ricchi dedicandosi completamente al lavoro ['sti due stronzi ristrutturano una casa, lavorandoci anche 10 ore al giorno, continuando a fare il proprio mestiere in remoto (altre 8 ore?), svegliandosi alle tre del mattino per farlo e scopando come ricci nel tempo libero (quale, chi lo sa, ma probabilmente il problema è mio, che sono stanco solo a pensarci)].
Lo stile potrebbe essere aberrante, ma non mi sento di giudicarlo: la traduzione, quella sì, è fatta con google translate (dall'inglese al mandarino e dal mandarino ad una strana approssimazione di italiano).
Insomma, questo romance è stato tutto un brivido.

Come sono incappato in questo libro? Praticamente a caso. Ricerca su Google "m/m romance written by men", apertura di pagina su Reddit, sorteggio randomico di un paio di nomi, ricerca in Kindle Unlimited degli stessi [perché sì, non ho intenzione di spendere soldi per un romance e Amazon mi ha dato un mese di prova gratuita. Shame on me per essermi piegato al capitalismo di Bezos].
Potevo scegliere meglio il romance con protagonisti due uomini gay? Sì, potevo.
Sostanzialmente, la trama è questa: due uomini (uno perfetto: con un lavoro da ingegnere che lo rende ricco ma anche bravissimo carpentiere [...], bono che più bono non si può, intelligente, con un animo sensibile però - citando l'autore - puttaniere e, soprattutto, poiché viene rimarcato più volte, con un pisello enorme; l'altro perfetto, ma non lo sa e si piange addosso sui suoi addominali scolpiti: bono e "carinissimo", con un lavoro più instabile ma che gli ha permesso di sfruttare il suo estro artistico - che, ovviamente, lo farà diventare ricchissimo -, patatino un po' scontroso ma solo per le prime tre facciate, team #relazioniserie che però va con il suddetto puttaniere la prima volta che lo incrocia, fisico che progressivamente diventa più tonico e muscolo, sadly dotato di pene più piccolo [anche se ovviamente sopra la media], capace di apprendere un lavoro manuale praticamente per osmosi) si innamorano perdutamente, mentre ristrutturano la casa della sorella di uno - permettendole di rifarsi una vita - e risolvono il rispettivo problema che ognuno dei due ha con la propria famiglia.
Tutto ciò occupa lo spazio di massimo cinque degli oltre quaranta capitoli: il resto è un'uscita in un bar con compare, due cene a casa dei genitori di ognuno, un appuntamento di coppia che non lo è davvero perché sono confusi (?) e una marea di trombate tutte uguali.
Sostanzialmente tutto è piatto - quando non è duro, pun intended - fino all'improvvisa svolta finale. Lo sviluppo della trama coincide, in una inconsapevole metafora bislacca della vita, con l'unica vera innovazione nella vita intima di queste due macchine del sesso: il top decide di stare sotto.
Perché, fuori da questo libro, la vita va così: se le cose ti sembrano finalmente andare per il verso giusto, stai per prenderla nel culo.
Nel romance no: tutto si risolve e i due vivranno per sempre felici e contenti. E con una vita piena di scopate che, e qui sta la vera irrealtà, nonostante le dimensioni spropositate, non sempre necessitano di lubrificante. Basta "un po' di saliva e tanto amore". [Ho provato un brivido di schifo riportando quella citazione]
Posto che non c'è davvero un approfondimento della personalità dei due narratori, il meglio del peggio emerge grazie ai dialoghi irreali che riempiono le pagine. Cose che nessuno direbbe mai, neppure fosse l'attore strapagato della più infima soup opera. Più volte mi sono sganasciato dalle risate: non penso fosse l'intento dell'autore, ma io lo ringrazio lo stesso.

Damn book covers! They don’t really matter. They don’t keep me happy and reading when the book goes to shit. But, y’all, they are like fishing lines with crack worms. Just luring me in happy and complacent to my book reading doom.
You ever notice that once something’s is brought to your attention, you can never unsee it? I read a review by Dani(ela) and it mentioned the present, first person perspective. And how awkward and wrong it feels. And Dani(ela) s totally right. It’s not great. It’s pretty bad.
I could’ve gotten beyond that though. I cannot get over... crappy and unrealistic sex scenes, constantly mentioning ‘pre-cum’ (why at 25% has it been mentioned more than once? Or even at all?), having no regard for real ages or timelines. That last one irks me to no end. Scott is 22? In what world? He’s lived with Jordan for 5 years, but struggled in college and didn’t do as well as his siblings, but has been doing his design business for 5 years. Uh huh. So at 17 he went to college, finished in 3 years, while doing his design job part-time, and now has his own company supporting himself, and did it all without anyone’s support. I’m not saying this is impossible but it’s silly unrealistic and what kills me is why? Why make this character extra young? It doesn’t matter to the plot from what I can see. I use ‘plot’ loosely bc at a quarter of the way through not much is happening.
I’m waving my white flag. Life’s too short to continue under the delusional promise of a pretty book cover. In honor of the cover though I rounded up on my star rating. You’re welcome.

Questo romanzo mi ha positivamente sorpresa. Dalla mia precedente lettura di un altro romanzo di Devon, mi aspettavo tutt'altra storia, molto più carnale e incentrata esclusivamente sui due protagonisti, invece ho trovato una trama ricca di dettagli, un parterre di personaggi secondari che hanno avuto parte attiva nella storia dei nostri due eroi. Una bella storia di crescita e maturazione per tutti e due, un rapporto nato solo ed esclusivamente per divertimento ma che si trasforma in qualcosa di speciale e che a sua volta trasforma i protagonisti stessi, facendo prendere loro coscienza di cosa vuol dire responsabilità e relazione. Ovviamente, ci sono fisicità e carnalità in abbondanza, o non sarebbe Devon McCormack.

Oggi vorrei parlavi del libro "Fixer Upper: ristrutturazioni" di Devon McCormack, edito da Quixote Translation.
Quando Mickey, nudo come mamma l'ha fatto, accompagna la sua ultima conquista alla porta, di certo non si sospetta di trovarsi di fronte Scott, il coinquilino di suo fratello, incavolato per il rumore che ha fatto con la ragazza svegliandolo.
Quello che si aspetta ancora meno è che, vedendolo, gli venga un’erezione quasi dolorosa.
Non sa cosa lo attiri di più, se il suo atteggiamento o il suo aspetto, ma sa che lo vuole.
Peccato che Scott non abbia alcuna intenzione di cedere e continui a trattarlo male.
Dopo una notte di bevute, però, tutto cambia e quella che fino a quel momento era stata una nuovola di tensione sessuale esplode.
Cosa cambierà nella sua vita?
In fondo è la prima volta che sta con un uomo, non ne è spaventato e sa che sarà tutto momentaneo perché lascerà la città per tornare al lavoro.
Ma forse i suoi piani non sono così precisi, perché dopo poco tempo con Scott non vuole che finisca, vuole tutto da lui, per la prima volta nella sua vita.
Quando mi è stato proposto questo libro mi aspettavo un romanzo hot e senza troppe pretese, da leggere per “smorzare” due libri più “pesanti” emozionalmente. Ho trovato tutto questo? Certo! Ma anche molto di più e ciò mi ha stupito.
Ho trovato un bel mix tra sentimenti e scene hot. Mi è piaciuta molto sia la caratterizzazione di Mickey, questo dio del sesso che in fondo vorrebbe solo trovare l'amore che ha sempre sperato di ricevere. In particolare, ha sempre sentito la mancanza di quello dei suoi genitori, che lo hanno deluso e maltrattato.
"Questo è il motivo per cui non permetto a me stesso di affezionarmi. Il perché la mia vita sia stata solo una serie di compagni di sesso occasionali; perché so cosa vuol dire essere traditi. So com'è quando l'amore, di cui pensavo di essere avvolto, mi viene improvvisamente portato via. Mi riporta indietro a quando avevo undici anni e ho affrontato mia madre, dicendole quello che pensavo avesse bisogno di sapere, aspettandomi amore e ottenendo invece solo rabbia, amarezza e senso di colpa. Ci si sente soli, così maledettamente soli."
Anche se a parole dice di non credere nella relazioni e nell'amore, in realtà è sempre il primo a darne in quantità. Aiuta i suoi fratelli con ogni mezzo e anche quando incontra, o meglio si scontra, con Scott, dopo i primi momenti non fa altro che tentare di diventare suo amico perché capisce che è ciò di cui ha bisogno, amici e divertimento.
Inoltre Scott dimostra avere poca autostima e Mickey, sempre più affezionato, prova in tutti i modi a fargli capire che non solo è abbastanza, ma è meraviglioso e talentoso.
I due protagonisti, pur essendo così diversi caratterialmente, vivono la stessa sensazione di solitudine.
Fortunatamente si troveranno l'un l'altro prima come amici "con benefici" e poi come qualcosa di più.
I personaggi secondari, ovvero i fratelli di Mickey, mi sono piaciuti molto; ho apprezzato la storia di Kate e la sua forza nell'andare avanti e riprendere in mano la sua vita e mi piaciuto anche il rapporto con i fratelli.
Per quanto riguarda Jordan, poi, mi piacerebbe leggere ancora di lui, perché vorrei conoscere anche la sua storia.
Non dico altro per evitare spoiler, però sento che anche lui potrebbe dare grandi soddisfazioni come il fratello.
Il libro si legge in maniera fluida, la scrittura scorre bene ed �� piacevole.
Le scene di sesso, pur essendo molto presenti, lasciano comunque spazio sia alla trama che allo sviluppo della relazione.
Secondo me questo è un libro davvero perfetto per tutti quelli che, insieme al romanticismo, amano anche una nota erotica.

I pretty much loved everything about this one. It’s funny as hell, that’s one great thing about it. I seriously couldn’t contain my laugh while listening to it, what got me some confusing looks at the gym. 🤷🏻♀️
Mikey is just TOO FUCKING MUCH. He’s too sexy, too cocky, too funny, too adorable and he KNOWS it, which could have been problematic but somehow it worked for me. And Scott is just as cute. With his self esteem problems and his lack of confidence but at the same time he’s such a greedy bottom. I love him.
Both guys come (har har) to the relationship with no pretenses, with stars as a fuck buddies situation, becomes something more when they are “forced” to live together to help Mikey’s sister. Some people might argue there’s too much sex, but I will tell you there’s no such a thing. I enjoyed the hell out of every single one. The DIRTY TALK is nothing but epic and the guy who narrated? Holy shit! I had to fan myself more than once. I suggest you all give the audiobook a try. Just saying.
The single thing that bothered me with this one was that the author chose that familiar road travelled so very often on m/m books: the one where once the guy discovers he’s bisexual, no women before compares to that one guy he’s currently fucking. That pisses me off, royalty. I just think you don’t need to shit on women just to make the point that your bisexual guy now likes to fuck men too. In fact, I think that sorts of denies bisexuality, which is by definition being attracted to both genders.
Anyways, aside from that, this book was a wild ride that I truly enjoyed. And the audiobook just made it more special, so congrats to the narrator.
PS: I shouldn’t even bother but since I know some of you are so sensitive, a fair warning: there’s graphic sex scene between a man and a woman. Yes. A VAGINA in your m/m book. There you go. You can breath now.

Titolo azzeccato, non solo per la ristrutturazione della casa che caratterizza la parte centrale del romanzo, ma anche per la ristrutturazione interna che devono affrontare i due protagonisti.
Una relazione che nasce senza impegno, una chimica fortissima che si tramuta in maratone sessuali molto intense unisce Mickey e Scott.
Ospite del fratello, Mickey si imbatte in Scott, il suo coinquilino, al termine di una serata bollente con una ragazza mozzafiato. Il primo incontro non è dei migliori: Scott è irritato per i rumori che i due hanno fatto e Mickey reagisce male alle critiche.
Nonostante tutto tra i due si scatena un’elettricità che può portare solo al sesso, e che sesso.
Per Mickey è la prima volta con un uomo, per Scott è la prima volta dopo la rottura col suo ex.
Passati i dubbi iniziali, i due decidono di prendersi tutto quello che la loro breve relazione può dargli; poco dopo infatti Mickey finirà di ristrutturare la casa della sorella e tornerà alla sua vita di sempre, separato da Scott dall’intera nazione.
Quello che però è nato senza impegno con il tempo matura e, nonostante i due si rifiutino di ammettere che anche i sentimenti sono in gioco, l’amore cresce e ci porterà verso un happy ending coi fiocchi.
Una storia semplice ma intensa, con due protagonisti che hanno entrambi problemi con le loro famiglie, con dei genitori che li hanno delusi, demotivati e allontanati. La risoluzione di questi problemi aumenta lo spessore dei due personaggi e rende la lettura completa.
Si tratta quindi di un romanzo che sembra senza troppe pretese e invece si rivela un’ottima scelta di lettura.

An okay read. I would've like more emotional depth. I don't think I fully buy into the romance, though I did enjoy the characters. I liked them together. I liked the plot, what there was. I'm happy with the ending.

I'm not sure why I feel the need to keep reading with some books and have no trouble DNFing others. I stuck with this right to the end, and while I liked the plot, the way it was presented wasn't for me. 1st person POV is difficult to pull off, and alternatively 1st person POV even more so and I wish it wasn't so popular in this genre. I also didn't like the sex talk - whether in RL or in fiction lines like “take my big fat cock" simply sound ridiculous and make me roll my eyes.
Yeah, let's file this under "not my cup of tea" and trust my instincts the next time.

it was a nice story and had it all ... but somehow I didn't feel connected to Mickey and Scott and for me something was missing.
I was also a bit frustrated at the end as I couldn't understand why Scott reacted that way. especially after the time they shared and how it developed
so all in all an ok read
