I first came across Steve Redwood when I was an editor of a small-press short story magazine, whereupon I quickly fell in love with his bizarre sense of humour. Who Needs Cleopatra did not disappoint - it is an anarchic and often hilarious time-travelling fable featuring a hapless hero, Leonardo da Vinci and various villains in a tangled temporal web that makes the film Back to the Future Part II look like a walk in the park. If you like Terry Pratchett or Toby Frost, this is well worth checking out. Steph Bennion
