Tammy

What the hell was I thinking? If someone would've told me I would be involved with a male-whore biker like Viper, I would've said they were crazy. But here I am having feelings for someone I know I shouldn't be with. He's been trying to be with me for months. And for months I was strong and resisted. But one day stupid me, agreed. I mean what the hell, right? How bad could it be? After that, my decision comes back to bite me big time. It's not the greatest, but can I really regret being with Viper? There's something about him that makes it hard to stay away from him.

Viper

Man, this woman makes me want to strangle her or drop her like a bad habit, whichever comes first. I swear there are days where I don't know if I'm talking to her or her split personality. One day everything is good and she's wonderful, everything I've ever wanted, but then the shit hits the fan. The going back and forth is enough to drive anyone insane but I still want her. Am I under some spell or completely out of my mind? Whatever it is, I don’t know if I’m coming or going with her. But then something comes back to bite me where it fucking hurts the most. It's enough to destroy everything I want with Tammy. How can we move past this? Will she be able to forgive me and love me as I love her?

WARNING! The scenes in this book are for a mature 18+ audience.

What I Loved: I'm a sucker for Alpha men and babies. I love it! Viper definitely steps up as a father who loves his children and his woman. He doesn't shy away from being there during the pregnancies and the doctor's appointments or even in the delivery room when the time comes. He obviously was meant to be a dad.

What I Liked: The premise of the story. There was so much potential here for a great MC book. Viper and the woman he loves are finally about to have everything they wanted, a baby, a great house, the whole happily ever after. Only due to a mistake while Viper and Tammy were on the outs, Viper now has another baby on the way with a club girl. Talk about drama! There could have been some truly great scenes between all three characters trying to deal with this type of situation. There were a lot of emotions about it all but they weren't completely explored in detail for the reader to see and experience.

What I Didn't Like: One of the biggest issues I had with Ace is the time jumping, floating back and forth between past and present. I'd hoped we wouldn't have that in Viper but unfortunately we did (in the beginning) which I have to be honest, made this story harder to connect with for me. When that finally stopped and the story started to unfold as we were reading, instead of smooth transitions of time, we had time stamps before paragraphs. Thirty minutes later, two weeks later, fifteen minutes later, etc... This was so not needed and again lessened the smooth continuity that the story otherwise could have had.

My other problem was how we got a million details about certain things and then no detail about other things. It seemed as if every sex scene was drawn out in every possible detail but the scenes I really wanted, the ones truly pivotal to the little bit of plot, were brushed over.

I have to be honest here. Yes, there is potential here for a decent story but there are so many issues with the execution that I have to wonder, was there a beta reader? What about the editor? What happened in the process of creating this story? Was there any research done on pregnancy and what happens at each doctor's visit? *SPOILER* 2 and 3 months is too early to determine sex of a baby. This is generally done around 18 weeks and even then it may be hard to tell.

Also, what man has unprotected sex with a club girl? Are you deranged? Why would Tammy allow him to have unprotected sex with her after that? No, just no!

When I read MC Romance, I want to see the MC. I want the author somehow to pull the lifestyle into the story. I want action and suspense, some grit and emotion. I don't mind sweet but I need something to offset that as well. There are many parts of this story where we could've gotten that but it never truly panned out. We got sex, lots of sex. We got Viper talking like a biker but other than that I felt like this was just a story of a man (who happens to belong to a motorcycle club who had two kids by two different women. One he loves while the other was a one night stand gone wrong.

I'm not sure I can recommend this book. I would love to see the author go back and rework it first.

Viper

Ok I hate leaving bad reviews but this book grated on my nerves a lot and I skimmed 50% of it. The thing that frustrated me the most was the sequence of events and flow of the read. It was all over the place and facts out of place made for an annoying read. I did finish it but under sufferance

Potential…doesn’t count. I’ve read some decent MC drama similar to this and loved it but didn’t make sense. 2 babies to different women at same time. What a tosser and lameo. Unlikeable characters

This was an ok read. I got a bit confused with the timing of things. Unless I completely misread things, Tammy should have been farther along in her pregnancy than Destiny. Tammy broke up with Viper because she thought she couldn’t have a baby. Then, she discovered she was pregnant while they were broken up, but didn’t tell him until a while after they got back together as she was afraid she’d miscarry again. Destiny got pregnant while Tammy and Viper were broken up. So, Tammy should have been farther along. Instead, Destiny had her baby 6 weeks before Tammy… at that point I skimmed the rest of the book…

Needs some editing

Has the potential for a great story line but (to me) feels like there are story pieces missing to give a complete picture. Also needs some editing. Incomplete sentences and/or wrong words missing/used.

Not too good but not bad either. I would have love the pacing of this book if not for the fact that she’s dragging out the erotica part.

This is a story that has it all Love, pain, second chances. Tammy and Viper fall in love fast and life is going good for them until Tammy looses the baby. Tamm gets devistating news and pushes Viper away. He was hurt and fell back into his manwhore ways. Thus is a complicated and tender love story. The love scenes are plenty and being a satisfaction to the strife earlier in the book.

Love me some Viper …. Gotta love a Bad Ass Biker with a soft side. Ms. Marstead has got such a remarkable way with words when it comes to MC books, and she doesn’t disappoint with Viper in my humble opinion. This one is not all hard-nose gang type but it's very well written and thoroughly enjoyable.

Viper is so hung up on his woman, Tammy, that when she walks away his world get turned totally upside down and out of control. And poor Tammy, her heart’s in the right place but her thinking is messed up. This is a great addition to the Brimstone Kings MC series. The book will keep your toes curling and your emotions on the edge (you may even need a tissue or two). The storyline and the characters are so well written that it will touch your heart and you’ll feel like part of the family. So much so that, just like your own family, you’ll want to smack their heads one minute and hug them tight the next - just awesome.

2 Thumbs up for a great book 2 in the series Ms. Marstead, a series I highly recommend.

Viper has so much potential. Having read the previous title in this series, I found the writing to be much improved but there are some real inconsistencies with the plot and timeline of events syncing up. It also really requires editing, as I picked up quite a few errors.

Overall the story is engaging, has heat and the hero and heroine share a great chemistry all things I look for in a great romance.

Although it's an MC romance, the MC is not a huge part of the plot.

I really believe that with editing and beta reading this book could really be improved.

I look forward to seeing J.J. Marstead develop as an author and look forward to reading more of her work in the future.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.

After reading book 1 in this series I was really looking forward to Tammy and Vipers story and although I did enjoy reading it I also felt like it just wasn't quite there it judt felt a little rushed in places.

If you have read Ace book 1 in this series which I would really recommend you do before reading this one you will already be aware that Tammy and Viper have a on again off again relationship. Viper is in love with Tammy but she just keeps pushing him away. She has insecurities that she can't be what he wants and after receiving devastating news she decides to walk away from him for good this time will he make her see sense before its too late or is it really all over between them.
Their story is a heartbreaking one and you can't help but hope they can find their way through and finally be happy together.

This is book 2 in the Brimstone Kings MC series. I have to start by saying that I don't understand why this is considered an MC series. The club barely plays any part in it at all. It almost feels like it's a trap to make you buy the book if you are an MC series fan. It's pretty much a Hallmark or Lifetime movie but with lots of sex.

It was definitely better than book 1 which I definitely had lots of issues with. Book 2 revolves around Dalton, aka Viper, who is Ace's (from book 1) best friend and club mate, and Tammy, who is Alison's (from book 1) older sister.

There is lots of drama surrounding their relationship, lots of immaturity on her part and spitefulness on his, both being huge reasons why their relationship goes to hell in a hand basket without any hope of revival.

In the end, what had dropped in Viper's lap due to his own ( and maybe a little bit of Tammy's) doing made him more likable because of his reaction to it. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but it was messed up and made me nervous. Tammy's reaction was normal as well. And they both dealt with the situation in a pretty decent way I thought.

I would also like to mention that the author's writing is a little better in this book than in book 1. Book 1 felt like it had been written by a high school freshman, it really made the story and characters really unlikable because of that. But, like I said, book 2 is definitely an improvement.
