Is there a problem, Officer?

Jack Garrett isn’t a police officer yet, but there’s already an emergency. His new firearms instructor—the one who just dropped every jaw in the academy gym—is the same sexy Irish stranger Jack locked lips with last night. The Olympic gold medalist and expert markswoman is now officially off-limits, but Jack’s never cared much for rules . . .

Katie McCoy’s been cooped up in a shooting range for too long. A wild love affair is just what she needs to let loose, though she never imagined it would be with her smokin’ hot trainee. She cannot get involved with Jack—but a quick fling? Perfect. Falling hard for a charismatic recruit with an equal amount of sex appeal and secrets? Bloody stupid.

Jack’s charmed the pants off plenty of women (literally), yet few have ever looked beyond his perfect surface. Until Katie. He’ll do anything to keep her in his life . . . except tell her about his past. But a tiny lie of omission never hurt anyone, right?

Jack Garrett. Superhero. Protecting New York City’s women from two-pump chumps one night at a time.

Love, love, LOVED this!!! I thought I was head over heels for this series after the first book, but that doesn't even compare to the warm and fuzzies that I have after finishing this one. Full of quirky humor, incredibly endearing characters, an addicting story line and a sizzling romance, Indecent Exposure was one unputdownable read. I simply adored it and I simply adored Jack.

If you know me or follow my reviews, you know that those irreverent playboy heroes are my catnip. I can't get enough of them. I love watching them fall hard and unexpectedly. I love their cockiness and dirty talking ways in the bedroom. And Jack Garrett was all of those things.
Damn right. When women see me coming, their hormones whisper my name. I’m a demon in the sack. And most important, I treat girls with respect. Why shouldn’t they want to go home with me at the end of the night?

Most definitely. But he was also so, SO much more! There's a lot more to the man than first meets the eye; a depth that's heartbreaking when you get to the core of it. The mindless drinking, the bed hopping, the never take anything serious attitude is an illusion for a man hiding some incredibly painful demons. But a beautiful redhead is determined to make him see his worth, and Jack is completely lost to her innocent charm
“Tell me I can call this mine.
Tell me when we’re in this room tomorrow and everyone wants what I got, I’ll know this tight spot is for me. Only for me to treat so fucking good. Katie, tell me.”

Katie wasn't the typical firecracker, sassy heroine that I love. There was something so endearing about her quiet and unassuming strength, though. I loved the way she fought for Jack even when he had given up on himself and made him see that he wanted more. I loved the way that Jack was drawn to her like a magnet and couldn't stay away no matter how hard he tried. And man oh man did I love the dirty talk!
Feel this?” He slides his inches out of me and punches back in with a growl. “It’s yours for as long as you want it. You’ve got it locked down. The only reason I’ll take it out is to piss a circle around you.”

To say that I loved this book would be a sever understatement. I devoured it. I couldn't get enough of the quirky humor and incendiary romance. That's not to mention all the peaks into my favorite grumpy sergeant and the sassy recruit that never fails to put him in his place. GAWD but I can't wait for their book.

Indecent Exposure kept a smile on my face from beginning to finish. Well, at least when it wasn't making me squirm uncomfortably in my chair (because holy sizzle, batman!) It was swoony, sexy, and quirky humor. I loved it beyond reason!

5 ‘Soothe, fix, heal, love’ Stars

Sweet. Baby. Jesus… Not just five starts, but ALL THE STARS!!!

Indecent Exposure, this Tessa Bailey’s masterpiece, managed to shred my heart to pieces and put it back together, making it whole and glow with Jack and Katie’s story!

Everyone that follows me, knows that manwhores – even if reformed – are one of my least favorite tropes, so I have to confess I was a bit wary going into this one. I know, I know, I should have know that our Queen of Dirty Talkers would never let me down.

But the alcohol makes it a shit ton easier to say yes. Yes to the girl, yes to what my body wants right now, but will regret later.

Well, I’m the first to admit and cajole myself for my own mistake, because ladies and gentleman, Jack Garret is EVERYTHING!!!

There was do denying his physical – PERFECT COVER REPRESENTATION, BTW! – and charismatic, irresistible attributes, but he couldn’t be any different than what I expect. Tessa Bailey gave in this male character, such a complex, endearing and realistic persona, that I can honestly say Jack Garrett stole my heart, right along with Katie’s.

It seems an awful gluttony of five-star qualities on a single person. God should have spread them around His other creations a bit.

As soon as this completely unrealistic, possibly CGI creature stops trying to knock me into a coma with his physical charms, I’ll be off to the races.

Due to events of her past and her upbringing – I’ll try to do this as spoiler free as possible – , Katie McCoy has lived a secluded lifestyle, so this international police exchange to NYC is just the first step of true freedom she has in a very long time, if not ever. What she hadn’t anticipated was Jack, in all his pirate smiling glory, crossing paths with her!

Every day of my life has been scheduled and executed without fail.
This man is not on my agenda.

If I’m not mistaken, Jack is the Big Bad Wolf and I’m Little Red Riding Hood.

The attraction is instant, and knocks them both of balance, but it’s Katie resistance to his charms, and his reaction to her as whole that intrigues Jack, and he finds himself following her and wanting even more of the ‘sexy and cute-as-a-button’ redhead. So much more.

“One kiss.” He takes a step forwards, his big chest rising and falling. “I know I’m pushing it, Snaps. But I’m dying over here.”

“See, this is no big deal to you. Because you’re the Big Bad Wolf.”
“I’m what?” His laugh is full and aching. “
Ah, Katie. Is that just because I want to eat you so bad?”

And so it starts this epic TB and one that will be forever one my favorite ‘best book boyfriend’.

I . . . love claiming Katie. Or being claimed by her. I’m not sure which is better.

Jack is such a tormented soul hiding behind a cocky, oversexualized persona, with a life full of sex and alcohol, his only coping mechanism to deal with the pain and hurt ever present in his days. Again, I’m not revealing more, because you need to discover all that is this man as you go along the story, so that you enjoy all the magnificence and beauty of Tessa Bailey’s perfectly weaved background.

I’m not broken with Katie. When we’re together, I’m grounded in the moment.

There’s something special inside this man. I feel it all over. He needs to feel it, too.

Dear Lord, they really clenched my heart with their interactions, and their unveilings. Not only Jack was beyond amazing, but Katie was just as brilliantly written. He was all that Jack wouldn’t even dare to hope for or dream. I loved that the main conflict was set earlier than usual in the book, since it just made me believe and react even more to whole scene, that had me literally sobbing and suffering with the both of them. They were just so Perfectly Imperfect and REAL!!!

Katie knew. She sees me. She’s inside me, under me, around me. And it’s still not enough.
I want inside of her, too. So deep she can’t dig me out.

Jack’s love and devotion – I would even say, worshipping – for Katie was so otherworldly perfect and dreamy, that translated in the most incredible quotes and thoughts. Seriously, it was almost impossible to choose (and you can see by the generous shortened amount I added to this, lol) from all heart touching moments and words of adoration.

Of course, like every TB hero, Jack Garret not only made me constantly swoon and sigh, cry and sob, but also the man was a silver tongue devil with a deliciusly filthy mouth that was created to combust panties everywhere. Tessa Bailey really is unparalleled in the dirty talking department!

“I seem to recall you were the one begging,” she says breathily.
My balls squeeze like they’re in a vise. “If you like begging, I’ll give it to you, honey,” I rasp. “I’ll wear out the knees on every pair of jeans in my closet . . . begging.”

Speaking of holy Sundays, I’m pretty sure Katie’s ass up in the air is what heaven looks like. Her trembling thighs are the pearly gates and I’m just a sinner, begging Saint Peter to get inside.

Tessa Bailey indeed knocked it out of the park with Indecent Exposure! I have now a new TB fav in this book, and a new TB fav H, best book boyfriend in Jack Garrett – sorry, Will, I still adore you, but I just can’t resist a broken hero. Amazing and enthralling story writing, brilliant and complex characters, and a dynamic plot that just keeps you hooked from the very first line. Now, with all the teasing from this two first books, I can’t wait to see how it will all go down with Danika and Lieutenant ‘ColdHearted’ Burns! Tessa Bailey really is a Queen. Not only of Dirty Talkers, but a overall Queen of Romance! All the Stars to ALL the feels! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“Thank you, mouth.” “You’re thanking my mouth?” She breathes, her eyes glazed over, head falling back.
I hum low in my throat, leaning forwards to lick a path up the side of her neck. “Your lips open so you can breathe, right? I’m thanking them for helping my girl breathe.”

“Whenever I picture you, I think of the day we met. You’re walking away, telling me it’s going to take a long time to forget my eyes.”
My heart wrenches sideways. “It would have taken a long time after five minutes, Katie,” I rasp. “Now it would take forever. Maybe longer.”

OMG, how cute is this story? How cute is Jack Garrett? How cute is Katie McCoy? After the unfortunate bad start I wasn't expecting this ball of sweetness, and honestly ... Jack Garrett was the absolute best! I didn't pay much attention to him in the previous novel due to him always seeming boozy and intoxicated, but this novel just gave me a 360 on him. Also, Katie and her quirky, genuine and open attitude made my day! I loved how open and honest she talked, even when being awkward, no, especially when being awkward! This story was mushy and sweet and all lovey-dovey, but you know what? I loved every second of it. Sometimes there are these books that have some cliche-filled bad-boy-womanizer turned good guy. Here, Jack has always been a good guy and just needed the right push (or the right woman) to show him just how awesomely awesome he really is. I can't wait to dig into the next novel, I have a feeling Greer is gonna be my favoritest character ever ... I already love his grumpy ass!

This was ok, I just did not enjoy this as much as I expected from a Tessa Bailey book. Certainly, this was not as fun for me as book 1 in the series.

There’s some serious undertones as Jack (H) was a male rape victim and he drank himself to oblivion to forget and to punish himself for that event. His alcoholism is basically fucking up his life and he doesn’t even acknowledge that until he met the heroine.

I didn’t like that he ‘gained’ clarity and tried to be sober coz he met Katie and didn’t want to forget anything about her. I just don’t like this part like it places the onus of sobriety on the heroine (which they did discuss that they didn’t want that to happen).

I’m looking forward to the third book though.

Seems to be the day of the 2-star ratings. Sadly.

I think I prefer her non-NA-style romances. It's one thing to read Tessa Bailey's OTT dirty-talking heroes and their shenanigans in bed, but quite another to read it in first PoV. I'm a sucker for chocolate fudge cake, but add chocolate sauce on top of it with vanilla ice cream and I feel as if I'll be falling into a sugar shock any moment. That's what this NA-style writing is like from Tessa Bailey.

But hey, I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who'll love it. I'll just wait till she switches back (or away) from that writing style.

I am way behind my reading target. I tried to keep up with my reading since this is a long weekend. Alas, I have many errand to do.

Indecent Exposure has a darker side. Miss Bailey does not describe it in detail but it is enough to make Jack's character relatable.
I was struggle to understand Katie. I wish Miss Bailey can have more solid background character on her.

Overall, this is a wonderful read.

"I'm used to women wanting me, but I've definitely never wanted to crawl towards them on hands and knees."

Yessss Jack. Tell her.

This was a great 3 star read. I know you know what I mean. I loved Katie and Jack and I love TB, but this maxed out at a 3, for me.

Side note— Jack is a hot name. I'm tired of creative names. I love me a guys being dudes ass name. I also currently have a giant Boredom Crush™️ on this guy who works at the taco place by my house named Jack so that may be adding to the appeal...

Wow. This was not at all what I expected. Yes, it was well written, hot as all get out, and made me chuckle in some places. But what I didn't expect was the sadness and pain lurking in Jack. I don't want to say too much and give anything away, but just k ow that behind the charm is a man I just wanted to hold. I loved this!

Somehow I missed the first book in Tessa Bailey’s The Academy series, but after reading Indecent Exposure I will be rectifying that soon. I felt like this book almost had two sides, a light-hearted, fun side and an overwhelming emotional side, both equally important and making it a strong and satisfying romance.

I wasn’t really sure how I felt about Jack Garrett for a good part of this book, while he seemed like a nice enough guy; he seemingly had no ambition and flitted through life in a haze of booze and sex. Then he meets Katie McCoy, a woman whose life has been nothing but structure, training, and doing her best to make her strict father happy, but knowing she can never replace her brother in his eyes. From the minute they meet there is a charge in the air, it is exciting and electric and it has them both feeling unbalanced in different ways.

Their connection was undeniable and it wasn’t all about lust, from almost the beginning they were sharing things about themselves they rarely shared with anyone including the people closest to them. With Katie in the states on a short work assignment, they know their time is limited which only ratchets up the intensity between them. I loved watching Jack share his love of New York with Katie and even taking her to visit some sites that while a bit gruesome were some places she longed to see. I admired Katie for her strength and her ability and the fact that she realized that there was more to Jack than the front he seemed to present to the world and that she encouraged him and made him begin to see his self worth. Jack inspired Katie to look at life a bit differently, to let loose and enjoy, something she’s never had a chance to do, and in doing so she discovered so much about herself and even with pressures from home mounting it was hard for her to deny that she loved the changes she’d made in her life.

One part of the story that troubled me was I felt like Jack was tying his sobriety into his need to be a better person for Katie. I really felt like he needed to take some time away from her to discover who he was without the aid of alcohol before he plunged head first into a serious relationship, but I can’t deny they were good together.

Completely engrossing, touching, yet with a sense of whimsy, I loved Indecent Exposure.

Tessa Bailey’s ‘The Academy’ series is shaping out to be quite a gem of all her books. ‘Indecent exposure’ is engaging, fun, appropriately angsty when the occasion calls for it and more emotionally resonant than the first book in the series.

A deadbeat loser was what I’d thought of Jack Garrett and I was nothing but sceptical when Bailey insisted on writing his HEA. But Bailey’s rather insightful articulation of Jack’s issues, emotions and personal demons deserve some applause here, as she makes him a sympathetic hero whose upbringing and past explains—though doesn’t necessarily excuse—the way he always behaves. Just as Jack is the drifter with no ambition in life, Katie McCoy’s upbringing has been the exact, regimented opposite with high after high and prize after prize.

In many ways, Jack and Katie are complete opposites and their coming together is probably nothing short of a miracle save for Katie’s honesty, openness and compassion which makes Jack need to level with her. I was in fact, surprised at the speed at which they shared so many things about each other when I’d barely gotten to a quarter of the book, but it does in fact, smooth the way for sizzling sexy times (which are frankly, over-the-top as usual) and a more intimate connection where there would be none.

Nonetheless, I did think however, that Jack really needed some time apart from Katie to work on himself and to fix his issues—time and the skin-flaying kind of therapy. Katie did hit the nail on the head when she said that she couldn’t be a crutch for him as he started his long recovery and I wished that Bailey had actually separated them, just so that Jack could meet her as a better man and in a better position from when they first started. I would have liked to see them together 6 months or a year down the road though, as a yardstick of how far they’d come together, but the epilogue—just a mere 48 hours after the climax—wasn’t sufficient for me to believe the rather rushed and abrupt HEA that Bailey wraps up for them both.

That said, I’m liking this series quite a lot and with a fiery recruit and a stodgy lieutenant next in line? Bring it on.

"Indecent Exposure" is the story of Katie and Jack.
Jack is the happy and charming pretty boy of the Academy, who lives his life surrounded by women and booze. Not at all interested in suceeding at the Academy, he is pushed by his best friend Danika and works just enough so that his mother does not have to return to the brothel.
Things take a turn when one night, on the way to a bar he encounters a pretty redhead sightseeing a mob murder locale, and is instantly turned on by her- only to realize the next day that she's his new firearm instructor.
Katie, our Dublin belle has always lived under her overbearing father since her brother passed away, who has pushed her vigorously towards her gold Olympic medal win- and a life without enjoyment. She finally takes two weeks off, visiting USA with a list of things to do while training cadets, only to meet Jack there on her first night.
Both start a journey of forbidden attraction- but as Jack lies about his past, they have a way of exposing themselves..
Ok so first the positives
-GORGEOUS cover
-Lovable characters- both primary and secondary. Happy to read about Charlie and excited to read about Danika!
-Angst!! Loved the oodles of it!
Now, my not so favorite parts..
-I felt the book kinda dragged on in the second half. Loads of things happened all at once, and even post the drama the grovel was minimal.
-The sex scenes in this one were just A-ok!
-The whole bag thing was a bit cheesy to me overall
-I wanted a more convinient resolution for both H and h's past issues
You know when you adore an author so much that you feel guilty giving them anything below 5 stars? That is Tessa for me- but this one was just a good read at its best.

“She sees me. She’s inside me, under me, around me. And it’s still not enough. I want inside of her, too. So deep she can’t dig me out.”

There isn’t one word, one page, one chapter, one book by Tessa Bailey that I didn’t FALL IN LOVE with at first glance. She has this AMAZING TALENT that hypnotizes me with every turn of the page. From the moment I discovered her work, there was no going back. I’m in LOVE! I will always be IN LOVE with everything she puts out into the world. Ms. Bailey IS and WILL ALWAYS BE one of my all time FAVORITE romance writers!

If you weren’t in love with The Academy Series before, get ready to fall HOPELESSLY with Jack and Katie’s whirlwind romance. It’s so special and so beautiful, I NEVER stood a chance! I LOVED Jack from the very start and I was excited that he was getting his happily ever after so soon! Katie was the PERFECT MATCH for our dear Jack and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with this coupling! The swiftness of their connection just did something to me. I LOVED that it was immediate and that immediately Jack couldn’t get enough of this enigma of a woman. Katie’s reaction to him at first was hilarious, she was just in her own world, until she turned around and fell under his spell. Time is not on their side, neither is the past. But they will make the most of the time that they do have and it will grow into something so incredible, that neither of them will be able to deny it.

Jack’s story is heartbreaking and it made my heart drop on more than one occasion. But the light that Katie brought to his life was just what he needed to turn his life around. She made him want to be a better man and in turn, she wanted to be ONLY HIS.

INDECENT EXPOSURE had so much heart and soul…so much heat and emotion. I LOVED every single second that I was completely LOST in this book and in this world. To say that I’m anxiously awaiting the next book would be a gross understatement. I will ALWAYS CRAVE more of Tessa Bailey’s words…ALWAYS!

I'm a broken record when it comes to Tessa Bailey. I am completely biased when it comes to anything she writes. I devour everything she writes. Her characters pack a punch and it was no different with Jack and Katie. My god. Jack. Just everything. Gah! And then Katie. So very rare for this to happen but she's a member of my Leading Ladies Club. Everything about her was endearing and powerful. I fell in love with her myself. As usual I was sucked into their world and greedy for every bit of information about them and other characters. Be prepared for an emotional ride.

But I'm holding out for Danika and Greer. I'm invested in each character, especially these two. And knowing Tessa Bailey she won't disappoint.

This has in no way influenced my voluntary review, which is honest and unbiased *Indecent Exposure is a whirlwind romance between a broken Jack and a strong Katie. I loved how they both helped each other heal, and deal with life's difficulties in a healthy way.

Review - (un)Conventional Bookviews
Story:
Indecent Exposure follows Jack, whom I met in Disorderly Conduct, and Katie. Their hot romance is so fast it swept me off my feet. I loved how they were so in tune to each other from when they first met. And how they both wanted to be more because of their meeting.
Characters:
Jack is a big flirt, drinking too much alcohol, and hiding a lot of hurt. Even his best friends don't know everything about him. When his excessive drinking starts to truly hurt those he cares about, though, he realizes he needs to change.

Katie is a strong female character, a rifle shooting instructor for the Garda in Ireland, she's in New York for two weeks on an exchange program. And she has a list of things to do while in New York. Both for herself and for her deceased brother.
Writing style :
Written in dual perspective, Indecent Exposure gives great insight to both Katie and Jack. First person narration and past tense, with plenty of dialogues made for an easy read at a rather fast pace for the most part.
Feels :
Jack broke my heart. Like, completely and utterly broke my heart. I loved how he managed to finally ask himself the important questions and make some changes to his downward spiral, though. And there was so much hope in Indecent Exposure, which thankfully put my heart back together again.

This book is fantastic and the book summary does not do it justice. The depth to this blindsided me. I was expecting a light fluffy read with Jack as the hero but what we get is so much more. This is one emotional, heartbreaking, sexy, funny read. There are many layers to Jack, and until he meets Katie we have no idea. Katie is awesome. She is perfect for Jack and I love them two together. I trusted her to give Jack exactly what he needed while at the same time staying true to herself. She did not disappoint. Tessa Bailey knocked this one out of the park. This is making my list of one of my top reads of the year. 5++ stars.

First off, I have to admit this is my first Tessa Bailey's book. I own a bunch of her novels but have never read any. That being said, I can see why people like her stories so much. They are refreshing and engaging.

Indecent Exposure begins when Katie McCoy meets Jack Garrett. You wonder how? Outside a bar in New York where a mob hit happened years ago. Katie has an obsession with mob hits and she was determined to see them while on her first trip to NYC. Next thing she knows, an extremely handsome man is offering his company as a tour guide.

Katie doesn't go inside bars for a personal reason while Jack seems to live in one. So how could a relationship between them work? It just does. Tessa Bailey does a wonderful job of bringing these two characters together.

Katie is originally from Ireland. She is a markswoman and an Olympian medalist. She's in NYC to train the new police recruits on firearms. What she wasn't expecting was to see Jack as part of her class.

Jack uses the bottle to forget his past. He joined the police force after losing a bet with his best friend Danika. He's not interested in his new career except for getting paid and helping his mother stay afloat. Things do change when Katie crosses his path. She sees something in him and it makes him try to do better.

Indecent Exposure had a solid plot. The addiction angle was a good one. It was easy to like the characters and root for them. The one drawback for me was the almost insta-love feel. I would have had Jack get the help he needs and remain apart until he was stronger than before. Yet, the epilogue was wonderful.

Cliffhanger: No

My favourite thing about Tessa Bailey’s characters is the fact that they’re all so devoted to whoever the love interest is, especially when it comes to this series. I’m reading them backwards and I don’t know why but regardless, the chemistry between the characters rolls off them in waves. I really liked Jack. I think there needed to be some more attention on his alcoholism and his recovery. Alcoholism is no joke and an addict wouldn’t necessarily be able to handle their sober days as easily as Jack did. I think it was believable to an extent, but I wanted a bit more from this. I needed the gritty stuff. Aka, Jack dealing with his need to drink and the ugliness of it. This could have been a lol’ better developed. That’s all I’m saying. Same goes for his childhood. I’m probably missing some important shit because I still haven’t read the first one but I figured that because this is Jack’s story, there would be more background info but hmm.

Anyway, I loved the way these characters were drawn to each other. I don’t think I’ll get over how Tessa Bailey consistently writes successful steamy scenes and makes me feel like I’m intruding on the sexy time lmao. It’s fucking fantastic.

Wow, this book turned out so very different than I expected and I say that in the most positive way.

Of all the Tessa Bailey books I’ve read over the last year it brought me closest to the feel amd vibe of her early books (the Line of Duty books but without the suspense plots). But it was also much more than that.

INDECENT EXPOSURE is such a great mix of sugary sweet romance, sexy heat that included some of the finest dirty talk and emotional heartbreak through topics that were not for the faint of heart (sexual assault and alcoholism).

Jack’s story broke my heart with its darkness and pain and I loved Katie for being his “savior” and the person to bring him back into the light, so to speak.

I loved this one a lot and I can’t wait to read Greer and Danika’s story. That one is going to be explosive for sure!

This book is about soulmates. This book is about personal growth. It's about finding that one person on the entire planet that understands you on such a fundamental level that it's impossible to ignore. The connection changes you the second you come into contact with that person. This book is powerful. It handles issues that are hard and uncomfortable at times, but wow how the journey is rewarding. The heart and emotion Tessa Bailey put into this story gave me tingles.

Jack Garrett. Playboy extraordinaire with a penchant for alcohol and not taking life too seriously. He's just out to have a good time and take life as it comes. He's dragged kicking and screaming to join the police academy by his best friend Danika after losing a bet. After being raised in a brothel he's basically in it for the paycheck so he can help take care of his mom now. She's been out of that life for a while, but he still wants to give back anyway he can. He still battles many unpleasant memories from his childhood, so keeping a constant buzz seems to help dull his mind. While on his way to a favorite bar he finds a gorgeous redhead peeking in the window. When she turns her pretty blue eyes on him he knows he'll never be the same.

Katie McCoy is visiting the States from Ireland for two weeks on the International Police Exchange Program, and she's the new arms instructor for the police academy trainees. She's an Olympic gold medalist and her life has been all work and no play for years. While in New York she has a list of adventures she'd like to accomplish. Things she's never had the time or freedom to do before. While checking off item number one on her list she meets a man so handsome and charismatic he takes her breath away. Jack Garrett. Something about him has her captivated. He helps her complete her first item, and they also share a steamy kiss. When she sees that the sexy guy she kissed the night before is under her instruction at the academy, she's torn on what she should do (cut off all personal interaction) and what her instincts are telling her (dig deeper and get to know this complicated man).

As the two spend more time together Jack learns that Katie has her own reasons for being hesitant to get involved with him. From all outward appearances their life struggles contradict 100%, and she doesn't see how those issues can be overcome. Jack refuses to give up though. He's finally found that one person who sees through the superficial mask he shows the world, and he won't give her up without a fight.

I just wanted to keep reading about this couple long after the book ended. I was so connected to them, and I loved watching their journeys line up and come together. Their soul deep yearning for each other was magical. I also love the variety of subject matter in this series. It had such a different tone from Charlie and Ever in book one. I really recommend this story!

At some point or another, I think I've read everything Tessa Bailey has written.

If this isn't the case, I'm close.

But what I can say for certain is this is not only one of the best books I've ever read, but it's also quite possibly the best book Ms. Bailey has ever written.

I'm picky. And, yes, it's that good.

Jack. Where do I even start with how broken he is from events in his past? And, who wouldn't be? He had a rough childhood, yet somehow he came out of it with a stunning ability to love and care about others, even if his ability to do the same about himself is a little damaged. But, broken as he is, he's most certainly not beyond repair.

The beauty though is that while Katie shows Jack that he's better than he even realizes, he learns this for himself. You like Jack from the beginning, but by the end, you fall a little in love with him because of who he is, of what he's gotten past, because of what he's endured and because of who you watch him become.

Katie brings her own baggage, but who doesn't. And, her baggage conflicts with who Jack is...or rather the way Jack copes with the things in his life. And, I loved the angst this caused, the tension felt real. More often than not you love the people you love in spite of their flaws, you maybe learn to live with the imperfections, but the reality is that when love works, when it's real, it's the ability to accept all of the other person because letting them go is worse.

This book is angsty. Your heart will be in your throat, there will be times Jack, and Katie, break your heart. But it's so incredibly worth it.

I couldn't put this book down, and more importantly, I didn't want to. I didn't want it to end, and I'm sad I finished it. I want more time with Jack and Katie.

Jack and Katie are amazing. I recommend this title.

I enjoyed the cast of characters from the first book in this series, so I was pretty eager to get to Jack’s story.

Love love loved Katie. She’s smart and sassy and I love how she handles Jack. Jack is a great guy. He’s charming and loyal and doesn’t realize how fantastic he is. Together they have a whole lot of chemistry and a bunch of sweetness too.

Plot wise, it was a bit more drama-y and slightly darker than I was expecting, but it was easy to overlook because there was so much communication between Katie and Jack. I was so happy to see them talking as much as they did.

Overall, it was a quick read with characters I loved and a perfect epilogue. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Note: I’m not putting this on the rape shelf, as there isn’t a scene. However, some things are implied in a couple of conversations.

Love Tessa Bailey's couples.
They're always so intense. So hot!

This one is not an exception. This one was also really sweet.

Katie and Jack's chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS.
The sex was HAWT! and the dirty talking... aaaah the dirty talking.
Mrs Bailey's men are the kind of Alpha men that don't even try... They're just so charismatic.

So yeah. I LOVED this one. The story was very good. The MCs were very endearing and the love story was intense and beautiful.

I can't wait for Danika and Greer....

I’m gonna have to DNF this one at 85%. I am so bored by this book - I can’t keep going. The FMC in this was so very bland and one dimensional. A 25 year old red headed Irish virgin named Katie. I hoped for more from her, she was an Olympic gold medalist and sharp shooting instructor for the NYPD but my god she was weak and totally naive. The MMC was even worse, this guy had a rampant sex addiction, alcohol addiction and untreated ptsd from a sexual assault or gang rape. No trigger warnings on this one either. This dude had no business trying to start a relationship with anyone, he needed therapy, like yesterday. And with these heavy heavy topics at hand this book was mostly horny inner monologues of both characters. If your panties are that wet all the time, I’d suggest a visit to the doctor and a prescription for canestan.
The only thing these two have in their future is co-dependency. Why was the first instinct of this woman, after he confides in her about his sexual assault, to prove he’s not dirty by having unprotected shower sex with him? If that doesn’t spell co-dependency I don’t know what does. Putting your own health at risk, having sex with a sex addict who’s JUST started recovery for his alcoholism is a bad life choice in every way.
This book was badly done all around. This series may have aged itself. I think it’s from 2017, but it has not weathered the last five years well. Yet with all those problems it was boring back and forth obsessing in each character’s head. We were either hearing about their inner horny angst or reading descriptive sex scenes. Nothing else happened in this. Nothing.

Indecent Exposure is the quintessential story of the good girl and the bad boy. Katie is a gold medal Olympian, expert marksman, and virgin. Jack is a day drinker who grew up in a brothel and is only in the police academy so he can help keep his mom from having to go back to the brothel. He doesn't care about being good at his job. Really, he doesn't care about anything except sex.

You see the utter sadness in Jack's life pretty quick. I mean, growing up in the brothel is tragic, but even as an adult, he is still stifled by his past. Drinking to get through the day, sleeping around, and generally not caring about anything, his life is nothing anyone would want. He has a bit of a roguish charm though that makes everyone, including Katie, gravitate to him.

Katie might possibly be one of my favorite heroines. She is so very accessible, but yet she has achieved more than 99% of the population! However, you see this girl who achieved a dream she didn't have and mourns the loss of the dream she did. Katie doesn't hide behind coquettish flirting and coyness. She has unique interests and embraces them with a boldness that is admirable. Honestly, she is just incredibly winsome!

The beauty of the story is that I WANTED Jack to be worthy of Katie. Was I worried he wouldn't be? Yep. I was constantly waiting for him to let her down, because that is what HE expected of himself. Their relationship has hurdles: she is his instructor, she lives in another country, and she is only in New York for 2 weeks. So, the clock is ticking on their relationship from the beginning and that added some distress for me because I wanted these two to be happy!

Indecent Exposure provides the very sexy interactions fans of Bailey's writing expect. The real joy of the book, for me, was in the  intricate characters that stole my heart.

POV: dual 1st
Tears: no
Trope: opposites attract
Triggers: none
Series/Standalone: stand alone within an interconnected series (you can read these out of order and not feel like you missed anything!)
Cliffhanger:
HEA:

Cuffed by K. Bromberg, Follow Me Back by AL Jackson, So Over You by Kate Meader...then you will probably like Indecent Exposure!
