Cat Body Language: 100 Ways to Read Their Signals

Rate this book
Find out what your cat is thinking with a guide to the 100 most common feline behavioral traits!
From raking the dirt and kneading their paws to chattering their teeth at birds and meowing when you open a can of food, Cat Body Language looks at the postures cats adopt in and around the home, with other felines, and with their humans. Using animal psychology, it explains how cats generally react in stressful situations, such as during a visit to the vet, and features a whole section devoted to the cat’s most expressive body part: the tail. Beautiful photographs show you how to strengthen the bond with your pet by successfully interpreting its stresses and fears.

Really adorable book full of photos depicting cats' body language. I am very familiar with a lot of these:

"Hi, Mom!" (page 54) - kitten jumps and greets its human parents. I don't know about that, but my two guys do this to look around. We call it their "Meerkat Routine." BTW this cute kitten is a dead ringer for my boy Bailey.

"I'm much bigger than you think I am. No, really." (page 74) - another Bailey lookalike bowing up and bushing out.

"This is a great chill-out zone." (page 99) - a very relaxed orange tabby. Reminds me of our late tabby Buttons, who would roll around on his back on the patio, soaking up the sun.

The photos are gorgeous and the text is informative. This is a cute book, perfect as a gift for cat lovers.
