Bowregarde is a little mouse with a very long name and a big problem. All the other mice think he is big and scary because of his name. How can Bowregarde make friends? The theme of this book connects to what is happening in the world. The book Bowregarde is "A tale of a little mouse with a big name." Bowregarde was a tiny mouse with a big name. He could not make friends because of his name. Others were scared, and would run from him because of how big his name was. This made Bowregarde feel degraded. Bowregarde left his home and went on a journey to find some friends, and still embarked upon the same result; besides meeting one friend with a common plight. An owl gave them both advice to alter their names. My first thoughts were, "that was not very good advice." However, understanding that just like Bowregarde, others will judge you by what they hear about you. Even if it's big, good news. This could posibbly intimidate others to where one may have trouble making friends. We live in a world where people don't know how not to judge. With this being said the advice from the owl makes sense. Though I understand no-one should dim their light. One should remember the phrase "read the room." When going through life, be aware of the opinions and attitudes of the people you are around you. It will be much easier to become relatable, and easier to make friends, if that is what one desires.
