The book published by kalachuvadu publishing house is outstanding. This book was borrowed from nearby lending library and accidentally I got this book in my hand. Every page I could smell the blood that was spilt by tamil eelam people. The dispute between tamil eelam viduthalai puligal gang and srilankan govt have been for long. As far as I know from 1970s tamil eelam people were treated as minority group having lesser privileges on any govt provided services. This led to creation of viduthalai puligal which had supported tamil eelam people and also saved them from srilankan govt which or else would have orchestrated this genocide long before. This book not just assumes or supposes and gives out detail, it provides the letters that were discreetly produced from the known people or journalists or reporters. It has a good collection of the leaked documentaries that came out amidst rajapakse's suppression. Every event that happened had repercussion of another event. like viduthalai puligal group killed rajiv gandhi since DMK party had tried to have settlement with governing congress party and also central govt sent a troop "Indian peace keeping movement" which rather bringing peace did touch on sensitive things like buying karuna (senior leader in viduthalai puligal) to govt aid and harrassing tamil eelam women. The srilankan people who conducted genocide were supplied with arms and ammunitions not only from india also from russia, US, pakistan and etc. The one thing I wondered and worried about is, what have tamil eelam people have done to other countries. The places where mass massacre were carried out like vavunia, mullai vanam, kilinochi and yazhpanam killing more than 4 lakhs of innocent civilians in the name of terrorist group is seriously condemnable. srilankan govt had loosen the law and order to the extent where army force killed and shot "whateva that moved" way. Women were highly disrespected and forcibly made to involve in sex of abnormal ways. Many honest journalist like lasantha vikramanthungey) and reporters were killed or white van was followed which kidnapped a person and later killed them. There are few bullet points to be answered 1. How could srilankan govt can kill lakhs and lakhs of civilians claiming them to be terrorists. Even after killing them how could they say "Zero casuality civilian got killed" 2. Even this shameful genocide, how could the India in UN human rights violation meeting vote for "not to have any more discussion on this. Things have happ. Let's see what's next". Proper case should have been charged or team should have been set up to investigate the matter. 3. The camps set up by srilanka like "Nalan puri" how could they let people there to survive without providing food and water. I still remember a sentence saying "koneswari was made to have brutal sexual harrasment and after raping her, a small bomb was thrust into her vagina and made to explode. I cant stop crying.. This happ to someone who belongs to my cult 4. How come DMK party who were in power here dint take any step to stop this non sense. The tamil people who were last survivors had the last ray of hope. When the whole country is against us including India, how could tamil nadu govt stay calm just raising voices rather than any fruitful step to stop this genocide. 5. How could they use cluster bomb when it was banned by most of the countries. Really I wept through out the book. I am sure I couldnt come out of it. All I could possibly do is mourn for the death of our brothers and sisters. I understand the horrible pain my people underwent in camps and they were made to move like tribes. The camp they set up dint even have facility to defaecate. The camp was not any different than concentration camp set by hitler. I would like to finish this review in one thing. The srilankan govt think they successfully completed the mission killing all the tamil eelams. The destiny wouldnt be that way. Hitler couldnt completely wash away the jews. Still they survive and thrive. Likewise this will not be end. History will repeat. Hope they would remember chozhar invasion.
