Read this in about 2 hours on a road trip. Solid read! I appreciate the many different definitions from different groups of believers (from Reformers, to Catholics, to Evangelists, and of course, Pentecostals). The book gives a fair assessment on each of them, but also is clear on their stance for being baptized in the Holy Spirit. I personally will benefit from this book in a lot of ways. September 11th 2016 will mark as one of the most powerful days of my life, with my first moment of being baptized in the Spirit. That moment shifted something in me, and this book has a lot of perspectives and thoughts that I deeply resonate with. I highly recommend it, especially since it’s both objective and insightful. I also recommend reading it with an open heart and mind with a desire for unity in the Spirit on this essential movement of God in the Christian walk.

Final rating: 8/10, four stars.

Who is the Holy Spirit?, What does it mean to walk in His power ? and How do we prepare ourselves to receive Him.
Randy Clark through this book covers the various thoughts across denominations on the presence , purpose and power of the Holy Spirt . The use of church history and leaders who worked in the presence of the Holy Spirt opens our eyes to the truth that the real mission of Jesus beyond the cross was to fill His followers with the power of the Holy Spirt to live lives of holiness, mercy , justice and purpose.
A book one should read if your desire is to be filled by the power of the Holy Spirt to live a life proclaiming the Glory of God.

Short and Easy to Read

This is a short and easy to read sermon preached by Randy Clark on the need for the baptism in the Holy Spirit. It essentially urges believers to seek God for this experience.

Overall, not a bad read. It moves very quickly. Clark is passionate for you to ask God to fill you with His Spirit.

I have two complaints about the book. First, it needs more Scripture. Experiences will not keep us. God's Word is our true source for truth. Second, AW Tozer is said to be Dutch Reformed but he actually was Christian & Missionary Alliance (CMA).

Theology mixed with practicality

Good strong theological delve into the history of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament church.
Mixed with stories of "this is what happened to me".
As Leonard Ravenhill used to say "a man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument, because he will say 'but brother I lived it!'"

Pure excellence

This book was promoted on my book list at just the right time. Just before my own Baptism.
Whilst my friend shook violently I myself was steady as a rock but had a warm glowing feeling inside..
