3.5-4 stars. Very detailed and well-researched book on the long battle between conservationists dedicated to preserving the Indiana Dunes and industrialists eager to develop the area along the shores of Lake Michigan and take advantage of Midwestern steel markets. I would have liked to learn a little more on the positive effects of Bethlehem Steel on the people and town of Burns Harbor, but overall this was a good book chronicling the development of the area.
