This seems like a better volume! Thank God for some turn out of events but I must say MIRIA is a really great leader!!! She had a great power of influence and the way she assess things is really stupendous! However, I still find it confusing how will Clare ever come out in the situation she is currently in. I wish MIRIA will find some way to do it but seems reviving Clare will result to some miserable happenings again because of Priscilla. Still, I want her to come out though. :D

Claymore is a manga about Yoma who pretend to be human in order to kill and eat the humans. The Claymore are the hybrid of the two stronger faster but still human with the ability to slay the Yoma which they do for a price. They travel from village to village slaying Yoma with nothing but the sword on their back using the Yoma abilities but slowly turning into a monster that they hunt. When the time comes a Claymore will send a black card to another claymore to be slain before the Yoma takes over and so they die as a human.

In the 20th installment the girls are swarmed by yoma and awakened beings they assume the attack is because of Miria’s attack on the organization. Many of their home towns have been attacked by yoma and awakened beings let loose by the organization. Clare is locked into a ball of fleshy meat sealing away Priscilla for the time being. The only thing they can do is go after Miria but on the way they encounter other claymore warriors fighting against the overwhelming attacks of the male yoma. Banding together they just may have what it takes to stop the organization.

I like Clare she’s a sword carrying slayer who isn’t afraid to die charging in risking her life. She's grown a lot in the last several volumes leading up to the battle in the north. After faking her death along with her fellow claymore's she's returned after seven years to battle the Organization. While she may not be the strongest she's determined and unwilling to give up. She's one of those underdog characters you can't help liking. We've seen a little of Raki having grown up into a man who fights yoma he’s been captured by the organization. Clare and Priscilla have been trapped in a ball of flesh locking them both away from the others.

I’ve seen all of the episodes on Netflix a few years ago actually binge watched them over a long weekend. While it’s been a while I don’t think the anime has gone this far in the series. I don’t remember the girls taking on the organization which is where the story has turned. It’s interesting learning that the organization which has been creating claymores for a long time may not be the good guys after all. I love the concept for the Claymore the hybrids created using parts from the monsters that they have been created to fight against the Yoma that they created. The art is great it gives me just enough to create the story in my head as I read each detailed page. This is only my 2nd manga so I don’t have a lot to base on but I’m super addicted to them. They are perfect for when I have some downtime or when I feel like reading back to back. I already know that the ending is close as I’m about halfway done. I’m anxious to see how it’s all going to play out.

When you've thrown everything but the kitchen sink in the grand pool of monsters roaming across the land, when you have scary monsters, and then worse monsters, who are ruled over by creatures of the abyss, who can be taken down by weird, soulless things, which can be easily crushed by even bigger monsters - well, all you need then is zombies, I suppose.

I mean, they have some bodies of former really strong warriors lying about, surely then *can* be put to good use.

I'm kind of losing interest in the series. Where's clare? I can't tell who is who everyone looks so similar.

4/5 After Miria fails in her attack on The Organization they retaliate by sending awakens ones to attack Robona. The defenders there are overwhelmed until Deneve and the remainder of the force that was in the South return.

After that they band together to head towards The Organization to help Miria. Leaving. Cocoon housing Priscilla and Clare behind to be watched by Galatea, Clarice, and Miata.

The group assists another batch of Claymores who then join them to attack an Organization facility used to create Male Awakened Beings that they use to manipulate cities.

Everything is coming to a head at the Organization Base. Volume 21 is looking good. I just wish they’d stop introducing cookie cutter Claymores. The cast is large enough.

Anastasia and her team fighting the male awakened beings on the cover of Volume 20.

All is forgiven now, Norihiro Yagi! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

With an ending like that, honestly, who cares what else happens in Claymore: Demon's Claw Remains, Vol. 20?! This is just damn exciting.

The holy city of Rabona is besieged by a horde of Awakened Beings. Galatea and Tabitha desperately defend the city with the help of Clarice and Miata (I nearly forgot about this creepy duo with the mommy issues). Just when it looks like Rabona may be lost to the monsters, the Seven swoop in to save the day. Dietrich's and Yuma's interventions are the most exciting.

My fondness for Dietrich and Yuma continues to grow with every volume. Dietrich's integrity and Yuma's big heart makes them irresistibly endearing. Plus, they're seriously badass warriors. What's not to love?

There are two mysteries in this volume that I cannot wait to uncover. The first is how Raki survived the parasitic yoma attacks and how in the world it relates to the hand found in his body(??). The second puzzle that I can't wait to figure out is if Clare and Priscilla are now a hybrid monstrosity like Luciela/Rafaela (aka The Destroyer).

This volume also introduces exciting new Claymore characters. In the northern mountains, this group of Claymores is attacked by half-men/half-yoma monsters. Led by Number 7, Winged Anastasia, they hold their own until they're surrounded by the Awakened Beings. Yet again, Dietrich makes a dramatic entrance and assists the Claymores in taking down the beasts. The other Seven also help to kick some serious bootay, but it is Dietrich and Yuma who stand out again.

I am really digging this new group of Claymores. Anastasia is gorgeous and a killing machine. Nike is highly spirited and reminds me a lot of Helen. I think the merging of the Seven and this new group will make one helluva unstoppable team. I can't wait for them to meet up with Miria.

The skin-tingling ending has me giddy with excitement for the next volume. I am so glad that I have the next book at the ready. Otherwise, every minute would feel like torture until I got my grubby paws on Volume 21. Can't wait to see Miria kick some Organization ass!

"We learned it by seeing with our eyes, hearing with our ears, and feeling through our blades."

Not only does volume 20 directly continue an arc started in volume 19 the series is filled with layered storylines going all the way back to the beginning. This is not the place to start reading.

Phantoms of the Heart (parts 3-4) returns the warriors from the Western battle to Rabona, as we discover the fallout from both Miria's choice to leave and Clare's fight with the Destroyer and Priscilla. This is a step down in pace from recent events, but a breather was needed and a lot of needed information is filled in as we prepare for their assault on the Organization.

Remains of the Demon Claw (complete: parts 1-4) follows Deneve's team through the mountains towards the Organization's headquarters. Along the way they encounter some high ranking current warriors with interesting powers battling awakened ones. Word of their approach brings interesting preparations from the Organization, with the twisted scientist Dae given reign to unleash his most monstrous experiments yet. The twist that ends this volume is another completely unexpected masterstroke by Yagi. Logical but totally surprising and a severe manipulation on what we thought we knew.

Volume 20 slows a tad after the climactic Ashes of Lautrec arc, but there is still plenty of action and the closing hook ensures our next major battle is just moments away.

The rebellion starts fully. Helen and Deneve manage to recruit new people while destroying an Organization's awakened-ones spawning center, while we find out the story of how Raki was abandoned by Priscilla. The Organization wants to bring to life three former #1s, and when they see that the rebels destroy the Organization's center, they send all their fighting power against them. But there's a surprise there.

Second reading: I admit, it was a complete surprise to see the final slide. Such a twist, such a lovely twist. I am not sure if she actually meant that to happen, but I guess that's one way to start a rebellion. Great, powerful twist.

Today's post is on Claymore volume 20: Remains of the Dead Claws by Norihiro Yagi. It is the twentieth the long running Claymore series, you need to have read the first nineteen volumes to understand the story. It is 191 pages long and is published by Shonen Jump Advanced. The cover has some of our heroes surrounded by awakened beings. The intended reader is someone who likes dark plots, high action, and strong female characters. There is mild foul language, no sexuality, and lots of violence in this book. The story is told from third person close of the main character. There Be Spoilers Ahead.

From the back of the book- Rebel Claymores Deneve, Helen, and Yuma return to the Holy City of Rabona and find it under attack by Yoma hordes. An all-out battle ensues, after which Galatea informs the recently returned Claymores about Miria's solitary and likely doomed quest to bring down the Organization. As Helen and Deneve investigate in separate assays, it becomes clear that the Organization is creating novel and terrifying breeds of Yoma warriors.

Review- Clare is gone, she and what was left of Priscilla are sealed up together and we do not see anything of them in this volume. Most of the volume is about the others fighting in Rabona from an attack of many yoma and awakening beings. The Organization has decided to move against the city and the Claymores hiding there. Miria's fate is left in the balance until the end of the volume and we see that the Claymores still working for the Organization did not kill her. All the Claymores are in rebellion to the Organization now because they have done too much and pushed too far. It has been proven that the Organization is making the yoma and releasing them onto the countryside to kill innocent people. Everything is winding down to end game and I am very curious about what is going on the sphere that has both Clare and Priscilla.

I give this volume a Four out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.

How the fuck did they carry that mass to the Holy City lmao. Also, I'm guessing this is break time from Clare lol
the girls are badasses, I knew they couldn't just turn a blind eye when they saw the other Claymores in danger. I love how now they are almost specialized in killing awakened beings.
I'm glad they brought us back to the early volumes of Teresa talking to her hooded figure about what they do to the villages that don't pay after a Claymore has saved their town.
Omg, yaaas Miria is alive, although far-fetched, with her turning the present Claymores against the Organization. I love it!

Really enjoyed the ending of this volume, can't say much without entering spoiler territory but I'm very excited to see how this series wraps up! The action scenes continue to be stunning and the plot develops at a pace that keeps me thinking about all these different mysterious aspects

So the reason claymore rebel against the organization is because they're so often sent to death or to do unsavoury things. So the organization sends more claymores after them. And these new claymores see the rebels doing heroic shit while the organizations keeps sending the claymores to death or to do unsavoury things. So now the claymores are like hmmm maybe the rebels are right. So the organization sends more claymores to fight the rebels, and so on and so on.

Oh and they're like yeah let's nuke ourselves whatever. Make more bad guys. Screw it. What even IS their purpose in the first place???

I think Miria has been undeniably one of the most (if not the most) likable character in the manga. She's smart. A great leader. But I have to be honest that the first time she was shown, I couldn't feel a sort of connection to her. I thought she was too perfect. But this specific volume made me appreciate her. No one could ever imitate her impact and the influence she brought her fellow warriors. Only Miria. I now consider her as one of my favorites. Maybe top 5.

I am also fascinated by Anastasia's character. It's time to end the era of egoistic and prideful single-digit's.

Low risks, low reward. Everyone in this series can now heal themselves or their comrades to a point where they can restore lost limbs in what seems seconds. No one dies in this series anymore. You only think they will since characters are put into impossible situations where they should normally die, but they don't. Why? I'm not sure. At this point, it feels like none of the good guys die anymore, even though they should be dying even more now since they're facing an impossible threat. But who knows- maybe that will change in the next few volumes.

Its an odd thing.

I keep reading these and I'm really not feeling the progression. Partly, sure, its because it seems like we do a thing, make a decision then we undo that decision. Particularly as it pertains to character deaths.

What's even more perplexing is now it feels like we have more characters than ever and we're refusing to let them die. Maybe that comes later. But its odd for a series at the start made no bones about killing characters when it served a purpose, now I just need them to kill some off to free up some mental real estate.

This continues to be entertaining. I really love the development of Deneve, Helen, Cynthia, Tabitha and Yuma, the warriors of the north, but I feel now Clare and Raki have became side characters and we still didn’t get to see their reunion.

!!Spoilers!!
I’m really glad that Miria is still alive because she has become my favorite. Also, I like how she managed to influence the new warriors with her great leadership, and how she seemed to have opened their eyes to reality. However, I still don’t like the fact that she fell for that trick and survived only by pure luck.
