Rate this book
This is the second learning capsule in the instant learning series. Each learning capsule consists of 12 mini sessions on the subject, and each mini session takes 5 minutes to go through and understand.

Because time is a premium, each learning capsule contains only the essentials of the subject. If you take a 5 days full time course on the same subject, after 3 months of the training, probably all you will remember is what is included in the learning capsules. If you already know the subject, you can read these to brush up your knowledge. If you are new to the subject, then reading this will give you a strong foundation on the subject, and the ability to get started with applying them. You can probe more using many available resources in the internet to get additional knowledge or understanding on need basis.
Instructional design models are frameworks for creating quality training. This book explains some of the most relevant models of instructional design. You do not need any pre-requisite knowledge for understanding the content in this book.

In addition to ID models, this book also covers the fundamental principles of adult learning. You will learn how to use these principles to design impactful training programs. The adult learning principles covered here are based on industry standards and proven best practices. Understanding those principles will help you to align your training programs with the needs of your adult learners. This book also explains the three approaches to adult learning and four stages in which adult learning happens. Throughout the book, the focus is on designing active learning experiences instead of passive learning. The book ends with pointing out some common instruction design pitfalls and how to avoid them.

Throughout the book the focus is on how you can apply various ID models and adult learning principles to obtain the learning outcome.
