Interesting

Not my usual read, but I liked it. It is different sci-fi. Maybe because it a sci first romance written by a woman. This is looking to be a good series. Recommended

I am a die hard paranormal fan that being said , I've read many books but I have to say Naberius blew me away!! I Loved the daimon soldiers. The fact that jess thought he was Danish was hilarious. The action scenes are awesome, the storyline is great and the chemistry between Jess and Naberius off the charts. This is the first book I've read by this author and it will certainly not be the last. Once I picked up this book I literally was transported into this amazing world and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next book.

I would say this book for me was a 3.5*. I hadn't read this author before and the blurb intrigued me so I wanted to give it a go.
I think it is definitely worth a read. It could have been edited better. There were missing words, wrong words used, extra words used etc. Which meant I had to keep rereading sentences to make sure I understood.
I wasn't really keen on Jessalyn. She got angry at him for keeping certain secrets that he kept to protect himself and his kind. Keeping in mind she works for the government to find threats so I thought this was reasonable until he trusted her. She got angry because he showed his alternative form "in the shadows so she didn't see it properly". She saw the form properly, got upset and asked him not to approach her. He took it as rejection, made worse that when she got injured she went into cardiac arrest every time he went near. Guess what? She got mad because he put her health first and left especially as he thought he has been rejected anyway.
I thought Naberius did it the right way, they had just met, it was a lot to take in, he did not want to scare her, he did not really have time to tell her everything and he was worried he was killing her.
That is just my thoughts about her, I am sure she was stressed and scared and upset and this affected how she reacted but I did feel sorry for Naberius as he just couldn't win. Saying this though, her reaction was absolutely perfect when she found out he was a Daimon. She grabbed a taser! This did make me chuckle.
I dont get why Naberius told Jessalyn to run "as a distraction", it kept her away from him so if she got in trouble, as proven by the story, she was too far away to protect. I would have kept her close.
The plot for me was slow, not really a lot happened and once the main fight was done it kept going. Add in the fact the fights were done by Jessalyn's point of view who was busy running away I think doing those scenes from Naberius' point of view would have been better.
However I did love the concept of the books, it would have been interesting to learn more about the Daimons and how they came about etc.
I love Naberius, Gusion and Maelcom. Great trio and very distinctive characters. Gusion was definitely a favourite and made me laugh.
Overall I think people should read it if only to make their own decision about it. It isn't a long book and it is something different! I think I would carry on the series as I would like to read Maelcom and Gusion's happy endings.

A great book!

I really liked how Daimons originally came from our side of the Gate, although I didn't like how they were hunted. Naberius is so sure he's broken. Jesslyn is normally afraid of big men, but for some reason she's not so much the Daimons. There's suspense, murder, plots, mischief and mayhem. A great read!

If you like Daimons and romance, this is the book for you. Naberius is strong and handsome and he fights and falls in love in the way that only Daimons can. A good read from a new romance author with potential for a trilogy.

Stop what you're reading and put this at the top of the stack! Action, adventure, twists and turns, and of course, sweet romance. It's a really great read and a real page turner. Kate has a really nice style that creates likable characters and hate able villains too, she's got a real gift.

Can't wait to catch up with the characters on their next adventure nor can I wait to see the story on the big screen! Bravo!
