Young Billionaires #3

The Billionaire Muse

Rate this book
When a mysterious woman moves in next-door to Mason, he’s intrigued and even tempted to abandon his solitary life, but could there be something more sinister going on with the woman who fills his late-night fantasies?

Mason Pressfield liked his quiet, solitary, ordered life. So why was his new neighbour getting under his skin? And what the hell were those strange noises coming from her apartment in the middle of the night?

Abby Sutherland liked her anonymity, and a quiet, unobtrusive neighbour was exactly what she needed. She had a secret and the last thing she needed was a nosy neighbour butting in and trying to find all the skeletons in her closet.

This is a standalone sexy billionaire romance - no cliff-hanger!

I am a business owner, artist, cook, mother and wife. I live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia with my wonderful husband, two beautiful sons, a dog and a cat (both of which are female because, hey, we needed to balance all that testosterone!)

I am a ferocious reader with eclectic tastes and have always wanted to write, but never had the opportunity due to one reason or another (excuses, really) until finally taking the bullet between my teeth in 2014 and just making myself do it.

I love to write stories with heart and a message and believe in strong female characters who do not necessarily have to be aggressive to show their strength.

FINALLY MASON STORY!
and I was not disappointed. Love him from beginning to end and the chemistry he had with Abby.
His storyline was something I wasn't expecting at all and I love how Abigail made him overcome the scars leave by his past.

Some things in the storyline felt like they didn't make sense at all and that is why I'm giving 3 stars, but I really enjoyed the book, and that is a lot to say since I don't like books with BDSM in them.

very good read book 3

This is book 3. Each book is its own story, but if your really want to know the characters correctly, then read in order. You will easily connect to all the characters.
Overview: Mason had a dark past and was still recovering from child abuse. I was a self millionaire by making video games and owning a huge software company. While working on his latest game at home, he hear weird sound coming from the apartment next door. The place had been empty for a year so he was surprised someone finally moved in. Peaking out the door, he was greeted by a beautiful girl dressed casually dragging something in black garage bags down stairs and to the lift/ elevator. Abby was use to working at night. It’s when she does her best work as a crime/ horror author. She was using a pen name so no one knew she was a New York Times best selling author for A. A. Abernathy. Abby started using Mason as a Muse for her next book and her butcher was now going to be a top detective (he is in every book since he supplies her pigs to dismember for crime scenes in her books). But both Mason and Abby have struggled from their past family issues and end up helping each other and finding love. Until the trust is unbroken. Will they be able to over come their pasts and build a future.

It was by far the most intense book of the series. Darker, with a Dom/Sub theme that's not my style but a deeper, emotionally scarring background in both main characters. And they're both very interesting - a game designer who works at night and a girl with a secret profession whose odd activities make her suspicious. They're an odd match, that's obvious, but also right for each other. Except neither one is convinced of it.

Mason has issues with his past that affect him and his social life - he has none, if not counting his closest friends. He also has major problems with physical touching which makes his sex life interesting, to say the least. Abby is not untouched by her own childhood experiences and has trouble accepting herself as she is.

They're really intense together but perfect. I'd have probably given it 5 stars if not for the BDSM-Dom/Sub theme that is something I like only in a mild form, the unofficial, none-titled one.

Not for me I’m afraid. If I’d known there was BDSM in it I wouldn’t have bought it. Still I gave it a good try, I understand what the author was trying to do by explaining why people want that and how it suits some people, but at one point when the 'hero' forbid the MC to do something I found myself saying "oh just F off" out loud. Not what I want to feel about the characters in a romance.

This is the third book I’ve read from this author and I enjoyed the other two, this one just isn’t for me. I didn’t like either character to be honest. However that is purely a personal point of view, I simply don’t get domination/submission. If that’s your cup of tea then you may enjoy this.

It won’t put me off reading more of this author's work but I’ll do a bit more digging beforehand to make sure this isn’t a trend.

Mason & Abby

Mason grew up being physically abused by his mother and witnessing his mother murder his father. Abby was left orphaned and went to live with her verbally abusive aunt. Mason finally escaped his mother when he went to college, Abby's aunt died when she was 16 and she was finally free to begin her life. This is a story of 2 broken people who find each other and although it was a slow buildup they fall in love but lead a slightly unconventional lifestyle that suits them. Absolutely love this story!

Oh the emotional ride...

Whilst I am loving this series this story had slightly darker undertones, addressing the effects of both childhood trauma, with physical and mental abuse in the Male protagonist, and childhood trauma and emotional abuse in the Female protagonist.
Whilst dark and emotionally upsetting at times Emma Lea offsets these moments beautifully with balance, love, with, growth and acceptance.
A beautiful story to read.

MC is a fucking pushover: "i'm not like other girls i'm sorry i'm not a feminist" ok tf??? doesn't mean that you run back when the fucking guy snaps???? the bitch fucking chokes you but y'all just have sex right after???? what the fuck. i'm only reading for the apparent gold digger book. a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do

I like the story of Mason and Abbie. It has a darker, BDSM theme, but it fits. Mason is a man who doesn't like to be touched due to the childhood traumas that still haunt him. He lives at night, and when he meets his neighbor Abbie, who acts mysteriously and tries to hide her true profession.
I found this story beautiful. Good balance between the sexy and steamy parts and the deeply emotional journey into healing the soul.

A very good read!

What a pleasure to read a well crafted book that is not in American English and the over used phrases that seem to be in much of their writing.

Loved the characters and the twists in the plot. Thank you Emma! I read it in one long sitting and now have gritty eyes!

This book was absolutely fantastic!!! I love Mason and Abby. They each have such a huge secret so it's hard to guess how it will turn out when they are revealed. These characters are like my family now and I can't wait to read the next book!!!

One of my favorite books of the year. Abby & Mason have a one of a kind relationship & it’s so sweet it should be made by Hershey’s…with a little Special Dark thrown in.

This series is becoming one of my favorites.

This is a great book and little different from the others in the series as it is based on kink and is an introduction to a vanilla dom and sub relationship.

This series is scorching hot. This is the 3rd book and probably my favorite of the series because I absolutely love the protagonist, Abby Sutherland. I kept finding similarities between myself and her which is what got me hooked and wanting more. And the connection she has with Mason is different than what you find in most romance novels. They both delt with a horrible past and finding each other really changed their perspective on not only love but life in general. Add a bit of dominant/submissive play and you got The Billionaire Muse.

💛💛💛

Mason and Abby were awesome! I knew that these to were meant to be. I loved that they both had this mystery about them. They definitely just clicked. So happy that Mason found his other half! 🥰
