Sure, I do other stuff but mostly I’m a writer. I get up early in the morning and work at my kitchen table with a steaming hot cup of tea. Sometimes I listen to brain.fm to help me focus. Sometimes I use a timer and write in sprints. Sometimes I don’t do any of that and listen to the chatter of the birds in my back yard while I dive into a scene. Whatever I do, I sit my ass in the chair every day and write.
I have a wife. She’s the inspiration for all of my sexy heroines. She’s the crème de la crème. She’s my favorite love story. She’s my queen.
I’m also a mother. I have a son that I adore more than anything in the world. He’s the best thing I ever did, by far, and his amazing sense of fun and adventure keeps me wanting to explore.
I’m a musician. I used to play in a band. I’m a computer geek, I love cooking, tasting delicious craft beers and being outside. I love where I live, on the beautiful West Coast of Canada where it’s temperate in all sorts of ways.
Giselle Fox is my pen name. Having a pen name puts a little separation between real life and fiction. And since my stories are always spicy, that separation is a good thing. Giselle is the creative part of me. She gets me out of bed every morning, she cracks the whip when I want to flake out on the couch and watch Netflix. She makes me pay attention to people and circumstances and ask questions so I can write. Having an alter ego is great. You should try it, if you haven’t already.

The stuff of romance books and fantasies, ooh wee, so glad I took everyone’s recs to heart and picked out this series to read. So while it’s gloomy and -10° here, I’m mentally far away in Panama living a world wind affair with a sexy bartender, steaming up windows, tents, and batgirl costumes. But as others mentioned, there’s also an undertow of deeper meaning throughout the book.

When Cate heads down to visit her former college roommate, she stands at a crossroads in her life. A discontent permeates her being and the longing for something, anything really, to give her escape, weighs on her. Going from her gray colored life in Chicago to the color spewed adventures in an exotic land with the mysterious Lexi is so achingly an awakening that there are surreal scenes that make it all seem like a dream. I kept thinking, now here’s a storyteller.

Perfect ending. On to Book 2.

I fell for the good reviews and decided to give this a go, but can't say I'm a fan, and realize I am the minority here. Why I had a hard time with this one was how juvenile the dialogue was and how immature the characters were portrayed. The MCs are in their late 30's yet phrases like "Nuh uh!" come out. Literally. When's the last time you heard "Nuh uh?" Your 5 year old nephew? Hey me too.

And the infidelity from a few of the characters..... Grody to the max. "I already have an uncommitted boyfriend, the last thing I need is a woman that can't make up her mind." Read this again. WHAT IS SHE EVEN TALKING ABOUT. Is she that self-involved that she cannot see how hypocritical that line is? I don't care how unhappy she was in her relationship, an adult would break up with him before testing the waters. But Cate didn't, nor did her friend Alice. I don't like cheating.

"You don't need a new friend, you have me." pouted her 30 something year old friend. Is she 9? EVERYONE HAS ROOM FOR NEW FRIENDS.

I apologize if I sound nit picky, and I'm not trying to be mean, but with these kind of gaps I couldn't suspend reality to even enjoy a light story. I would have been all over this if I was 16 and just discovering my sexuality, but when the characters are decidedly way older than that, I couldn't merge them with their dialogue and it threw off the whole vibe of the book. The ending was very rushed and rather unbelievable, and the twist at the end didn't even phase me. It was an insta-love story without either MC truly knowing one another.

The setting was lovely, the environments well detailed, and I literally felt humid and sweaty much of the time due to the descriptions of the extreme heat! I think the author is talented and can write, but I couldn't get over the stumbling blocks. :(

A good starting book

This is a pretty good startong book for the series. We are intoduced to Cate (the book is told by her) and Lexi (the "holiday fling"). The chemistry between the two characters is very believable and the overall story was enjoyable. I dont want to reveal anything so i cant say much more. But, i will say the last chapter coild have been saved for the next book...it just felt a little of place in the overall book. I think it would have been great just ending Cate returning back to Chicago. Itll make more sense after you read it. Anyway, free on kindle and a good read. I recommend it

This is one romance where you won't predict the ending! As the story began I really liked the author's style of writing. The main character, Cate, arrives in Panama looking for adventure with a friend she hasn't seen in ten years only to find this friend unhappy and stuck to a schedule of drinking to the wee hours, sleeping late and then doing it again. She meets another woman who is exciting and lives and breathes adventure. Her friend and the other ex-patriots continue on with their sedentary nocturnal lifestyle. Cate left her boyfriend without a care, why would she stay with this crowd?

I have to admit reading at the end the main character was in her late thirties surprised me greatly as her performance in the story was mid-twenties to me.

I enjoyed the first half or so of this story, with Cate meeting Lexi, having said adventures and also finding mutual attraction. The second half of the story with the will Cate and Lexi get together or not became wearisome. The ending... nothing I can say without being a spoiler. It's a surprise.

3.5 stars rounded up.

Enjoyable, entertaining but ultimately unresolved.

Not sure if the ending was designed to get you to buy the next book, but I wanted the ending to be neater and as I got closer to the back of the book i could tell that this wasn't going to be the case.

Hey ho, I'll obviously have to shell out more money to get to the conclusion, as opposed to the chapter epilogue.

The writing was excellent, pacing and plot spot on so all in all a good read. Pity about the ending.

book one of the sun catcher trilogy

A fun and romantic start to what ends up being a cozy thriller/caper story line that very slowly develops over the three books. It's a thin thread that ties the three books together and gives us the story/romance of each of the Duke family triplets. Book one has the strongest romance so far and is my fav book so far as well. I am half way thru the third book and am looking forward to finally finding out what the heck the trilogy as been leading up to as far the big heist at the end. I am also looking forward to getting to see all three sisters on screen together. It should be a good time.

This author has really become one of my faves. This book is the beginning of a series it seems. I can't wait for the sequel! One of the things I love about this author is her use of unusual and romantic settings. This time the backdrop was Panama. The romance was nice. The chemistry was hot.
Solid read.

Surprised

When I started this book I thought it was a summer holiday fling book that ended in a perfect romance, and it was with a little twist in the end. Not bad at all, I'm keeping my eye on this author.

My review is not going to add much to the previous ones. If you haven’t read this book, you’re in for a treat. I’m on my way to book 2 and already plan to buy the 3rd one.

In enjoyed this as it stands but I will have to read the second one (and then probably the third). I'm hovering between three and four stars: four because I enjoyed the characters and their interaction and three because of the ending. I'm hoping book two keeps it at four.

For her holidays, Cate travels to Panama to meet an old friend she hasn’t seen for many years. She wants some carefree time and is looking for some adventures. And she needs time to decide what she want’s to do with her boyfriend, who doesn’t seem really invested in the relationship anymore, like she’s too.

In Panama she finds her unhappy friend, who is drinking way too much nearly every evening with her friends. And she meets Lexi, the beautiful, sexy and adventurous neighbor. They spend some time together and have a lot of fun. The sparks are flying and she wants more from Lexi than just friendship. But Lexi is reluctant to give in. She has some secrets she doesn’t tell. But she can’t resist successful and they have a hot affair.

The story is exciting, the sex scenes are hot and I liked the main characters and their interactions. The chemistry was there. What I didn’t liked was the ending, and I mean, just the last few pages, but I suspect, it’s because there is the next book. It was a little bit too rushed. I want to know more, so I have to read the second one. Well done Giselle Fox.

I like this series and I will continue to read.
My rating 4 stars.

I'm so tempted to give up on this series but I'm to stubborn (and curious) to actually do so.

The first 1/3 of the book I found to be a little slow. Though the author did a great job setting up the beautiful tropical scenery, I still found myself skimming a little. The main characters had good chemistry but it was not enough to overlook the huge dose of Insta-Love that was present.

I also can't seem to understand Cate's behavior towards the end of the book.

Fingers crossed books 2 and 3 will be a better reading experience and hopefully not have a unsatisfying ending like this book. This get's a 3.4* rating.

This books was a fun to read.

So the characters really don't have whole lot of death to them. The story is pretty nice, some of it was predictable and I was antisipating it while I was reading but there was a bigger plot twist that I didn't see coming. What I did really liked was the adventures and the overall surroundings, I felt like I was in that storm and in the humid heat. Absolutely loved that aspect.

Overall the MC are well written and I had no issue connecting, although as mentioned in other reviews the dialogues are not always age aproppiate, but it didn't bother me too much.

The ending felt a bit fast and I kept hoping for an epilogue. May be they will show up in the following books.

On a side note:

There is cheating involed, which in an ideal world wouldn't happen. But life can be messy and I don't quite see why it's so frowned apon as part of a plot. Yea, of course it shouldn't be over used as a storytelling tool. But don't we all know at least on person IRL who has done it or was affected by it?

Is it possible to hate one of Giselle Fox's book I don't think so.
It was yet again an awesome story even if at the end I was quite mad with Cate for what she did but all ends as always, it's one of the thing I love the most when reading this author's book we know it will always end happily.
Well I guess my next book is the next one.
I recommend this book obviously 😌

Desire for adventure starts an adventure in desire

The storyline was a uniquely different take on the typical girl-meets-girl narrative with characters that were easy to connect, relate, ally & endear to.

The entertaining & enjoyable story has some intriguing & interesting likeable characters who give us several hot scenes to enjoy.

Eagerly anticipating what the next book in the series will bring to the story of Cate & Lexi.

Description was great but the story in itself was pretty vague. Some parts were too detailed and the necessary parts were left unaddressed. Like hello? Someone randomly enters your room while you’re on a totally different continent after 6 months and you’re going to be perfectly chill about it?
I really wish the end was written better and more elaborately.

I think Giselle Fox always has great chemistry between her characters and this book is no exception. It says in the description that this is Book 1 and obviously there needs to be a second. As I got closer to the end I was thinking "how can she resolve this in a few more pages?" Well, she can't and this ending just leaves everything up in the air. So, Giselle, I'm going to need you to hurry up with the next book, okay? Right, okay.

Where to begin?

I ended up reading this book because I was soooo in love with 'Slow Burn in Tuscany", another Giselle Fox´s book.
The synopsis of this one (Sun Catcher book 1) wasn´t something that made me interesting, but I gave it a shot anyway.

The writting is excelent. The details and the way that the plot is told, is great. But (and here comes a lot of "buts")... If it hadn´t had so many sex scenes (which are extremily hot and explicit - good job and well done), this book could pass as an YA. EASILY.
I should have read this book when I was 15 years old. I would freak out. But now? In my late 20s? No. Sorry.

I can´t buy Cate´s relationship with her boyfriend; I can´t buy Cate´s friendship with Alice; I can´t buy HOW BORING ALL the support characters are; and I can´t buy Lexi´s job and her YOLO life . I didn't like the story as a whole

I´m sorry, but, another spoiler ahead:
That nonsense ending took out on me.

However, I just wanna point that I became a Giselle Fox’s fan and I´m gonna give another try for the second book of the serie.
So you, dear reader, who came all the way here, don´t give up. We´re in this together.

Interesting read

Here we have Care hard working and dating a boring guy who doesn't want to do anything with her because he's engrossed in his work. (Typical manchild wants to play with is games). So she embarks on a trip that turns out to be life changing when she meets her friends neighbors.
I soooo enjoyed this love story and can't wait for the next book. Honestly loved it.

Oh Wowww!

Mmhmm WOW INDEED !!! Let me sum this up quickly... I have Kindle Unlimited, which means this book was free for me to read. But not even half way through it I knew that I would be buying it ! And when I finished it I did because for one this is a keeper. Two this woman knows how to write and not just about us lesbians. Honestly I end up buying every book that she writes. Her writing style is awesome. Stories are believable, great plots and emotions run the gambit. Characters are fleshed out perfectly. Last and obviously best in my opinion are the sex / lovemaking scenes - DELICIOUS AND HOT !!!

Loved it.....

I was so engrossed in this book. The story was written beautifully and I couldn't put it down. There is mystery, deception and wondering if there is more to life. There is also the raw emotion of love and loss, but realizing love can happen when you least expect it. While reading the story it was as if I could picture what Panama looked like. I can't wait for the next part coming. I am interested in how the love story will progress between Cate and Lexi, now that Cate knows the truth.

Adventurous, daring, captivating and erotic story with unexpected events. Beautifully written, intriguing and charming. Cate went to visit her friend in Panama, but when she met Lexi, everything changed, and while they explore the tropical city, between mountains, rivers and rainforest and warm sheets they discovered and learned to love. Their affair is sensual, intense an uncertain, you find want to miss reading the sun catcher........I definitely recommend it.....I'm a fan of Giselle Fox...... incredibly talented...

Terrific!

Giselle simply get better with each book she writes. I liked that all of the characters in this book were flawed in some way, and I liked the way she began this love story.

It's May; maybe I won't have to wait too long for the next part of the story!

Rounded up to 4 stars because the outdoor settings in Panama were so wonderful. Nice romance. My only complaint is that I wound up knowing more about the setting and the locations than I do about the characters. I am hoping that is because this is just book one.
