“I love you,” he said with a smile on his lips. And then his eyes snapped open, flashing green. A radiating white blur shot out from between his shoulders, smashing everything within reach. I was thrown to the ground by the force of it and something hard hit my head. The last thing I saw was Adam’s shape against the white radiating light that seemed to have its source inside him...

When 18 year old Claire Gabriel meets Adam, her life takes a drastic turn. He seems to have stepped right out of a fairy tale and he is beautiful – more than anything. On the way to discovering his secret, Claire soon finds herself in love with the mysterious boy.

Unable to evade the dark shadow their feelings for each other draw up, Claire becomes a target in the the eternal war between good and evil; because Adam isn’t the only mysterious creature hovering around Claire . . .

DNF around 75% through. Bummer.
I just couldn’t bring myself to finish this book. Absolutely nothing happened in the first 100+ pages of the story...literally. There wasn’t even a whole lot of world building to make up for that lag. Even after Claire met Adam it went nowhere fast. Then by the flip of a page they’re madly in love with just a few cryptic words between them?! I mean I know it’s fiction but there was absolutely no connection or chemistry between the two! It felt very contrived to say the least. In fact the whole story did. Claire was an immature 18 yr old and not very evolved or like-able IMO. When you don’t really care what happens next, then it is definitely a sign you should be reading something else.

Finished it!!!! I stayed up all night to finish this book. At first I was a little skeptical, this books goes on for chapters about everything that goes on in the main character’s life and does not get to the plot. I was close to putting it down. Right when I was ready to give up, the author surprises you and the whole book takes a twist. Let me tell you, the ending of the book is not expected! Then the very last chapter of the book was a game changer, now I have to order the next book! However, overall I did as everyone else and only gave it a 3 out of 5.

First off this book is truly captivating. Once I started I did not want to stop. The characters are so strong and mysterious, that it keeps you hooked from the first page. It really brings out many feelings, I laughed and cried reading this book. Now with that being said, there are many things in this book that confused me. The characters, backgrounds and information, always seemed to leave something extra that left me questioning many things. But I do hope to have my answers within the next two books in the trilogy. I really do not want to give anything away with my review because I feel that the added mystery really makes it all the more better of a read. I really love this book, and cannot wait for the next in the series. Check it out, you will not regret it!

Disclaimer: I was a beta reader, who was able to read the book during the editing process, this in no way altered my review. I have provided an unbiased, honest review.

I was challenged by a friend to read at least one #YA (Young Adult) book as a "bucket-list" thing to do. Surprisingly, I have gotten really absorbed within the book from the very beginning. I really like how this story unfolds and I am enjoying the characters. I look forward to finishing this book and for the remaining books in this trilogy to be published.

A Must-read for the fantasy genre!

White (The Wings Trilogy Book 1) by Angelina J. Steffort (Author)

Things are not always as they appear to be. In this captivating fantasy, you will meet very realistic characters, captivated between bad and good. This is a passionate romance which is worth the read.

To start, this book was intriguing and very captivating. It’s been a while since I can say I’ve picked up a book that I could really get into and get excited about. Once I got started I couldn’t put it down. I only wished I had more time in my day to read. The characters, backgrounds locations all felt real, and vividly described. The feelings and emotions impressively well put together and eloquently structured. I was swept off my feet, glued to the pages at each romantic paragraph. In fact, I wanted to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate at a certain location, but I really don’t want to give away anything with my review.
I loved the chemistry between the characters Claire and Adam. The bond and love they shared, their heartache, and the struggles they had to overcome. There where moments I found myself thinking, why are they doing that? Like a silly person who yells at the movie characters in a film, “Are you crazy?—Don’t go in there!”
The story took me through so many emotions, I cried, laughed, and was angry, and even felt great loss and heartache. I was both surprised and amazed, but the emotion I mostly enjoyed was the great and powerful romance Claire and Adam both shared. In fact, I only wish there had been more to read. I’m dying for the next book in the trilogy.

With Claire's parents gone, she is uprooted and moves to Aurora with her sister. Here, she finds a new fascination with graveyards and prefers to spend her time there. This is where she meets the good-looking Adam.

There's something mysterious about Adam and it only draws Claire in closer. They have a connection that neither can explain, but it isn't instant love which I really liked. But Adam's has secrets that put Claire's life at risk. A secret that involves an old war between demons and angels.

WHITE is a captivating story with intriguing fantasy elements. I loved Adam's character and how he always has Claire's best interests in mind. I thought the way events unfolded were well written and sucked me into the plot.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of angels and fantasy with that addition of romance and mystery. It was an original take on angels and I appreciated that.

I find it ironic that the writer wrote in the story that the protagonist had to stop reading a book borrowed from a friend because she found the main character in that book annoying which is exactly how I feel. I was willing to forgive the mundane everyday filler content but couldn't forgive the protagonist's mood swings. Maybe I just come from a family of mild tempered females, but even in the throes of puberty I did not snap as suddenly or as furiously as the protagonist does. The character personalities are stereotypical and the dialogue sounds like it was written by a teenager, and not in a good way. It's hard to get into a book in which the main character makes you want to never have children.

I really liked the book. It was a nice story a different kind of angel book than I’ve read. Adam Learning he’s an angel. Falling inlove with Claire. I will say the story is a little long and taking too long for things to happen. The ending I was like omg no way!!!! I’m still trying to figure out why Ben is so mean towards Claire and hope that gets explained a little better. And I don’t understand why no one is questioning why Claire has a guardian angel? Why he saves her all the time from trouble or death. Is she an angel as well? So many questions I need answers and u better believe I will reas the next book!!!

White is a thoroughly entertaining tale of Good vs Evil. Claire and Adam are two young adults living ordinary lives. When they meet, Claire unknowingly becomes a catalyst between the forces of good and evil. People and events are not always what they appear to be. The ending came as a complete shock! I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Sigh, I really really wanted to like White, but in the end, it was not a book for me. Insta-love, immature & questionable behavior, plus what appears to be 4 possible love interests for just one girl-- not very appealing.

I did enjoy the settings (those were well written) and a few side characters, but it was not enough to make up for the rest of the book.

Claire Gabriel has been through a lot. After losing her parents, her sister gains custody of her . Being held back in high school, she attends school as an 18 year old and has developed a routine. she also visits a random grave at the cemetery since she can't visit her parents' grave. There she meets Adam. He's this mysterious, dark, brooding College kid and Claire can't help but feel attracted to him, even though she also feels off. But we are going to ignore that since he is handsome and closed-off. after their second meeting, she invites Adam to her house. A few meetings later, they finally have their first date and kiss when Claire realizes she's in love with Adam...the same Adam that she's only met a handful of times. Oh and he's in Love with her too. All while her friend is crushing on her as well.

This is where I drew the line.

I got 30% through the book and ultimately decided that I couldn't finish the book. 30% done and the only plot introduced was Claire's love life. Was there even a legit fantastical plotline in this YA FANTASY, I don't know.

This might be a good book for teenagers and teens but if the main character is 18yrs with multiple college going characters (including the love interest) I would expect the content to be NA, at the very least.

I have been written this so many times that I think I'm just going to leave a short review and then move on.

I didn't feel connected to this book. I thought I would. Because I tend to like Angel stories. However this one just didn't grasp me. I felt lost a lot of the time. And not lost as in I got into the story and I got lost as in the feeling. I got lost because I didn't understand what was happening.

The animosity that Ben shows towards Claire was unexplained. So right off the bat that lost me.

The absolute craziness of Gregory is not explained. Again lost.

The unexplained acceptance of Jaden by Adam was completely lost on me. Again lost.

I just don't think this series is going to be for me. Which sucks because part of me wants to read the next book but I saw how long it is and that deterred me. So I think I'm going to end the series here.

Romantic and suspenseful. A total page turner and compulsive reading. Romantics will cheer on Claire and Adam’s impossible love just the way they hoped Anastasia and Christian’s relationship would prevail in Fifty Shades. However White is sweeter in tone and is set in a fascinating story world, where we wonder - what would it be like to fall in love with an Angel? The town of Aurora is an intriguing backdrop for the story and the characters are people you like. I’m looking forward to part 2.

W but different but a really great read!

I was undecided at first as to whether I'd like the differences the author used about angels and demons (from other series along the same genre) but, after the first 2 chapters I was into this story. Loved the idea of angels feeling their souls mate even tho that person hasn't been met as yet. Also, the idea of a supernatural who seems a bit vulnerable is somehow appealing to me.
So much so that I bought the 2nd in this series immediately after finishing this one. I recommend giving this book a read.

SUCH A GOOD BOOK!!!!

I came across this via a social media ad and thought it sounded good. I am so glad I gave it a try. Claire is an average girl, going to school and hanging with her friends when she meets a really cute guy while at the cemetery. After a few false starts, they end up together and that’s where the story really begins. I can’t wait to start the second book, and am going to have to force myself not to start it tonight (11:15pm) so I’m not overly tired at work tomorrow.

Excellent Angels and Demons story

I would have given this a 5 star but I felt the beginning was sort of drawn out in the first chapter, then I continued and started liking the story more. I did like the characters and the story line. I felt this could have been more and I am hoping it is in the 2nd book. A different type of Angels and Demons book and worth reading.

Slow beginning, but then...

...it became un-put-down-able! Great cliffhanger!
Protagonist is rather immature, whiny, and selfish in the beginning despite the tragedy she faced. But, she is probably a reflection of us all in some way. I did enjoy the second half of the book and will continue the series.

I was totally captivated by the world that unfolds in this wonderful novel which starts off in such an ordinary, normal setting and then continues on to quite literally grow wings. I'm already looking forward to the sequels to be able to immerse myself once more in Claire's universe!

White is the next book to read

The story starts slows the build up is really good. This book is about Angel and Human love. It has highs and lows. At times it was so unfair on how much emotional pain and loss the main character Claire had to deal with

Sweet, romantic, epic. Heartbreaking

I loved it, though despaired at the ending. Like the protagonist, I was in denial up to the end, then it was over. UNTIL I was left with a sprinkling of hope!

I'd honestly give this a 3.5, but I'm rounding up. I really enjoyed the premise of this story. There were some elements I would change, some extra editing wouldn't hurt, but overall I enjoyed it and will read the next!
