An eighteen year old boy who loves the magical bayou, loses his parents and a developer is trying to buy him out. Sebastian always saw the magic of the bayou, including a handsome merman who would tease him and splash him, but never allowed the adults to see him. One day the merman grabbed him and pulled him into the water and when Sebastian screamed, he swam off and he has not been seen in the last 10 years. Sebastian goes down to the dock to throw rocks and nearly hits the merman who tormented him as a child, and he asks Sebastian why he is crying. He says his parents just died and when the merman left. he lost his only friend when the merman left, everyone thought he was the poor weird kid. He yells at the merman for never showing himself to his parents and the day he dragged him into the water. The merman, Pascale tells him he couldn't show himself to adults, who would hunt his kind down and that he left because he thought Sebastian hated him when he screamed while he was trying to show him the world from his viewpoint. Pascale pulls himself up onto the dock and pleasures Sebastian to show him how much he really cares for him. The only way to save the bayou from the developer is to see the witch of the bayou, who says that the cost is Pascale's immortality and it will guarantee the bayou will not be bought up and built on. Sebastian loves the bayou and Pascale. Will he let Pascale sacrifice himself to save the bayou, or will he try something else to protect the two things he loves?
