His body was perfection. He was also rude, domineering, arrogant, and, quite frankly, an a**h***. I hated a**h****. I didn’t hate Michael. Michael Murphy. My boss. My nemesis. Middle son of a crime family. That last part should bother me more, but between running Michael’s hotel, dealing with his arrogance and temper, and trying not to melt under his domineering kisses, my hands are full. But I’ve got it under control. Or at least I think so until things start happening. Little accidents that keep getting bigger, big enough that Michael is convinced I’m in danger. He says he’ll protect me, and I believe him. The real question can anything protect my heart?
Bossman, Michael Murphy was rude but boy did he make up for it in book 2, "Reap" with his feisty general manager, Eden. Opposites attract with this sharp-tonge couple from page one to the ending of this exciting tale. It's funny how his brothers knew Michael had the hots for Eden even though he didn't want to admit it. Eden always professional, courteous and respectful of everyone yet she two had a crush on Michael that with one kiss by the brooding Murphy of course started an unexplained attraction for this "oil and water" couple.
Then strange things (killings, equipment being sabotaged, etc.) begin happening at M. Hotel and Lounge and you see the story begins to line up with a setup of sorts against Michael and Eden.
So if you like a dominant alpha who can be arrogant, bossy, rude and controlling but caring, supportive and possessive to Eden then you will get a kick out of "Reap."
Can't wait to read bad boy Sean and compliant, Grace's story because yes this is another unlikely couple! DeClan's story will be a must too.
BTW: In "Reap" there is more information about the illegal or organized crime aspects in the Murphy's businesses but M. Hotel and Lounge is clean!
Eden has been working at his hotel longer that he’s owned it. Michael doesn’t tolerate anything other than perfection and she ruins it by defying his orders. She’s not about to let him ruin something great.
Wow! A lot more suspense and mystery than I was anticipating. I love the enemies to lovers and workplace romance tropes. Eden definitely gives as good as she gets and Michael definitely needs that to keep him level headed. Super cute romance!
Another great book by Kaye Blue. I really did enjoy this book. Every heated argument between Micheal and Eden had me cracking up, especially when the fact was clear that they had feelings for each other. Lol this was like a typical boy/girl who likes each other but cover it up with a fight or pulling of a ponytail.
Another thing I liked about this book is that we were able to see more about Eden & Micheal’s chemistry rather mostly about the treat (psychopath). I must say that my heart was in my throat lol when I almost thought there was no hope for Micheal. That would have really soured my mood. I would hope or think everyone is asking this question “when will the boys be able to deliver the punishment to their father that he deserves?”
Nevertheless, I’m excited to read the next book in this series. So far so good for books 1&2. Let’s see what book 3 has in store
Keeps you reading to see what will happen. Didn’t guess the bad guy which I always do. Micheal and Eden have an interesting relationship. Fine line between love and hate.
I enjoyed Michael and Eden's story. There was more action and the book read at a faster pace than book 1. However, my continual negative about these stories by this author is that there is always way more narration than there is dialogue between the couples. Instead of just getting intimate why are the couples not getting to know each other on a deeper level? This aside a good read otherwise.
Not much depth, character development or suspense in this book. A lot of missed opportunities here for providing insights into the characters and creating an interesting romantic suspense tale. The interracial angle was irrelevant and not highlighted except in the initial description of Eden and once or twice as Michael described the smoothness of her brown skin.
Michael, the youngest brother in the Murphy Irish mob family has quietly been attracted to the general manager of his hotel. He likes that she challenges and defies him. Eden is doing the same with Michael, her handsome hotel owner who is bossy, protective and intimidating. There is no setup to their romance just that in the middle of an argument Michael grabs Eden and kisses her. Then it's back to them avoiding each other as they work. This idiotic cycle goes on throughout most of the book. This doesn't count as much of a romance.
To create suspense and danger Eden's coworker attempts to frame Michael for a series of crimes, including a few murders. The motive was beyond stupid, the plot poorly developed, the end of the book rushed.
I never cared about Michael or Eden, didn't feel that there was any chemistry between them, and was disappointed that the author spent so little time developing this story and these two characters.Inserting Michael's revengful father and mother with Alzheimer's was supposed to contribute to our understanding of his reliance on force and need to prove he is tough. It fell flat.
After reading the first two books of what will be a 4 book series I think I'll skip the other installments.
A beautiful continuation of Book 1. I didn't think Michael could have a soft side and I'm honestly glad you didn't change his basic character. Maybe in books to come we will see a softer version of him. His chemistry with Eden was sweet to see and this mystery man has me on edge.
In this second installment of the series the writer gives a full accounting of this excitable couple. The story begins with chemistry and it carries throughout the story. We are once again thrown into the lives of the Murphy family, and we like it. This story is not only doused in sexiness but with a kirky humor but a mystery as well. The smoothness as which the story flows ,makes for a story that doesn't have a dull moment. My only problem is as close as these brothers are I would have loved to have seen more of Patrick and Nya. I think a little more family interaction would have been a nice touch. But overall this was a good story ,effortlessly flowed from page to page.
I loved Michael and Eden!! Right from the beginning I enjoyed the vibe between them. That coworker/enemy thing they have going on is quite entertaining. But that finally turns into something else, and maybe they could enjoy it if everything around them wasn't falling apart. Trouble seems to follow this family but the Murphy men can definitely handle it. Very sexy, very fun, exciting read. I am eagerly waiting to see who's next and to catch up with Pat and Michael. I'm loving this series so far!
Michael finds himself in almost losing everything to him; what sets out as only Michael setting out to sleep with Eden so that he could show her that he got to her, turned into alot of bad things happening. I'm glad that enough throughout everything that was going on you got to see the bond the brothers had with each other and that they would do anything to protect themselves and what they consider to be theirs. There were so mistakes throughout the story.
What a great story. Lots of action of 4 brother's who had a rough upbringing but still had scruples and yet were in the Irish Mafia. As a love relationship was slowly blooming between Michael and Eden something very sinister was going on. A worthwhile read. Thank you, Kaye Blue
I'm loving this series and I appreciate not having to wait forever before I find out what is happening next what I like about this series is how love can be shown without words a touch a look just being there my goodness I definitely recommend!!
Things are starting to get very interesting. I can't wait to find out who the guy is in prison. I'd like to see a better friendship develop between the 2 women. Living this type of lifestyles they need to be there for each other and lean on each other
I loved the way Ms Blue tells a story. Michael was the alpha male. I love the way Eden always never back down. Gerald was a sad vindictive man. Thank you Ms Blue for sharing.
I tried but this book was sooooooooooo BORING!!!!!!!! Nothing happened, I felt no connection to the main characters. There story was so dry and bland that I gave up at the 64% mark. This was my first book by the author, cant say I will be picking up another book of hers. Very disappointed
So the first book took started a little slow , then picked up speed. Now Blue pushes the read full steam ahead! The author lays out a life totally gone to destruction.
Once again Kaye Blue has got me hooked on another one of her series. This series had me from book one and I can't wait to find out who is behind it all. I love her books and I can't wait for the next book. I have fallen in love with the Murphy brothers they are not what you except but all you would want.
