I'm not super enjoying where this Arc is going but it wasn't a bad volume

4.5/5 stars. This was another great addition to the Black Butler series. I love the direction in which this arc is going. I loved how this volume kept me on the edge of my seat. I adored the bonus chapter at the end. The ending has left me hanging and wanting more. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

همچنان همون سیر meh رو داره دنبال میکنه، و اگه نمیدونستم در اینده چی قراره بشه احتمالا بیشتر حوصلم سر میرفت. اما از جلد قبلی خیلی بهتره بود باز، هنوز هم موقعیتهای کمدی خوبی میسازه البته اما داستان کلی یه کم گیر کرده. بخشی از سوالا جواب داده شدن و یه سوال مهم مونده کی نخها رو میکشه؟

For the 10th anniversary (at the time of publishing chapter 120 of this volume), we have been given what is possible the epitome of a volume of Black Butler.
On one hand, we have the smattering of sexy fan service. We have beloved characters forced into fairly ridiculous and unlikely scenarios. We have K-Pop in Victorian London 😂
But we ALSO have commentary on contemporary stan and idol culture. We have a view towards the act that goes into marketability, the tricks employed to gain business and money. We have a look at the stratification of society. We have a slightly fantastical take on the very real history of science beginning to understand the mechanics of blood transfusion. We have beautiful artwork and costume design. We have an absolutely heartbreaking piece of fight choreography in chapter 117.
And we have a gut punch of a recap of the last ten years of story in chapter 120.
I'm not sure if it's because of or in spite of it all, but I adore Black Butler.

In their quest to discover what’s really going on at the all-too-popular music hall, Ciel and Sebastian decide to fight fire with fire, and recruit their own boy band. (Yep, it’s as weird as it sounds.)
This is probably one of my most favorite volumes so far, mostly because there are some really choice illustrations of my boyfriend, er, Sebastian in here. *hearteyes*

Note: I know, it hasn't technically been released as a book yet. The physical book in being released in in October. But I'm not rating a book I haven't actually read. I have a manga reader app I downloaded that lets me read almost any manga I want for free. The scans and translations absolutely suck compared to the beautiful work yen press does, but it's still "black butler".
I was planning on waiting for the book to come out to keep reading. but I kinda got a spoiler earlier today, so I HAD to keep reading. I had to know the truth.
You guys understand, yes? :)
Anyway! I loved this. So mysterious! & Lizzie is secretly so bad ass. XD but mostly, this volume was just hilarious and adorable. I squealed so many times. I absolutely fucking adore Ciel and Bassy and Soma with every fiber of my being.
I wasn't totally sure about this whole "boy band" arch to start with. But like my other less enjoyed arches, this one has grown on me. This is just to fucking great.
The art is great as always. I just love the stories and characters and everything about this series.
Except Grell and the undertaker. They are annoying. Everyone else loves them. I do not.
My most favorite manga ever. I have 4 posters in my house, 2 plush toys and a whole shelf dedicated to displaying my black butler volumes to prove it. :)

Waw. Ce manga est absolument incroyable. Il est envoûtant, magnifique, addictif, j'aime ceci très fort. On parle aussi de manière détourné de révolution dans le domaine des sciences (ici la transfusion sanguine) et c'est absolument passionnant.
Le chapitre bonus de ce tome est absolument sublime et émouvant <3

Lanjutan kasus sekte aneh plus grup idol yg lebih aneh lagi. Lizzy juga sedang aneh-anehnya.

C.115 - C.120 Como siempre, tengo demasiado que decir cada que leo un nuevo volumen de Black Butler, siempre trato de no hacerlo tan largo pero no me sale a comparación de otras reseñas jaja se intentó pero no se pudo...
C.115 - En serio me interesa saber más sobre los Shinigamis, y como es que se organiza y funciona todo para ellos.
Entonces sí que están muriendo por la pérdida de sangre, aunque me pregunto que tanta les sacan como para que a los forenses les hayan tomado tiempo notar la falta de sangre en los cuerpos al revisar y prepararlos…
Todo eso sobre la financiación realmente me recuerda a Undertaker y la Sociedad de la Aurora. Los P4 son las personas con más mala suerte que he visto aquí. No se si son conscientes de que están siendo manipulados, o siquiera que está muriendo gente por quitarles la sangre…
Violet!! no quiero que se muera por la pérdida de sangre, quiero seguir viéndolo trolear a la gente haciendoles hacer poses pero dibujando otra cosa. El amo de la luz de Sirius, Violet y Ciel el mismo tipo de sangre o... ¿Y Lizzie? ¿Hay algo en que ella sea Canopus?
Canopus: es la más brillante de la constelación de Carina y la segunda más brillante del cielo nocturno tras Sirio, pero eso no significa que Canopus sea la más débil de las dos. Trae al nativo fama, buena o mala; ascensos marciales, problemas domésticos o familiares. Esto sin duda estaba bastante planeado por Yana...
C.116 - Al menos ahora se sabe que Sr. Bravat est�� detrás de cada show, parece ser quién está al mando aunque probablemente alguien más sea el verdadero “Jefe”
Nina y sus comentarios despectivos hacia Sebastian jaja amo.
¿Como que las Grandes Estrellas no son los S4? Las manifestaciones físicas de las cuatro estrellas… Entonces Lizzie es Amo Canopus, si eso es cierto, ¿quienes son Vega y Polaris?
Nina se veía tan feliz y cooperativa hasta que noto que era con Sebastian, y Ciel dejándola vestirlo como le plazca a contra de lo que el dice jaja. Diría que pobre Sebastian siendo la muñeca de Nina, pero no hay duda de que así como Ciel está disfrutando ver a Nina vestir e insultar a Sebastian constantemente, yo igual… sus caras jaja aunque el fanservice estuvo ahí.
¿¿¡LIZZIE!?? Me encanto la expresión de Lizzie al final, me da que se dio cuenta que Sebastian es un demonio.
C.117 - Ver a Lizzie pelear es magnífico, realmente no se llega a mostrar mucho de eso en sus pocas apariciones luego del Arco del Atlántico. Lamentablemente su oponente es Sebastian…
“Yo por una vez, no puedo regresar a ese lado” Es sobre tener que fingir ser alguien infantil?
Sebastian llega a la habitación donde están unos laboratorios, y las muestras de sangre, y sólo hay dos frascos de Sirius que sólo puedo suponer que es la de Ciel y probablemente Violet.
Cada habitación es distinta, la primera parece haber alguién y si no fuera por que no se pueden ver bien las ventanas mientras que la tercera con peluches es claro que se trata de la habitación de Lizzie. Pero aquellas dos faltantes, siendo la cuarta la más desordenada y hasta con tablas en las ventanas…
Lizzie ha vuelto a escapar… lo supe desde que vi que la dejaron sin supervisión ni nada.
C.118 - La ilustración del inicio de Sebastian con los peluches, La frase que dijo Lizzie durante la pelea con Sebastian es claramente importante, pero aún no puedo estar segura de exactamente a que se refiere…
Agni y Soma son bien cute, son un sol…
Ay dios, cuando pareció tener una idea no pensé que fuera eso, y con los ahora prefectos que regresan junto a Soma… No puedo con las poses y las caras.
Incluyó todas sus empresas, incluyendo la de juguetes, curry, dulces… al final cayeron en su propia trampa, el marketing experto vs. novato jaja
C.119 - Clayton anduvo ciego todo el tiempo ay no, pobre comprendo el fastidio jaja Ahora entiendo eso de las personalidades que traían antes...
Uy no, las lecciones de Sebastian son horribles, jaja todos están tensos, Soma le tiene miedo a Sebastian pero Harcourt tan emocionado, teniendo en cuenta que lo sacó de ese hueco donde lo metieron, parece honrado de que le enseñe.
Pero qué vieron mis ojitos jajaja lo más chistoso es que se supone que es Edward el que lo aprenda y no Soma jajaja Ciel como siempre acechado

Me encanta cuando habla y explica Sullivan, me recuerda a mí. Soy igual de emocionada y curiosa, cuanto más sé más quiero saber. Ya sabiendo todo, se entiende mejor que la razón de tanta sangre la demanda de él es alta y la oferta es bajísima por eso tanta gente muerta. Yana es realmente increíble.
Y los Shinigamis al final, buscando al responsable de todo… Ahora todo es aún más serio de lo que parecía en un inicio…
C.120 - El capítulo especial por los 10 años. Me hizo llorar las partes en las que se ve las imágenes de los padres de Ciel antes de la tragedia, me trae nostalgia y un poco de pena.
Ciel viendo todo lo vivido al observar la luces de las velas, la muerte de Madam Red, el circo, el barco, la escuela, la bruja verde... Todo lo que ha recorrido en la búsqueda de su venganza…
La escena con Undertaker tomando la mano de alguien, y Lizzie viendo por la ventana, ahora que ya se sabe un poco más su razón de no querer irse…

Two things:
1. Seb's outfit-picking scene= A+
2. The dance performance. THE DANCE PERFORMANCE.
I did not recognize half of the characters! I thought the young boy was Ciel and the dark-haired one Sebastian, but I was blindsided! aLSO: THE PHANTOM FIVE. I died, man. I legit just fell in a heap on the floor and cried. It was beautiful.
Additionally, I love seeing Ciel in the zone. Basically, when he's f**king people over. He's just so cocky and smart, I love that little devil cake.
One random thought: Why is Lizzie so intense? Why is she working for the bad guys? Does she hate Ciel now? Why did they keep her? Most people love the Blue Cult or whatever those Sphere Music Hall people are called, but they don't STAY THERE FOREVER. The hell is Lizzie up to?

For me, this series peaked during the zombies on the Titanic story arc, and this J-pop idols storyline is the latest in a series of very ho-hum adventures that make me wonder if it is time to stop reading. I guess I'll see how this one ends next volume and decide.

Ciel and Sebastian catch a glimpse of what’s going on behind the scenes at the Sphere Music Hall, thanks to Hopkins. Once he’s there, Sebastian confronts an armed Lizzie with a sword. The queen’s guard dog is getting an idea of the sinister purpose hidden beneath the hall’s public face of spiritualism, music, and togetherness, but how is Ciel to stop it without causing a riot among its devotees? Especially since Lizzie appears to be one of them? And who are the mysterious ‘stars’ whom no one has ever seen? What is this radiance Violet is required to give to ‘Lord Sirius’? Why are the Grim Reapers concerned with what’s going on at the music hall? I have a theory about this, different than my previous one. I’m not saying anything about it in case I’m right. :)
The art work was particularly striking in this volume. The cover captured Violet’s seductive, sinister beauty to perfection…it’s one of my favorites. More familar faces from Weston College made an appearance in this volume, only they showed a very different face in this story. Some characters revealed hidden talents while Ciel displayed his lack of fear to fight fire with fire in the methods he chooses to counter Blavat. Hopkins turns out to have a long, ancestral connection to the Phantomhives while Abberline gets a chance to work with Ciel for the first time (in the manga). Lizzie’s actions remain a mystery, yet I’m starting to guess about the nature of the four named for the stars. Othello is turning out to be almost as interesting a Reaper as Grell. A sub arc is developing around the Grim Reapers, moving in tandem with the main ongoing storyline. I’m curious to see how that turns out. In the meantime, Sebastian gets a starling change of clothes, thanks to Hopkins, to sneak around the Sphere Music Hall in. He continues to be a devil of a butler, dodging swords, relating his observations gathered on humanity over the centuries, and executing his master’s plans with flair…although he delegates a bit more in this book. For all of these things, I give this four stars.

A sub arc is developing around the Grim Reapers, moving in tandem with the main ongoing storyline. I’m curious to see how that turns out. In the meantime, Sebastian gets a starling change of clothes, thanks to Hopkins, to sneak around the Sphere Music Hall in. He continues to be a devil of a butler, dodging swords, relating his observations gathered on humanity over the centuries, and executing his master’s plans with flair…although he delegates a bit more in this book. For all of these things, I give this four stars.

Je suppose que vous n'avez pas oublié l'engouement que les « Toubi Truie » suscitèrent sur les jeunes filles pré-pubères ?
D'ailleurs, en 2001, ma cousine m'aurait incendié grave sa mère si j'avais écorché le nom de ses 2Be3 chéris !
Là, si vous n'avez pas lu les tomes 23 et 24 de Black Butler, vous ne comprenez pourquoi je vous cause de ces boys-band en intro de chronique.
Pas de panique, je ne refais pas ma crise d'adolescence, mais vu que cette enquête de Ciel Phantomhive et de son diable de majordome concerne un groupe musical qui fait un tabac et qui ensorcèle les gens au point que ça en devient louche et dangereux car derrière ces 4 bô chanteurs charismatique, se cache un gourou pompeur de sang.
Non, non, non, pas de vampires dans cette aventure, mais un sordide histoire de prélèvement sanguin réalisé à l'insu du plein gré des gens.
L'enquête progresse bien, on en apprend un peu plus sur le mystère de la classification des prélèvements de sang, mais on ne sait toujours pas comment le gourou tient certaines personnes sous sa coupe au point qu'ils ne peuvent le quitter.
Mais Ciel est aidé de son diable de majordome et ensemble, ils vont arriver à retourner la situation, tels des maestros du show-biz, puisque, si on veut récupérer les fans des Toubi Truie, il suffit de créer les Worlds Patate !
Vivement le prochain que sache tout sur cette affaire sanguine !

Oh, I like this plotline! A great deal in fact! The kpop references are just piling on!
Because now Ciel and Sebastian start a kpop boyband of their own to concur out the other one that is being the faces of the cult! AHA HA HA HA HA!!! So these new boys, also taken from the same boys school, have to go through rigorous training, very much reminding us off the training kpop idols have to live through IRL. All of this just adds to my amusement with this.
But what about the plot? Dear Lizzie, Ciel’s fiance, is not coming back. She’s clearly been brainwashed by this cult. They try to get her back, but she just runs right back to the cult again.
And the cult in question clearly has something to do with blood and blood transfusions… At this point in time, Victorian England, very much an experimental practice. Somehow this cult has come up with a way to make it work. But why? That is the question right now.
I thought I knew who the leader was. That fortune teller, Blavat Sky, but I wonder… I’m starting to have my doubts. Seems as if we’ve just scratched the surface of what this cult is up to.
The kpop references notwithstanding, I must say I really like this plot with the blood-collecting cult the most so far! (Apart from when we saw how Ciel and Sebastian met, because damn…)

Sometimes it's just fun to enjoy morally gray stories.
Black Butler is a dark and stylistic tale of revenge seeking and the lengths one will go when they have nothing left to lose. Set in the backdrop of Victorian England this series actually fits in the detective genre with it's very young protagonist working to solve mysteries with his not so normal butler and house servants. Aside from the main mystery, Ciel also works for the Queen of England, policing the underground element of society. What should be a dark and depressing story is actually surprisingly light and even comical at times. Thanks to a whole cast of colorful fleshed out characters, a surprisingly inventive setting and plot points that seem to come out of no where, I'm still reading the manga to this day as each chapter comes out, excited to see what crazy story line is coming next and how it'll be resolved with Ciel and Sebastian's unorthodox methods. That's not to say this series is perfect, there is one very large glaring flaw that I will get into shortly.

Ciel has Sebastian pretend to be part of Nina's entourage (Nina is the Phantomhive family seamstress) so that he can search the music hall. Sebastian finds and brings back Lizzie, as well as blood collection equipment and bottles of labeled blood (Polaris, Vega, Canopus, Sirius). Unfortunately, he doesn't find the "Names of the Stars" The bonus inside illustration and Black Butler AU: "Black Dealer." There's also a bonus manga, "On a Special Day: The Butler, Lyrical," in which the Phantomhive manor celebrates Halloween in English, American, and Japanese ways.
This arc hasn't really appealed to me, and this volume hasn't changed my mind. Still, it was fun seeing Sebastian forced to try on a bunch of trendy outfits, and Ciel's
There was also a subplot involving Grelle and Othello (a reaper from Forensics) investigating the deaths from blood loss. Still meh.
The bonus comic wasn't terribly interesting, although the Japanese "lantern festival" panels were amazing. Toboso's artwork is lovely.

La cita viene del especial escrito por la autora para celebrar los diez años de la cabecera y con el que finaliza este volumen. No es el culmen de lo original, pero ha unido la celebración con la fiesta de turno (Halloween en esta ocasión) para hacer un rápido y pertinente resumen de los diferentes arcos argumentales. Por cierto, que este nuevo arco (boy bands aparte) está siendo bastante interesante y me gusta que la autora haya dado más protagonismo al personaje que mejor ha evolucionado durante estos años: Elisabeth"
