While the plot wasn't too bad, it did have the tendency to stumble a bit and not flow as smoothly. The last few chapters was enjoyable but I found it a bit lacking in the setup towards that ending.

This is a review I wrote in 1992. I just found it again in an old book-diary that I used to keep.

Nice mixture of science fiction and cops. Brackett belongs to the Star Police, Precinct 107, which is a starship patroling planets that have no law-enforcement.
They get called to investigate a beserk robot and two murders, connected with the richest human in the known universe.

The book was nicely written for the first in a series. Nothing really demanding, but entertaining.
