ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third book in the Issued to a Bride series.
The five Reed sisters have always lived in Two Willow Ranch. Their
beloved mother passed when they were teenagers.
Their father, the General, unable to cope with the loss of his wife, never visited the ranch again.
The sisters spent the next eleven years trying to shake off every restriction the General put on them from afar, including the men he’d sent to run the cattle operation on his wife’s ranch and the women he’d sent to finish raising them.
Now the sisters are all grown up and the General could not send guardians to watch over them anymore. So he is, surreptitiously, sending husbands
To this end, he created a special cross- branch task force, handpicking five military men.
The General's plot is working. Two sisters are already married.
This time is Jo, the youngest, turn.
All the sisters have peculiar gifts.
Jo has a way with animals and she can sense people's emotions. And yet she let her latest boyfriend, a drug dealer delinquent, use her. Like her sisters, she is resilient but not very wise about men. Hunter is strong, committed to friends and family, protective and mature.
For the first time in his life, when he meets Jo, he feels a strong connection to a woman.
I liked this couple and the way they were able to open their hearts to each other, to trust and to love, forgiving mistakes and misunderstandings.
Cora Seton has depicted a great cast of believable characters. I like all the sisters. They are strong, capable women. The plot is well developed and well paced.
The supernatural element is interesting and not overplayed.
I am really looking forward to the next book!
