Frank "Mac" MacMillan has literally been to hell and back. He wouldn't be standing watching the rain in New Orleans, if it hadn't been for a member of REAPER saving his ass in Syria. His body was healed, but his mind still took him back to his personal hell every night. He wasn't fit for humanity, so then why was he thinking about the dark haired Cajun beauty that he knew he couldn't have?
Rachelle Robicheaux had survived something so horrible and so vicious, she had spent the last ten years of her life trying to move on. Then she saw Mac at her brother's wedding and couldn't take her eyes of him. But he had the audacity to ask her brother for permission to dance with her. What the hell!? Now she couldn't get him to even look at her. Well, that was about to change. Get ready for some Cajun, Yankee boy.
Thank you for reading my bio and my books! I live and work in Dallas, TX. I'm the mother of two amazing daughters and two fantastic, intelligent grandsons, with one more on the way, and a wonderful son-in-law. I love to cook, travel, and write, but I'm also an avid reader. Being from a military family, my books often center around strong, military men but I also LOVE strong, independent, intelligent women. Visit my webpage at insatiableink.squarespace.com and leave your comments or ideas for future books. Enjoy!
This one hit different due to Rachelle and Mac's past, what happened to them and how they survived. I thought it made perfect sense that these 2 ended up together, because who better could understand what they went through, than someone who was there. I loved how Mac gave Rach all the reassurance she needed, when ever she needed it. They moved slow, but it worked for them.
The other happenings in the book were both great and horrible! Horrible what Alex when through, but great in that she was found by REAPER and has Gaspar at her back through out everything. I liked the spark that happened between the two and loved that both allowed things to happen.
The ending broke my heart! I'm glad that the bad guy got caught, but hate the price that was paid. I'm sure this will effect the team for a long time.
Each book just keep getting better and better. Ms Kennedy wrote both Alex and Rach rapes in a way that was not disgusting to read , even more so with Mac's. She wrote them in away that even though horrific but with understanding of the violence behind it. REAPER security is getting bigger. Gaspar Robicheaux and his crew excel just like the orginal team. Rach falls in love with Mac .... Alex with Gaspar. Moma Irene might have 15 children but now she at least has 50 with enough love for everyone. Yes Gaspar was Alex hero but the real hero in this book was young Tony. The letter he wrote explain it all Family
Another great story and I truly enjoy reading how this team members bond so well with each other and this new team members that are set up in Louisiana that include the Robicheax family. So sad what both Rachelle and Alex endured 10 years apart, but they are true heroes and survivors. Mac is part of this team and fell in love with Rachelle and then when Alex was found, Gaspar another Robicheax fell in love with her. I am just going to add my own opinion of this story : If you have ever been raped or brutalized in your life, PLEASE think before you read this book, so it doesn't trigger any unnecessary heartache. Happy reading.
The worst has happened to both Rachele Robicheaux and Frank MacMillan. When they meet, they are drawn together. Both are honest enough to own up to their traumatic pasts, and it makes their relationship stronger. Another facet of this book is the criminal who has been attacking women for many years and is back in New Orleans again. The REAPER teams vow to stop him, especially after a young REAPER finds a survivor. The young woman, tiny, blonde, and badly mutilated, becomes a touchstone for all of the family, especially Gaspar. there is sadness here, as well as a reckoning. Tears may fall as the reader passes through this story.
Two stories for the price of one. This book has SA triggers so reader beware. Good continuation to the series but this book was overlong and had their not been so many individual stories within this book it could have been shorter.
Spoiler Alert: I thought the character ending at the close of our story was completely unnecessary. The amount of time invested into that character and then nothing? This plot device was necessary to make another character react? Or more likely we have added so many characters to this series we need to thin out the page time. Other than this it was a good story and adding to the new branch of the southern Reaper family.

I won't put a spoiler in, but I did not like what happened when they got the bad guy. But, a good author makes you feel invested in all the characters, so she does that well. Again, some minor issues with grammar and spell check ( my hair is dyed, not died). I interested in where this Nee Orleans connection is going. Did we match up all the guys in Virginia, though?
I truly enjoy this series and each of the couples. I had to dock it one star because in reading a happily ever after book, having one of the good guys die is a bummer. To be honest had I known this was going to happen I would have skipped this book in the series.
I chose this rating because this was actually a really good book. I enjoyed most all of the characters. This was a book of abuse, distraction, kindness, and getting your life back. I think the author did a good job with this book it was well written and I enjoyed it tremendously. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.
Still part of Reaper Security but now incorporating the Robicheaux family and taking place in New Orleans. This is really the story of two couples, Mac and Rachelle and Alex and Gaspar. Alex and Rachelle share a horrific history in that they are the only two survivors of a monstrous serial killer. This is the story of their recovery and his ending.
Let me start by saying love the series I’ve binged on your books so so much. But how could you!!! I don’t want to give any spoilers away but…. I cried 😭😭 you made me cry Mary 🤣🤣 amazing series though love love your books. I’m your newest number one London fan look😍😍
I am starting to believe that ms Kennedy she's adding chocolate to her stories because these things are so addictive it's ridiculous!😍 I guess that just mean she's a very good writer I'm loving every minute of this Reaper series!
This one is difficult to read at times. I cried toward the end. I skipped a little as it was too much but went back later. It's definitely worth the read. There's love and there's loss in this one. Made me very sad. Can't wait to download the next one! Enjoy!
Wow just wow, I've read Mary Kennedys book series out of order but I'm loving them so much. This is one of my favourites, the trauma is horrific but the strength of these women is astounding. Another book full of love, respect and just everything u need in a book.
This one was incredible and intense. I love how many couples are finding their way to each other! And I think everyone needs a mama Irene and Matthew in their lives!
The story subject is hard but the healing and family we get with the Reaper south team and getting the original reapers to boot even better but losing one of the guys about killed.me
