You all know by now that i love stories with musicians, but this particular band "The last ones to know" are pretty amazing and one of my favorites!!!

They are not just a band, they are a family... A very bonded family and i like that!!!

My fangirling mode it started in Mayhem...

First i fell in love hard with reckless Adam freakin' Everest...
Then i caught by surprise from Joel, who i never thought that he will ever get into me!!!
And now, after all this time, it came this sweetheart to shake me up... Shawn Scarlett...
Of course, all the girls were also awesome... but the boys have stolen my heart!!!
There's one more boy that keep me waiting and i can not wait for his turn, the quiet Mike!!!
But now, i will talk to you about Shawn and Kit...

Kit, from the previous book had joined the band as a guitarist, but as all we understood she and Shawn had a history together...
When she was fifteen, she was in love with Shawn and from his performances back then grew up her love for the music... She followed his steps in that part, but in the matter of heart she was having complications...
You see, she and Shawn had a night stand together and after that night, he never called her... And that fact stayed with her all the next six years until she faced him again...
Now, after all this time, she didn't share this fact with noone, especially with Shawn and she thinks that he's not remembering her...

Shawn was one of my favorite since the first book.
He was kind, clever, passionated... he was caring for everyone and really guys i couldn't understand... How can this man that i love three books in the row to be such an asshole back then???
Because Kit was still so angry with him that she wasn't painting him with bright colours....

Shawn in the beginning didn't like her and he tried to stay away from her, but something was drawing him toward Kit...
Kit remained in love with him all those years, even though she didn't want to admit it!!!!
The thing is that in most part of this book, those two were making circles around each other and that almost drove me crazy!!! It was a real chaos...

I liked Kit very much. She was like a Rock Goddess on stage, but on backstage she was a scared little girl that she was so afraid that she was going to be hurt for once again.
I didn't like the fact that from her fear, she became a little bit bitch toward Shawn and i didn't like the fact that near to the end just pushed him away without a conversation... I really wanted to hurt her at that point.

She was judging him without letting him to explain his side of the story!!!

Shawn from the other hand was a very nice person... I don't know how he was in the past and i won't defend his actions back then, but at the present he was a very kind and special person.
I liked very much the fact that when he finally manage to explain himself to Kit, he was sincere and real. He wasn't hiding behind his finger and i appreciated that very much!!!

Of course, i have to reffer in all the guys and of course, Leti. I love them all!!! And i really liked Kit's crazy family and the way that they were acting toward each other...

And now, i'm so curious about Mike.
If he will end up with that bitch, i will hit my head in a wall....

Please i preffer that small little girl.... The cousin!

Schade Marmelade.

i am a really, really good friend.

like, really good. i make minor saints look like podcast hosts. (some of the worst people known to man.)

in other words, i read entire, terrible romance series for my pals even when every page feels like a paper cut. (and if you're like, paper cuts aren't even that bad, so it must have been okay, then when was the last time you got a paper cut?!)

this was bad, anyway.

part of a series i'm doing in which i review books i read a long time ago

I love books that break the mold just a little bit, especially in the name of Girl Power. CHAOS is like that. I'm always happy when authors put girls in a non-traditional position that sets them up to surprise and delight their male counterparts. And, maybe even make them a little mad. That's especially fun.

After the prologue, which sets the stage for Kit's and Shawn's present-day feelings for one another, Chaos backs up the timeline a bit and overlaps with RIOT (Mayhem #2). It opens with Kit preparing for her audition with her twin brother Kale. She knows exactly what band she's trying out for and who is in it. She knows how hard it will be for her if she makes it, since her crush on Shawn never went away despite his casual discarding of her after their night together. But, this chick has some serious lady balls, and she's willing to try and put aside her emotions for the chance to really make a living doing what she loves the most. With the exception of Kale, her family isn't entirely supportive of her guitar playing, but she really wants this and will do whatever she has to to get it. I really loved and respected that about Kit. She walked into this situation knowing full well that it would be difficult for her, but wanting this shot to prove herself more.

And then there's Shawn Scarlett. Let's face it - even his name is sexy. He was the last one to fully accept Kit into the band, but once he does, he's all in. Shawn is the intellectual one of the group. He loves to read and he writes the band's songs. And, he's all about the music and its integrity. Once he sees that Kit is the same way, he sees her as a sort of kindred spirit. A HOT kindred spirit. And, there's this connection between the two of them that goes beyond the music.

Kit's reactions to Shawn are a little volatile. She's still totally into him, but she's also still so upset and hurt over his rejection. Her present day interactions with him reflect her confusion. They are getting along great, making awesome music together, and then Shawn will say or do something that brings back all those hurts and emotions from when she was 15. All of a sudden, Kit is giving him the cold shoulder or being completely nasty to him. Shawn is confused, and rightfully so. This is the only problem I have with Kit. It would've been better for her to get it all out in the open, instead of playing games with Shawn's feelings.

I loved Kit's relationship with her brother Kale. Kale has never been a fan of Shawn's, after he saw how upset his sister was six years earlier because of him. So, when things between Kit and Shawn fall apart, it's surprisingly Kale who becomes Shawn's champion. Kit actually has several other older brothers who are very protective of their baby sister, and the family dynamic among them is one of the best parts of this book. They love and accept each other unconditionally, and are very willing to admit when they are wrong - like when they see Kit play with the band and realize that she totally rocks.

In Chaos, I started seeing all these side characters that I wanted full stories for. Some of them we've met before - like Van from a different band - but in this book, they were fleshed out so much more. Jamie did such an amazing job making these side characters come to life.

Chaos was funny and sweet and emotional, and there was lots of awesome rock band music moments. It was everything I wanted.

I wanted to read Shawn's story from the first pages in book 1 Mayhem, sadly to get to his story I had read book 2 Riot, which was a complete flop for me, so *fingers crossed*, book 3 as in Chaos, God help me, let this book be better than the previous ones...

*sigh*

p.s. Yeah, have I mentioned how I love rockers? No? Well, I do. *wink*
so, let's give this a try ;)

and unfortunately, this was slightly better than book 2 and much worse than book 1, so that leaves Mayhem the best story in the series...

Shawn, kinda disappointed me.

And the heroine, well she was so-so, but the family drama...was stretched, and the whole revelation of the main 'issue' was a bit 'too much' and exaggerated

And i m reluctant to read book 4

Maybe, one day...but for now, this is really all I can handle from this series...

"Look... when I meet my wife, I don't want to have to explain to her why I slept with a hundred chicks before I met her, okay?"

Well, I loved this book, which is obvious by the number of times I've read it so far. This series feels like home for me and I love all theses characters. But with this book it's me pretending that it's all about Leti ;) Don't get me wrong, Kit and Shawn are great but Leti is one of my alltimefavorite character. Mike is as well.
I love the writing and although the story might lack in some ways I don't mind because the whole book just makes me feel good and I can't help but loving it.

I thought I was going to love Shawn's story, and rate it at least a 4 star. However, I feel like Kit ruined that for me when she walked into his adult life -and they both kept secrets and pretended not to know/remember certain things. Too many lies, pretending, and secrets. Who can have a good relationship based on those foundations? It would make anyone constantly guess, second guess, and be insecure about their feelings and the other person.

I think this book would have benefited from Shawn's point of view the whole way through.

what I liked:
1. Shawn- I really liked him. He was a good guy and always someone to count on, to usually do something nice... And just a good person.
2. Kit's four brothers & parents
3. Leti
4. The band
5. The private moments Shawn shares with Kit- stolen glances-kisses-touches, moments alone on roof tops, writing new songs, and so on.

I have to add that when the drama came about - I did NOT feel sorry for her. Nope! Not one bit!!! I did feel bad for him. I wish he didn't feel the way he did in his heart felt talk. I thought if anything, she should have manned up more and not have been immature. Communication and actually SPEAKING to someone instead of assuming usually helps!

Great addition to a great series.

Chaos, Book 3 in the Mayhem Series did not disappoint. It was so good I literally went through the gamete of emotions. I laughed, I cried, I got pissed, I was elated, I had chills and well I just plain rocked. If you haven't read this series it is definitely one to pick up.

Let's just say Kit was so Bada$$ that I couldn't help but love her. She was so tough yet vulnerable. Her sass and spontaneity were refreshing. What I loved most about her was that she was true to self, she did't try to be someone she wasn't and that is so important. (yes I have a girl crush ;)

Now Shawn, hmmm ok well lets start off by saying that Shawn is a Rock god, but with that being said he is a jerk. Oh but like any female I couldn't help but slowly fall for him even though I wanted to punch him in the face.

Kit and Shawn, together they are s good but they have so many issues to work out. Will they put out the fire before they burn or will they go up in flames?

This story is the third book by Ms. Jamie Shaw. I am impressed by her attention to detail and characterization. Her voice is evolving and she just keeps getting better with each book. I can not wait for what she has in store for us in the future.

Shawn and Kit have a past. And it's not good. There is a lot of tension between them, partly because they dont know each other's motives and partly because there is a lot of chemistry between them. Watching them create songs and finish each other's thoughts and trying to avoid putting labels on what they have together was as beautiful as frustrating...

I hated the way things went down at the end, how awkward the situation was at the family dinner and, as much as I can understand Kit's hurt and pain, I believe she was equally responsible for the misunderstanding with Shawn.
Nonetheless, this is my favorite story in the series.

Inhalt

I looooooved this. Like I want to hug it, loved it.

Kit is an awesome MC. I love the way she handles her older brothers. She's a kick ass guitar player who isn't afraid to stand up for herself. Unless it has to do with Shawn. The two of them have serious history and it was interesting to see how it all revealed itself. There were some things I didn't see coming and a few I expected, but all of it was entertaining to read.

I don't know how I ended up getting the third book of the series, but it can easily be read as a stand alone. Either way, I'll definitely be getting the other two books.

Einfach Liebe!! ❤❤❤❤

Where do I begin...CHAOS WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!! Each book, I learn more about the characters and love them even more! I seriously just want to crawl inside the book and hang out with the member of The Last Ones To Know!!!

A hero in a book is only as strong as his heroine counterpart and Kit was amazing!!! Kit and Shawn have a lot of history and when they re-united, there was a lot of pent up resentment, misunderstandings, and feelings. If they would have just got it all out in the open from the beginning, we wouldn't have the pleasure of reading such an awesome story! Some may say that Kit was a whiner or over-dramatic, when dealing with Shawn, but I think back on my own personal experiences and I have to say I did the same things as her. Always second guessing yourself or over thinking situations and feelings. And that right there made Kit REAL and that is the best feeling when you can read about a character and relate. Brilliant job, Jamie!

While Chaos can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Mayhem and Riot. They are also books that will not disappoint. All the characters are interconnected throughout the books and I love reading about all of them. I am looking forward to the next book! I have a feeling Mike's story will be EPIC!

Shawn and Kits story blew me away! I laughed, I cried, I swooned, all within the first few chapters...sigh...this book gave me some serious feels. If you love a good series that sucks you in from the start and never lets go, then this is the series for you! And that includes this latest story Chaos. I loved Kits passion and drive and determination and Shawns honesty and straightforwardness even when it came to admitting his faults. Their love story is definitely complicated but in the end legendary. It's that kinda love that everyone looks for but doesn't always find. It's the kind I love to read. So what are you waiting for? Go! Buy! Read! You won't regret it...trust me ;)

I don't know how Jamie Shaw does it, but her books are just THE most amazing books I have ever read! She dominates this genre. Just like the first two books, this book was no exception, it was absolutely mind-blowing! Kit and Shawn were a really spellbinding couple, and the fact that I basically read this in one day says a lot. The story had a constant dramatic, romantic, emotional and wonderful storyline that I was totally addicted to. I can't even say how much I enjoyed both the progression between the two main characters, and the story about her twin-brother which i heart soo much. I love, love, loved this book! The fact that there's just one book left in this series, makes me feel both happy and sad! Mike, here I come!

Devoured like a cupcake with a cherry on top.

Being a lover of Rockstar romance reads each book in this series is a breath of fresh air. I loved Riot and Mayhem before with the angst, laughs, drama and great characters.

Loved Kit she was such a kick ass character it's always good reading about a fearless female although her insecurities shone through with Shawn the boy she had loved and admired for so long, she was once bitten twice shy.

Shawn was a hot rock star, guitarist of this up coming band with his piercing green eyes, a loveable character that every girl wanted

Kit had known shawn since high school he inspired her to learn guitar and Shawn was her the one night stand she could never move on from.

This gripping read takes you on the journey from kits home life to how she joins the tour bus with the group and becomes a band member.

Brilliantly written with so many beautiful words

If you love a hot rockstar playboy romance, beautiful one liners and angst check out mayhem and Riot prior to release each book in series could be read as a standalone but with such great characters you'll want to start from were this series's tour bus begins and enjoy the journey.

Kits brothers are protective of kit and the banter was brilliant I would love a series on these guys.

Arc kindly provided by author for July release so get reading Mayhem and Riot if you haven't already

This book was a lot more fun than Riot, which isn't saying much when you considered how depressing Riot was.
Kit and Shawn were... well, they had their fare share of angst (but it wasn't as much as Dee's and Joel's). I think I did like Shawn a bit more for not thinking with his dick and trying to fool around with all the groupies.

I don't know how to feel about this book. I had such high expectations for this book, especially since Kit had been a girl that had been wronged by a guitarist named Shawn Scarlet six years ago, when she was a freshman and he was a senior in high school. I didn't like her obsession with him, and I think the romance between the two of them was kind of ... bland with a whole lot of unnecessary angst added just for the sake of the plot's drama.

They were cute, they were funny, and I loved how Shawn's the first hero in the series so far to not be hooking around with other groupies while "falling or trying to convince the heroine that he's falling or is in love with her".

Things I liked about this book:

• Kit's humorous inner monologue.
• Kit's relationships with her brothers. It's very one-dimensional, and there's a cliche type of campy family feeling. But I liked it? Yeah, I didn't like how one-dimensional they were, but they contributed to the charm and hilarity of this novel.
• Mike. Seriously. I just love, love, love him. I've loved him from book 1 (Mayhem), was upset that book 2 didn't show him that much, and was ecstatic to see him brought up more.
• Less slut-shaming compared to the last two books, which is an improvement.
• Character growth!!!
• How Kit's family dealt with the reveal of Kale's sexuality.

Things I didn't like about this book:

• I just think that Kit spent 6 years obsessing over him for way too long
• The slut-shaming.... ish. There's not that much as compared to book 1 and book 2, but there's still a lot. The only reason why there's less slut-shaming in this one is because book 1 & book 2 had SO MUCH SLUT SHAMING in it.
• I think inaccurate portrayal of how bands and groupies work? I don't know about you, but I've been to many concerts to know how this work. Bands on tour (especially smaller bands, like what their band is), will usually have their tour buses in restricted area.
Only their guests, themselves, and other band members from other bands can go into the restricted/gated area where their buses are. It's to keep stalkers from trying to break in and cause some damage.
And most bands, when on tour, they don't give a shit about hanging out with groupies and sticking their dicks into anything with legs and is of the opposite sex. They're often: exhausted, tired, have to deal with lack of food, lack of clean laundry (I don't know about you, but the second Shawn and Kit went to do laundry, I found myself snorting), and being homesick because they can't be around their loved ones.
A lot of band members have made statements on the not-so-glamourous lives of touring. Unless you're a HUGE band (like MAROON 5 STATUS), you're living off of clothes that won't be washed in months. That's why most band dudes end up going shirtless a lot.
In AP magazine, there were band members of various bands of various fame that commented on how tame and boring most nights are. Since there's a thing called THE INTERNET, the last thing any one of them want to do is something scandalous that could end up with their names and faces on the web, and their career destroyed.
Add in the fact that some groupies tend to be underage, they'd rather keep their career in tact than risk a felony just to live the "glamorous rock and roll life of a rock star"?

Either than that inaccurate portrayal of how a musician's life works, I liked this book for the most part. Not for Kit, not for Shawn (sadly), and not for their romance plot-line. I was in it for pretty much any scenes between her and other side-characters. Seriously. I think I liked Mike, Kale, and Leti's relationship and scenes with Kit more than any other scenes in the book.

Overall, it's not that bad of a read. Reading this right after Riot, I was kind of underwhelming. I kind of wished I'd read them out of order, because this book wasn't bad, per se. It just didn't measure up to the awesomeness that's Dee and Joel.

I like to rank couples and love interest in series, and now that I'm on the third one:
1. Dee & Joel. These two are the IT couple for me in this series. I'm hoping Mike will win me over (please).
2. Rowan & Adam. (Adam was sweet to her!)
3. Kit & Shawn. (Not because I hate them, but because their relationship just threw me off due to her obsession over him for more than 6 years).

Heroes of the series rank:
1. Mike (I'm sorry, I'm biased. He's been my fave since book 1, and none of the boys have yet to win me over. This could also be because his book hasn't come out yet, so this is just a biased opinion).
2. Joel. (He was a broken soul, and I'm a sucker for those. I'm not a sucker for manho's though. He's not even a reformed manho.)
3. Shawn. (His maturity and how he didn't sleep around with groupies in this novel??? Very refreshing compared to Joel & Adam).
4. Adam. (I know he's sweet, but he was a manho. End of story)

I would recommend if you like romances that focuses around second chance romance, but if you don't like cliche and predictable plotlines--than this might not be for you. It's a fast read, and quite enjoyable due to its campy and "ensemble cast" feeling.

Mit ihren neuen Bandkollegen von The Last Ones To Know ist es ähnlich.

Kit Larson is about to make her rock star dreams come true. Since fifth grade, when she was inspired by a middle school performance to pick up the guitar, she’s loved only two things besides her crazy family: the guitar and Shawn Scarlett. After an amazing audition, Kit’s been selected as the new guitarist for Shawn’s band, The Last Ones to Know.

Kit’s ready to seize this opportunity—as long as she keeps her heart out of things. Shawn broke it years ago—he may not remember Kit but she remembers everything.

Six years ago they shared a one night stand. Now cooped up on a tour bus, Kit gets to know the real Shawn and they can’t deny their attraction. But their past remains hidden, secret—secrets that when they finally surface could change everything.

Oh. My. God. I LOVED this book. It’s the best one in the Mayhem series, in my opinion. Kit is one tough-as-nails rocker chick. She has to be with having four older brothers and father who watch her every move—including vetting potential boyfriends (meaning scaring them away) and trying to protect her from life.

And Shawn. SWOON. He’s so kind, caring and considerate. He’s always taken care of everyone including his band mates—so he’s of course happy to “take care” of Kit (in more ways than one *wink*). I love how Shawn interacts with the band, and Kit too—she fits right in with the guys.

Holy hell, add in the hilarity known as the overprotective nature of Kit’s brothers and you have some laugh out loud moments. Toward the end of the book, at a family dinner, I may have had some bladder control issues because I was laughing so freakin’ hard at their antics. ~ Missy, 5 stars
